Personal attack reveals a lack of actual argument.
Unsurprisingly.

It really isn't. Trans people are a tiny tiny percent of the population.
You are seriously prepared to throw the entire country under the bus for your prejudice.

Edited

Protecting women's and girls' sex-based rights isn't prejudice. Anyone who thinks it is clearly hasn't really understood the issues. Or is a TRA.

I will never vote for a party who is prepared to dismantle women's rights at the alter of gender woo.

Me neither. It leaves a very small voting pool, sadly.

Making a choice as to who is best to lead the country by basing it on the trans debate as opposed to policies, track record, party etc shows more than a little lack of judgement. Liz Truss trotted out the same soundbite.

Women have pushed on this, FWS did a brilliant job. They’ll have detractors but they spoke up and got a great outcome. Many others too.

It wouldn't even factor into my voting decisions. Other issues are more important to me. Are you saying I'm an imbecile?

If the policy is to deny reality and ignore the harm done to women and girls in the process, then I absolutely will exclude that party as a viable and sensible option.

No. I didn't fall for anything, thanks all the same. I'm quite capable of thinking for myself. Some of us actually understand the issues. And many of the prominent people at the fore of the sex-based rights campaign are actually left wing. But don't let that damage your narrative of us all being gullible right wing idiots. 🙄

That argument is as persuasive as calling us all transphobes, frankly (for the sake of clarity: not persuasive at all).

For the first time in my 30+ year voting history, I feel compelled to vote for Labour as they seem to be the best option in my area against Reform. I am politically homeless and don't want to vote for any of them, but I do not want to live in a world where Reform are in power, so must do what I can, even though it is an unpalatable choice.

Yep, absolutely agree. If Reform get in, we'll really be doomed.

"Undecided" my ar**. There's no way you would feel so strongly anti-Labour unless you were pro an alternative party. I'll put money on it beginning with R.

Since Labour is the paedofile protector’s party, I won’t be voting Labour. You are correct.

I have absolutely no doubt that it will be a very bad day for the Labour Party

those on government rarely do well in local elections but this will be particularly bad

I really hope it won’t trigger a left of the party revolt and a push for Rayner but I suspect it will. Labour never learn from their mistakes

on the positive side it’s still three years away from a general election

Oh. You edited it. Why do you assume that people talking about sex-based rights are Reform voters? That's so narrow minded of you. And really quite stupid, if you look at the prominent voices attempting to protect sex-based rights.

I'm not and never will be a Reform voter.

Well they certainly couldn’t do any worse!
I don’t think anyone on the international stage has respect for Starmer. You can see how he is sidelined when they meet. Labour has turned our country into a laughing stock. I am gutted that we have no election in our area so I cannot contribute to his demise.

He seems to garner quite a bit of respect from European leaders. Are you disappointed that we're not at war with Iran or something?

These Reform voters didn’t just hatch. They will have been Tory and Labour voters.

I don’t disagree that Reform supporters are chasing foolish promises and empty ideas. And I don’t disagree that many people vote in locals on national issues. But Labour, Tory, SNP, LibDem etc voters have always voted like that. It’s not new and it tells us a lot about a government’s standing with the electorate.

Yes, I agree with you. There have always been people who haven't really understood what they're voting for. I just think that those voters who choose Reform will get a very unpleasant shock when they realise what they've done.

The very left of the party rebelled with this week's vote. Weirdly, Starmer hasn't removed the whip, which technically he should have done, from the 67 (voters for the motion and those who abstained). Wonder why that is (suicidal re his majority, I imagine). Which makes him look weak, frankly.

Maybe read up on Trump and Farage as to women’s rights :-

Based on reports through early 2026, the actions of the Trump administration have been characterized by advocacy groups as a significant rollback of women's rights, both in the United States and globally. Key areas of impact include reproductive healthcare, economic protections, and international aid. 1, 2, ]
Reproductive Rights and Health Access
Overturning Roe v. Wade: The appointment of conservative Supreme Court justices, who subsequently voted to overturn Roe v. Wade in 2022, is considered the most significant factor in the loss of federal protection for abortion rights.
Abortion Bans and Restrictions: As of early 2026, abortion is illegal in 12 US states. Reports indicate a push to utilize the 19th-century Comstock Act to enforce a nationwide ban on mailing medication abortions.
Title X Changes: Policies under the administration led to the departure of many providers from the Title X family planning network, resulting in over a million fewer people receiving services like cancer screenings and birth control.
Global Gag Rule Expansion: The Global Gag Rule was reinstated and expanded, cutting off US aid to foreign organizations that provide abortion counseling or services, which critics say has increased unsafe abortions and maternal mortality worldwide. 1, , 4, 5]
Economic and Workplace Protections
Gender Pay Gap Reporting: The administration halted efforts to require companies to report salary data regarding gender and race pay gaps.
Workplace Equality: Efforts have been made to dismantle Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs across the federal government and reduce enforcement of sexual harassment complaints.
Economic Impact: Reports show a decline in women's labor force participation in 2025, with a significant disparity in employment recovery between white women and women of color. src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/jFV753xiOTw?start=42" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen> 1, 2]
Global Impact and Policies
Foreign Aid Cuts: The administration has cut funding for international aid programs focused on women's health and empowerment.
International Alliances: The administration has promoted the Geneva Consensus Declaration, an anti-abortion pact that opposes the recognition of abortion as an international right.
Rights Rollback Momentum: Observers have noted that the U.S. shifting away from gender equality has emboldened similar restrictions in other countries. 1, 2, 3, 4]

But hey he knows what a woman is!

Trump spurs global rollback on the rights of women and girls

A global rollback of women’s rights was already underway before US President Donald Trump took office. But now it’s in hyper speed. Trump’s actions, including his broad slashing of international aid, both cause direct harm and encourage other world lea...

Who is saying that? Which poster talking about women's and girls' sex-based rights have advocated for this? Or is it just the fevered imagination of those posters who think that knowing you can't change sex = right wing (the boring, tired, trope that it is).

Farage and reforms “women’s rights”😆

Nigel Farage and his party, Reform UK, have faced criticism from women's rights groups, opposing politicians, and campaigners who argue their proposed policies and rhetoric pose a threat to established gender equality protections in the UK. Concerns center on proposals to repeal key equality legislation, their stance on reproductive rights, and their rhetoric surrounding gender-based violence. 1, 2, 3, 4]
Key policies and viewpoints highlighted as detrimental to women's rights include:
Repeal of the Equality Act 2010: Reform UK has pledged to scrap the Equality Act, which prohibits discrimination based on gender, pregnancy, and maternity, and requires employers to tackle harassment. Critics argue this could lead to a decline in workplace safety and equal pay protections.
Rollback of Reproductive Rights: Farage has described the current 24-week abortion limit as "ludicrous" and has indicated that it should be lower. Concerns have been raised regarding his meetings with US anti-abortion groups and his appointment of a senior policy advisor, Dr. James Orr, who opposes abortion even in cases of rape or incest.
Scrapping the Online Safety Act: Reform UK has pledged to repeal this act, which includes provisions designed to tackle "revenge porn" and protect women from online abuse.
Workplace and Economic Concerns: Farage has argued that men are more willing to sacrifice family life for their careers than women. Critics argue that some in the party's orbit have expressed support for policies that could, for example, make it harder for women to balance work and family life.
Stance on Gender-Based Violence: The party has been criticized for not prioritizing actions against domestic abuse and for the appointment of figures who have been accused of holding regressive views on women. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, , 9, 10, 11]
These actions have led to accusations that Farage and his party are fostering an environment that challenges the safety, equality, and bodily autonomy of women in the UK. 1, 2]
