What do you think to too good to go app???? I've found 90 percent to be absolutely crap but odd few fantastic!!!I'm not exactly skint when it comes to buying food but I love the idea of zero food waste

I've found it brilliant for two things.

Firstly, Greggs - never been disappointed - always a few things in there I'd want - maybe the odd thing I don't, but definitely always feel I get money's worth.

Secondly, hot breakfasts from hotels - again, never been disappointed. They usually give you a box and let you loose on the buffet once it's closed to guests. You need to be either close to home or ready to eat straight away as the hot food is pretty manky once you let it go cold.

Worst was a high class bakery where they just gave me a bag of 5 breakfast rolls, when they closed at 6pm - nothing else.

Enjoying this thread! Never tried TGTG but there’s a Greggs near my work so am tempted!

Have done it a Booths a couple of times. It’s been pretty good.

@Bushmillsbabewow, on my app they are £5.50 for six! Not worth it imo

The Lidl ones are the best. I don't usually manage to get one but if I do I always photograph the contents and text DM. 😂

The last one had (for €3):
750g Kiwi gold
750g plum tomatoes
6 Maribelle apples (organic)
750g mandarin (organic)
1 courgette
2 red peppers (organic)
500g chicory (organic)

I also got a prepackaged salad and a loaf of bread for 25 cents each. I often get 25 cent bargains, but you have to be a regular visitor though. I go most days on my way home from work.

Inspired by this thread, I remembered that I signed up to the app many years ago. I've since moved and never looked to see what is local. This week I've had:

-Breakfast buffet from a Sheraton hotel. £6.07. 2 containers. 1 with 6 bacon rashers and 2 sausages. The other had baked beans, scrambled egg and 3 hash browns.

-Yo sushi kiosk from inside a larger tesco. £6.75. 1 packet seafood sushi, 1 chicken/noodle salad and a smaller rice/tofu thing. She took them fresh from the counter, not yellow sticker ones, and the total would have been £16.90!

-Morrisons grocery bag. £4.49. Everything was best before yesterday and all yellow stickered. 1 loaf sourdough and 1 loaf farmhouse bread.
Bag of carrots, roasting potatoes, clementines, cauli/broccoli mix, iceburg lettuce. The yellow stickers came to only £2.33 and over half was slimy and rotten! The app does have an option to get a partial refund, but I won't be getting that one again.

Tend to see if any available if we would be picking up a sandwich to eat on the train, or if our local sandwich shop has one on days when we are both at home and taking a late lunch. Have occasionally had a duff bag but usually get enough for lunch for 2. If going to be home late and may otherwise have ordered a takeaway we have once or twice got a bag from the local chippy - had a duff bag which was all sausages and weird donner meat and no chips, and one which had 3 large fish, couple of fishcakes and enough chips to feed a small army!
Best bag by far was the m and S plants and flower bag. Huge bouquet and a large pot of 4 orchid plants for a fiver! Bouquet was nice for about a week and the orchids - which were looking sorry for themselves - have all developed new buds. Very happy with that!

I had a really good Gail's bag this week. For the price of a loaf of sourdough I got the sourdough I was hoping for, two pastries, a cake, and a boxed salad. We're a family of four adults so it all gets eaten.
