If the Iran mission had led to an uprising and the overthrow of that regime he would now be a global superstar hero and this thread wouldn"t exist. Maybe he genuinely wants to stop their nuclear ambition, his ego prevents him acknowledging losses and setbacks though, a good political leader needs to be able to do that, this isn"t a TV show.

He is the most powerful man in the world with everything at his disposal yet a 3rd world country with it's fanatic leaders are defying him as are European countries. The military 'might' have justification to not carry out a nuclear strike order does not translate to a madman who has absolute authority to order launch definitely being thwarted.

It is absolutely true that in the 80's a nuclear war could have started owing to an error, and it was stopped by someone down the line questioning the apparent massive incoming launch.
But I'm not happy with having to take that gamble when there is an absolute warmongering lunatic in charge who has sacked any high up military men who have questioned him.
