It will be interesting to see how the old Labour faithful try to spin next week’s inevitable drubbing.

Many of them were utterly in denial about Rayner - even after she was binned.

It was quite something to witness.

Farage and reforms “women’s rights”😆

Nigel Farage and his party, Reform UK, have faced criticism from women's rights groups, opposing politicians, and campaigners who argue their proposed policies and rhetoric pose a threat to established gender equality protections in the UK. Concerns center on proposals to repeal key equality legislation, their stance on reproductive rights, and their rhetoric surrounding gender-based violence. 1, 2, 3, 4]
Key policies and viewpoints highlighted as detrimental to women's rights include:
Repeal of the Equality Act 2010: Reform UK has pledged to scrap the Equality Act, which prohibits discrimination based on gender, pregnancy, and maternity, and requires employers to tackle harassment. Critics argue this could lead to a decline in workplace safety and equal pay protections.
Rollback of Reproductive Rights: Farage has described the current 24-week abortion limit as "ludicrous" and has indicated that it should be lower. Concerns have been raised regarding his meetings with US anti-abortion groups and his appointment of a senior policy advisor, Dr. James Orr, who opposes abortion even in cases of rape or incest.
Scrapping the Online Safety Act: Reform UK has pledged to repeal this act, which includes provisions designed to tackle "revenge porn" and protect women from online abuse.
Workplace and Economic Concerns: Farage has argued that men are more willing to sacrifice family life for their careers than women. Critics argue that some in the party's orbit have expressed support for policies that could, for example, make it harder for women to balance work and family life.
Stance on Gender-Based Violence: The party has been criticized for not prioritizing actions against domestic abuse and for the appointment of figures who have been accused of holding regressive views on women. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, , 9, 10, 11]
These actions have led to accusations that Farage and his party are fostering an environment that challenges the safety, equality, and bodily autonomy of women in the UK. 1, 2]

AI slop.

You don’t need to read it- the world knows Trump’s anti women policies but apparantly if he can say he knows what a woman is he champions women’s rights. You couldn’t make it up!!!

Because everyone who thinks it is pertinent to defend women's rights on the basis of sex and not regressive gender stereotypes is a Trump supporter? Maybe you should, in your own parlance, educate yourself?

You seem a bit excitable with all the laughing emojis. It’s obvious from earlier posts from pp that they’re not voting for him.

Facts!

Did you fact check it? A massive corporate US law firm was in the legal press this week for filing / serving submissions with AI-hallucinations in there. 😳 Nothing AI produces can be considered fact unless checked thoroughly.

My opinion of people who use AI is pretty low really.

Everything you have said applies to every party who has ever been in charge to some degree. The old boys and back slapping, sleaze and power grabbing.
Same shite, different party name.

I don't think the Conservative Party ever got as bad as this lot. It's taken Labour under two years to get to its current level of sleaze, corruption and incompetence.

The Conservatives did nothing that compares with the mistake of appointing Peter Mandelson, or the lies and bullying behaviour we've had from Keir Starmer trying to cling onto power.

This is despite the pious promises, hair-shirtery and boasts of moral superiority we suffered when he was the opposition leader.

That the previous government were imperfect does not excuse his woful performance.

Angelor Raynor is desperate to become Prime Minister, and Andy Burnham already has Labour MPs ready to give up their seats for him.

God forbid AR gets in. We will definitely be a laughing stock everywhere.

At least the Tories never stood on an 'anti-sleaze' platform. Unlike this lot, who have proven to be as bad - if not worse - than the Tories for sleaze! Couldn't make it up!

I don't know about that, it worked a treat for Labour in 2019.

Hold on. Actually it didn't...

That was about policy. But became rather derailed by sleaze.

Labour actually stood on an anti-sleaze platform. That's different.

Quite.

And they sailed into power on a tide of sleaze - the freebies, the tickets, clothes, glasses etc.

All whilst talking down the economy, and lecturing us on ever-growing black holes.

Hallowedturf · 02/05/2026 16:02

On Polymarkets, there’s currently USD 2m on Starmer being out by 30th June.

I rather suspect it will be a multiple of this after next Thursday, and the current 41% odds will be significantly higher….
