To think Keir Starmer might resign tomorrow (Monday)

I think he might. But who knows. He must know he can't possibly stay until the next General Election. It's very disrespectful to the electorate to not listen.

Are we going to have one of these threads every day until 2029?

First he was going to resign on Friday. Then Saturday. Then today. Now tomorrow.

Are these threads going to be posted at a regularly scheduled time or is it going to be ad hoc?

It started the day after the election. I think some have placed bets.

Don't believe everything the Mail tells you.

Do you come up with such original comments yourself or did you have to ask Chat GPT to give you this genius quip?

WhereHasMyPlanetGone · 10/05/2026 22:56

MNLurker1345 · 10/05/2026 22:50

Because we are not labour supporters. That is the most obvious reason.

Labour would still be in power though, whether he resigned or not?
I’m not a Labour supporter either, but that doesn’t change the fact that we have a Labour government. Starmer resigning won’t change that either.

@OneTealShaker I hope she paid for it ??

Well, she tried to dodge tens of thousands of property tax. We can all imagine how upstanding (no pun intended) she is when it comes to paying for damaged public property when she is drunkenly destroying it.

What a state.

Can the people who are OBSESSED with Keir Starmer tell me why they want him to resign?

Aside from the same meaningless “will of the people” nonsense, it seems to be connected to just an endless desire for drama.

No politician or political party has all the answers. None of them have a magic wand they can wave. The problems we have are numerous, complex, and there are no easy solutions.

I agree he’s a disappointment, seems to have no vision whatsoever, and is politically inept. However, a lot of people need to grow up.

Edited

Because he’s a paedophile sympathiser. If we look past the historic Saville stuff, what about Nick Brown? Why hasn’t that been dealt with openly? Then then Madelson scandal! And that’s just the people he knows. What about his inaction on the grooming gangs? His appointment this weekend of another paedophile apologist? That’s before we consider the shit show of a country we currently live in. He needs to go and be held accountable

What, with that comment? You are embarrassing yourself. Stop it.

MNLurker1345 · 10/05/2026 22:59

@Isthisacondition, she and the door have been called to a special committee to look into proceedural accountability.

The mending of the door will be carried out after a long drawn out investigation before being paid for by the tax payer.

It’s all fine. He’s on track as expected with voting.

DontMowMyMeadow · 10/05/2026 23:00

This is all being driven by the prediction markets. The amount of money on Starmer to resign is insane on the US sites Polymarket and Kalshi.
We, the general population, are being played for fools. Just pawns in a game.

Snorerephron · 10/05/2026 23:01

I'm liking having a grown up in charge for once after all the illegal proroguing of parliament/covid parties/ etc

I don't see why we need to bay for constant change.

Brexit and Truss fucked the economy. Let's not blame the first government in power that are trying to sort the mess out

Is there any evidence of her destroying a door? Because the doors in the House of Commons are extremely sturdy and if the average woman walked into one, the door would prevail.

What do you think about that fact the economy is in worse shape now than under Truss. Starmer is doing a worse job that Truss. Fact. As evidenced by the bond markets.

He won’t resign. Yet. But he’s a dead man walking.

He’s a brainless pen pusher with no ideas, conviction or imagination. It’s all about process and technicalities, and it turns out he’s not even good at that after his mate Mandy exposed him.

But…..there’s no one to replace him. Just think about that. The guy is so incompetent and useless but there is still no one to replace him. Except for Ange, who apparently got so drunk in the House of Commons last week that she crashed into a door and broke it. I mean she’s an absolute disgrace and joke. As well as a tax fraud. M And she’s being touted as the next PM. What the hell is happening to this country.

Well the Tories were getting so pissed that they were puking inside Downing St, then leaving it for the cleaners, the night before the Queen had to sit on her own at her husband’s funeral and the rest of the country were locked down because of Covid. So if “Ange” is a “state and a disgrace and a joke” as you put it, she must fit in bloody well.

I hope not. I think we need a prime minister for longer than the hot minute we’ve had over recent years. He’s barely been in power long. Some good things are happening.

it would be easier for him to go but I genuinely thinks he believes it isn’t the right thing to do. My ex husband used to work closely with him and he is a good, honest and intelligent man. Good luck to him

Well yes.

the public voted him in for 5 years.

when they didn’t get what they wanted in the first five minutes they then turned around and decided they wanted him replaced.

you vote, you get that prime minister for the duration.

Change takes time and swapping prime ministers like Lego pieces (love that pp!) won’t get those changes made.

i am not sure about Starmer. He’s clearly a very intelligent man with good ethics, but he may be a little too much of a clinical lawyer, which I don’t think appeals to the public. However I also don’t think at this point him resigning will do any good either.

Like PP said, the door will give its evidence at the committee.

But you are missing the point. This is the standard of PM candidate. That’s how far the country has falllen.

For goodness sake.

Yes, let’s ignore “the Saville stuff,” considering it’s already been subject to an independent review that found it didn’t have anything to do with him.

Isthisacondition · 10/05/2026 23:05

@MNLurker1345 and she will blame the door and say the tories didn't maintain it and it was made worse by Brexit.

paddleboardingmum · 10/05/2026 23:07

Note how people calling for him to resign are then saying they don't want Labour at all. We had an election, he doesn't have to resign. I think he won't because he said he doesn't want to plunge the country into chaos. Behind the scenes maybe it's a different story and he realises he will have to go once a clear replacement is lined up. I've no idea why people seem to think Farage would be preferable, he seems very slimy and untrustworthy.

Wasn’t Starmer the one as head of the CPS to drive the prosecution of the grooming gangs?

You must have someone else in your head space, but even you can’t say it’s going well. Or was the voting this week good for Labour and Starmer?

@Isthisacondition, brilliant post! You’ve gotta laugh, ain’t you?
