To have expected DH to say no to stag do t-shirt?

Kellybloom · 01/05/2026 21:10

DH is on a stag this weekend, many of them going are younger. I’ve seen a photo of the personalised tops for their travel out and I find it really disgusting/offensive. I messaged him to say I would have expected him not to wear it and he said he didn’t really have choice.

AIBU to think a grown man should speak up and not care what the crowd thinks?

What does the t-shirt say? Words on it or pic?

UpDownAllAround1 · 01/05/2026 21:12

Think we need more details

BringBackTheLight · 01/05/2026 21:12

Without knowing what the top says its difficult to know

Kellybloom · 01/05/2026 21:14

Sorry, can’t post the picture as it would be outing as he’s in it. But it basically says:

Get the badge in
Get the bag in
Get the slags in

With a photo of an older woman’s face

He said it is a well known ‘meme’.

I remember when dh went on a stag night out one and they ended up in a foam party. All the partners incl me were staying together having our own little party. We were 24yo then. And when they got back they were all topless and drunk. My dh(bf) was the only one who came home with all his clothes on and in a decent condition. He cared too much about what I would think to behave like the others. I knew he was a keeper back then. 20 years together. Long story short - yanbu

asdbaybeeee · 01/05/2026 21:15

Something gross about women - yuck

something like big knob or similar. Water

This is a famous meme FYI - I wouldn’t take it too seriously. Think it’d be worse if the person on there was someone you know/groom’s partner!

That video went viral a few years ago and people will understand it’s a reference, I’m sure.

I would say it’s more cringe inducing than ick-worthy!

ETA: sorry, just seen you said it has his face on! I would say that’s less bad :D maybe my standards are too low! lol

AStonedRose · 01/05/2026 21:17

What do women get with men like this?

he’s a revolting odious idiot OP. leave him, seriously

Alwaysthesameoldstory · 01/05/2026 21:18

For heaven's sake OP if the t shirt is so gross and offensive then you have some idea of how awful the rest of the stag do will pan out.

If your Dh hasn't got the strength of character to refuse to wear a tee shirt imagine what else he is going to get up to just to fit in with his pals.

Why do women tolerate this behaviour?

I would love to say I’m reassured but I don’t think the majority of people would be aware of it! Maybe I’m wrong!

According to Google:

These phrases are part of a slang meme associated with British football casual culture and the brand Stone Island.
"Get the badge in": Refers to showcasing the Stone Island compass badge on clothing, often indicating a boisterous or "troublemaker" persona.
"Get the bag in": Likely refers to bringing in gear, alcohol, or other items for a night out or a trip to a football match.
"Get the slags in": A derogatory term used in this context to refer to women joining the group, often popularized by humorous social media videos

🤢

AStonedRose · 01/05/2026 21:23

Are you happy with him spending household money on coke OP?**

WileyCyrus · 01/05/2026 21:23

Presumably he hasn’t spoken up because he’s ok with wearing it. You find it offensive but perhaps he doesn’t

Depends on the age group I think - most under 30’s would be aware. I am however in my 20s so my opinion is probably skewed!

The video was made famous as someone got their grandmother to hold a can of Stella and recite it.
It was referring to wearing Stoney Island, that type of bag and saying to get the ‘slags’ in.

Obviously vulgar language at the end there, but it was definitely made as satire and went VERY viral.

If the young ones were picking it out, I would say it makes sense they chose it - it’s a lot more harmless than some others I’ve seen!

Either way, if you said you don’t like it/he knows it would make you uncomfortable then he shouldn’t really be wearing it x

Just wanted to give a slightly different perspective! xxx

MyLimeGuide · 01/05/2026 21:25

I guess if all of his friends are younger than him hes trying to be 'cool' and doesn't want to kill the mood? (Of being young!)

Realky?
So disrespecting women is just par for the course when it comes to stag dos in your opinion and nothing to worry about?
What a way to celebrate a forthcoming coming marriage.
What a way to insult and degrade the partners of the men involved in these neanderthal parties.

It's from a tiktok video, I'm guessing the woman is from this video? It's a reference to a lads' night out: wearing a Stone Island jacket (the badge) getting some gear (bags) and meeting women (you know what).

I'm an avid feminist but I would see this as a joke. I watched the inbetweeners and found all their inappropriate stag shirts funny. It doesn't sound like this was his choice or his choice. It would be different if he ordered them, but I wouldn't overthink him wearing one.

You’re an avid feminist and you think ‘get the slags in’ is funny? Srsly?

Userjal · 01/05/2026 21:45

The people that are completely horrified you do realise they probably won’t be getting the bags or slags in? Oh to live life so seriously

Nuttycoffee · 01/05/2026 22:21

It`s just a t-shirt for a stag do op let it go.
I ran topless at a rave in my 20s.
I also wore a vest top that said cum teach me something hen do.
Went to a party with some mates and we all wore hit and run only on the front and nail and bail on the back of our tops.
Those were the days.

Now im almost 40 i still do it its called having fun.

tillyandmilly · 01/05/2026 22:24

Nuttycoffee - sorry that’s vulgar in my opinion ! Yuk

I’m mid 40s and know the meme, I spent a significant amount of time bedbound over the last few years due to disability and spent a bit too long online .
