Why do you think it will be a shit show?

I live in a Reform controlled council and that is exactly what it is! Cuts to social care, SEND, libraries, 600,000 spent on 6 parking spaces as they’ve suddenly lost senior councillors have suddenly lost the use of their legs! Increased council tax, the list goes on, remember their MP’s consist of mainly failed Tories!

Actually when my son was 1.5 and I was watching news on TV at breakfast time assuming he understood none of it he got up from the table and walked around to stare at the TV, pointed at it and shouted very crossly “silly, silly man!” when Trump was giving a press conference during his first term. I wasn’t anticipating that either. They seem to have a visceral reaction to liars.

I suppose according to you either I imagined that very funny incident and demonstration of innate good character judgement as well or had somehow indoctrinated an 18 month old into certain political views.

Really.

Have any of your kids ever criticised a Democrat, or anyone from Labour?

Hallowedturf · 08/05/2026 06:06

Labour are being sent a clear message by voters.

Sadly, many in Labour will take that to mean they need to spend even more than they already are.

To the economically illiterate, the answer to failed socialism is always more socialism…

Senescence · 08/05/2026 06:07

Flyingintotheunknown · 08/05/2026 05:57

Why Did the leaflet mention skin colour or that one ethnicity is superior to another or something similar? Because if not how would she know it’s ‘racist’?????

You have seen the sort of racist propaganda that Farage puts on leaflets and posters etc, surely?

Remember this?

My daughter saw Rachel Reeves in a TV interview I was watching when she walked into the room and said she was talking nonsense. I can’t disagree with that either.

bozzabollix · 08/05/2026 06:10

I live in Kent, they are not doing a good job here. Let them screw up a few more councils across the country and see how the voters react at the general election.

dottiehens · 08/05/2026 06:11

Happyjoe · 08/05/2026 01:11

Well, the only, very thin positive I can think of is that Reform do what they've already done - screw over the local councils where they're already sat.

Perhaps 2 years of it may give people pause to think if they want this nationally.

Jesus, I am totally depressed but not surprised. Bloody Farage's mug everywhere, the nasty party in charge.

The nastier party? Labour is the nasty party.

i doubt that would be the same leaflet that was posted through your door. My point is how would a 6 year old know how to write so much hate about a specific person or understand what a leaflet is about or that it’s ’racist’ without it saying something about skin colour or something else that a child would easily understand. No 6 year old is going to understand much about what is written on a political leaflet or about either local or national issues. You have shown yourself up for the sort of person you are in many ways.

Like I said, I can’t stand Keir Starmer but my kids wouldn’t know jack shit about him apart from that he’s the PM. They have no real opinion of him because they’re not at an age where they need to know. And I certainly wouldn’t go posting hateful things my kids had drawn and written to No10

Senescence · 08/05/2026 06:13

xanthomelana · 08/05/2026 05:50

Or quantum physics considering she’s got a very good understanding of everything else.

Well her IQ is in the top 0.01% so yeah, she is pretty good at understanding many things.

Curious.

I love the sound of your daughter. It’s funny how other posters can’t imagine a 6 year old who’s more switched on than their 6 year old!

ProudAmberTurtle · 08/05/2026 06:16

Labour currently losing more than 80% of the seats they're defending.

Looks like it's closer to 50% in London and closer to 100% in the north

I didn’t say this was the leaflet posted through my door. This was one of his racist posters he plastered up during the Brexit referendum. He has, however, continued posting racist propaganda via his various parties/ private companies either online or in public spaces or through people’s letterboxes for many years so I was responding to the poster who claimed that she didn’t believe he sent a racist leaflet to our house that unfortunately my daughter picked up and read. Perhaps he should think about this before sending such things to family homes where there are children who may see the post. I don’t have a copy of the specific leaflet he sent to us this time because - as already stated - I posted it back to Reform’s headquarters address with my daughter’s comments and drawing.

What a load of shite! I don’t teach my kids to hate specific people neither do I encourage or spread hate by posting nasty drawings back to the HQ of some place. Get a grip

I'm curious, do you think 50 years of neoliberalism has had a positive impact on our country? Do you think that more austerity and deregulation will fix our problems?

Senescence · 08/05/2026 06:13

Well her IQ is in the top 0.01% so yeah, she is pretty good at understanding many things.

What test did she do and what score did she get?

What's her theory as to why Labour are being wiped out in deprived parts of the UK?

Again I will repeat… why are you encouraging hate by posting personal nasty pictures your daughter drew of someone back to their HQ??? The mind boggles!

KillerWail · 08/05/2026 06:18

Compared to socialism? An emphatic yes.

Hallowedturf · 08/05/2026 06:14

And you know this…

Because she’s autistic so had an full educational psychologist assessment done which includes cognitive tests including IQ and identified her as gifted and talented and measured her IQ against standardised scores across statistically validated data based on millions of people across the world.

Anything else, or is the entirety of the rest of the thread going to be about your slightly disturbing over-interest in my child rather than the thread topic?

I’d like to know this too. Also does she think we should incorporate more participatory methods of democracy in the UK and is she a fan of the epistemic model?

Her picture and response was far less nasty than the unsolicited hateful material posted through our letterbox in the first place. She was perfectly reasonable to respond and state this was unwanted.

You played your DD in to the thread - to make a point.

That’s how it goes, I’m afraid.

At least someone can see if. Decades of Conservative rule and people are daft enough to blame socialism.
