As a proud Northerner i can say 80 per cent of my peer group will vote for Reform in May. Do you think it will be a North v South split?

Sorry should of said “everyone I know who has told me who they are voting is voting reform”

And they have no reason to lie to me I’m not some skinhead thug who will beat them if they say they’re voting greens. I don’t even like telling people who in voting

Next time someone tells you, would you ask then why? And if they can reply in more than a sentence and they talk about any of the multitude of issues that matter in governing a country aside from immigration, would you mind posting a summary? Because everyone knows everyone is voting Reform, is of less interest than why. I feel there must be something 'everyone' may be aware of that I'm not.

For Most of them immigration is the big issue. They do not want our town to become like certain parts of London and places like Bradford etc.

Everything else is secondary.

These are their views as you asked. Not mine

Yes, that resonates with my experience of Reform voters too. Its 'stop the boats' and that's it. Very worrying really as many of the people saying this are those who will suffer most from a Reform government. People on benefits, people highly dependent on the NHS or more likely to be, who don't seem aware of the rest of the package that comes with Reform and how it will make their day to day lives worse.

NeedAnyHelpWithThatPaperBag · 26/04/2026 19:31

It's strange how the Labour Party, the supposed worker's party has inadvertently, become one of the strongest advocates for increased competition for jobs...

If we look at the most pessimistic views of the future from both sides. The far left believe reform will sell the nhs and turn the uk into a mini USA. The far right believe labour/greens will allow unlimited immigration until the uk becomes a mini Pakistan.

Unless you are male and Muslim you’d probably prefer to live in the USA.

Again not my views just explaining how many of them seem to think. They are thinking long term but prioritising different things.

This isn’t a poor town we’re far south and most of these people have jobs.

AnythingButThis · 26/04/2026 19:45

Omg! Do people really think this? Under Trump?

I meant if you had to choose between the USA or Pakistan.

Speak for yourself but as a woman I’d be in Florida.

Ok, responded too quick, so you mean uk as ‘mini Pakistan’ and that’s what people prefer the US too. Presumably because people are so scared by levels of immigration(or just quite racist)? And why pick on Pakistan in particular?

It’s strange that people who don’t want their town to become like London vote reform but people who actually live in London do not vote reform. Does not make sense at all.

I guess it depends what part of London you live in. There are some wonderful pockets of London. Then there are the hellscape parts of London which is what people mean when they say they don’t want their town to become like London.

Plus a large percentage of the London population are immigrants so why would they vote a party who base so much of their rhetoric around being anti immigration

Londoners from all ethnic backgrounds including white Londoners are often more than happy to live in areas which are significantly or predominantly Black, Asian or Latino for example.

They typically don’t want London to become more like the predominantly white towns outside of London that have scarcely any cultural diversity.

The ones who do have a problem usually scarper from London. I remember once in Glasgow this awful guy chatting me up in and saying he recently moved back from London as his area was full of Turkish and other immigrants. I was like ew no you can’t get my number 🤣

Opposite for me. Northerner and everyone I know will continue to vote for labour as it is the least worst option.

Have you not noticed the state of the country!??

ExpressCheckout · 24/04/2026 07:20

Well, I'm a "proud Northerner" and I think Reform/Brexiters should be deported.

I think Labour supporters should be deported!

Like removing the two child cap. Something the majority of the population did not want removed and Labour said they wouldn't remove if they hit into power. Great, democratic decision there....

Raising taxes on business so now we have rampant unemployment. Increasing youth MW when young people are already struggling to get a job.

Yes, great work!

Finally, someone with a brain!!👍

NHS waiting lists down. Economy growing. Less children in poverty.

Who would you like to pay for things? Someone has to pay tax and I don’t think businesses should be exempt.

Waiting lists are not down, I work for the NHS. Which economy is growing? certainly not ours. You obviously believe the constant lies that come out of TTK's mouth.

Teddybear23 · 29/04/2026 10:14

Boomer55 · 24/04/2026 07:41

Yes, I was wondering what they have improved and for who. 🙄

The NHS is still a shitshow, schools say their situation is getting worse, taxes are rising, unemployment is rising and companies are going bust at a rate of knots 🙄

Plus, the renters reform change, whilst good on paper, is increasing evictions and homelessness, with landlords throwing the towel in now.

Well said, spot on!

I'm going Green this time. Considering Labour but they've done too much I dislike. Reform would be hell.

Please read the Green's policies before you vote, they are not the Green party of the past.

justmeandthedogs · 24/04/2026 07:49

I can get a GP appointment. I got one within 4 days.

I waited 3 weeks for an operation and have never waited more than 2 or 3 hours in A&E. Maybe what you’re presenting with just isn’t that serious and thus is triaged?

You must be either lucky or live in a part of the country where services are better. I have been on a waiting list to see an ENT specialist for a year now.

What's problematic is that Farage is hearing people's outrage whereas the established parties aren't. Some will vote for Farage just on the basis that he wants to control immigration, scrap PIP for mild mh problems and scrap benefits for foreign citizens. If some of the other parties would agree to this then Farage wouldn't stand a chance. Because who in their right mind would want health care as in the US? That's what Farage wants- meaning that poor people will just not be able to get health care.

Farage has not said that about the NHS. Read his policy on it. He wants if free for all but people can pay into an insurance system if they want.
