AIBU to think Nicola Sturgeon is deflecting criticism with sexism claims?

Nicola Sturgeon is cosplaying the victim, claiming that her being questioned over her ex husband's criminality is anti-women.
Is she seriously playing the woman card, when she actively deflected any criticism or investigation into SNP finances?

The police investigated, the only charged one person with wrongdoing. End of story as far as I’m concerned.

If they thought she was in on it they’d have charged her too.

That’s not the case though. They can think she’s up to her neck in it but if the evidence is all circumstantial and the AG is a member of cabinet then it won’t go to court.

But yeh, Nicola says she’s been ‘completely exonerated’. Hilarious!

LMAO. She claimed to never be in the kitchen of her home. She claimed not to have noticed the big fuck off motorhome on her MIL’s drive. She claimed to not have shut down questions on the finances despite being in video doing so. Believable my ass.

😁😛😅It is indeed difficult to swallow her explanations. Instead I ponder the glass salt and pepper set by Lalique and wonder why it is so expensive and anyone would think it worth it

They tried to. They sent a report to the crown office. Nicola’s pal decided not to charge her.

This is also a massive issue. The Scottish establishment of top politicians, top lawyers, top civil servants and top businessmen is very small. Everyone knows everyone. People were at uni together or worked together in previous roles. John Swinney was at secondary school with Peter Murrell.

So you’re saying there was enough evidence to charge but no charges were brought because she’s friends with the person who made the decision?

Thats quite a serious allegation of misconduct.

No, but if it were the situation that a prosecution could go one way or the other, you don’t risk it. Or hedge your bets by going for the more secure conviction.

We can’t tell, can we? Which is why gazillions of people pointed out that having the AG in the cabinet was a bloody stupid move but Nicola insisted on it. Why do you think that was? What was the valid reason for it if not to keep the AG on side? Do you not think people are right to be querying the reasons behind these seemingly mindblowingly stupid decisions Nicola chose for whatever reason to make?

Oh you poor deluded fools 🤣

I would be really interested to know whether the vitriol spouting pp on this thread are actually residents in Scotland . You know, those people who actually vote for the politicians here .

It's absolutely amazing me the level of hatred being levelled at Nicola and I can't help but feel the majority of it is coming from pp who are enjoying just getting stuck into her for the sake of it rather than those who are part of the actual Scottish electorate.

I would also be interested as whether some pp are Scottish Labour supporters because Scottish Labour's pathological hatred of the SNP is well known and I'm sure they are taking great delight in Nicola's current situation.

I do and I was an SNP voter right up until 2021, and voted yes in the referendum. Nicola Sturgeon was also, as I've said upthread, my MSP and can confidently say she left her constituency in some state.

She was investigated by a criminal justice system that is headed up by her pal, Dorothy Bain, whom she appointed to the job.

Definitely nothing dodgy going on there. This could be where the real scandal is.

It wouldn't be the first time the lord advocate's office confessed to misconduct in connection with a prosecutorial decision (not even the first time in the last decade)
