AIBU to rethink things over DH's stag weekend Reform shirt?

Wavery2 · 24/04/2026 22:42

DH is on his stag weekend and I’ve just been sent a photo of his night one outfit for their city centre bar crawl.

He’s in a full football kit with a blue Reform shirt complete with ‘Farage 10’ on the back.

AIBU to consider LTB?!

Beachwalker66 · 25/04/2026 06:47

I couldn’t live with a Reform voter.

Delici · 25/04/2026 06:49

Wavery2 · 24/04/2026 23:12

He is voting Reform, he has been very vocal about that!

So what’s the issue with the T-shirt?

You already knew that he was a massive twat because this.

Whaleandsnail6 · 25/04/2026 07:04

I don't get your sudden issue...you know he wants to vote reform. Thats his choice.

Even if you don't like reform and would never vote for them, you obviously haven't felt that much of an issue with your fiancés political choice until now, since you are at stag do stage of your relationship and wedding planning?

Why is this outfit the deal-breaker?

susiesheep3 · 25/04/2026 07:16

Men are weird. They think it’s funny to dress up as the likes of Jimmy Saville on nights out and stags. If he’s taking the piss it’s kind of a good thing as it shows he thinks Farage is something to be mocked. If he’s actually supports him and votes reform then that would give me the ick.

I suspect because he’s a walking advertisement for reform. People often keep their political beliefs to themselves but this is a very clear and public display of his values and op is (rightly) embarrassed.

teaandtoastwouldbenice · 25/04/2026 07:20

yuck I wouldn’t marry him, being out in a personalised football top over the age of 18 is bad but a reform one is grim.

rwalker · 25/04/2026 07:21

Wavery2 · 24/04/2026 23:12

He is voting Reform, he has been very vocal about that!

I don’t understand why you have an issue with the football shirt
you already know he supports reform this isn’t a surprise

LlynTegid · 25/04/2026 07:21

He is supporting the disgraceful stunt that Mr Farage played on Ipswich Town FC a few weeks ago. A club with several overseas players some of whom would be deported under the policies Reform advocate.

Don't marry him.amd don't procreate with him. Arseholes aren't going to die out if women keep shagging them.

IrradiatedHaggis · 24/04/2026 23:22

So you already knew his political leanings, didn't care, but now he's wearing the t shirt you're reconsidering? Odd.

This 😅

PotatoPrometheus · 25/04/2026 07:27

Are you bothered by him voting reform OP? If not, then why does the t-shirt bother you?

Or is your issue with the t-shirt that it amplifies your discomfort about his politics? In which case you need to think if you can be married to someone you disagree with politically.

I think a lot of people would struggle to be married to someone with different values to them, but not always. Sometimes it can work…though I think the fact this t-shirt bothers you so much could be a bit of a warning sign.

Clearinguptheclutter · 25/04/2026 07:42

I absolutely would not marry anyone that was vocal about voting reform

or that voted reform at all tbh

nomas · 25/04/2026 07:57

BudgetBuster · 24/04/2026 23:31

So why is the costume a shock?

Because she’s happy marrying a Farage supporter but doesn’t want her friends and colleagues to know he supports Farage so she can pretend they are a normal couple.

Underthinker · 25/04/2026 00:14

You think a quarter of the UK is fascist?

No, some of them are just stupid and easily manipulated.

UniquePinkSwan · 25/04/2026 08:11

Ffs really? I’m not a reform voter but Labour voters are truly something else. My way or the highway…

alittlebitdelusional · 25/04/2026 08:12

LTB. He’s a prick.

Firetreev · 25/04/2026 08:13

Happyjoe · 24/04/2026 23:30

Dealbreaker for me. Honestly, I just couldn't deal with that level of idiocy.

Exactly. I would never marry a Reform supporter in the first place. It's a complete red flag that shows he's racist or not very bright, or both.

Sally2791 · 25/04/2026 08:17

Don’t marry a reform supporter

Daisylove1 · 25/04/2026 08:29

You’re shagging a facist, but you already know this. Why has the shirt made you recoil?! I think you have bigger fish to fry

genesis92 · 25/04/2026 08:32

To be fair I would never marry a Socialist. Luckily I’ve never met an attractive, masculine one so I’m happy with my lot.

Clarabell77 · 25/04/2026 08:35

Wavery2 · 24/04/2026 23:12

He is voting Reform, he has been very vocal about that!

Why is it only bothering you now then? You must’ve known that before the stag do.

Blueeyedmale · 25/04/2026 08:35

So you already knew he was a reform supporter, and you were quite happy to marry him but the shirt makes you want to post on MN and there are local elections coming up.... Maybe I'm just paranoid but this sounds like an reform party political broadcast

RoseField1 · 25/04/2026 08:37

Yes I would break up with anyone who voted reform as our values don't align.

Givemethereins · 25/04/2026 08:37

Wavery2 · 24/04/2026 23:12

He is voting Reform, he has been very vocal about that!

Well then why are you surprised about the Reform, football hooligan outfit? Is it because he has only mentioned he'd vote Reform but never actually come out as a proper Reform hardliner type and that's made you re-consider who this person is?
I would not be with someone who has different politics than me but also I would worry that this is the middle of a long slide down into much darker stuff.
You will need to have a talk when he gets back.
