This is what I’ve eaten over the last 7 days.
Does this seem like too much food to you or not a lot of food?
Female 5 foot 2.

Day 1

4 egg omelette with 2 pork chops and red pepper, sweet corn.
Snacks - half a 900g pack of cheddar cheese and half a 200g pack of mixed nuts spread out and picked on over the day.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 2

3 chicken thighs and 2 chicken legs with some veg.
Snacks - half a 900g pack of cheddar cheese and half a 200g pack of mixed nuts picked on throughout the day.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 3
4 egg omelette and pack of prawns, sweetcorn and spinach.
Snacks - half a 900g packet of cheddar cheese and half a 200g bag of Mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 4
Half a roast chicken picked at.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheese and half a packet of 200g nuts to pick throughout the day.
5 cups of decaf coffee.

Day 5
4 fried eggs, mushrooms, an avocado, tomatoes and bacon.
Snacks - half a pack of 900g cheddar cheese and half a packet of 200g mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 6
500g diced beef fried with red pepper and mushrooms.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheddar cheese and half a packet of 200g mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 7
1 Tin of tuna and salad.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheddar cheese and half packet of 200g mixed nuts.
1 bottle of white wine.

2 fillets of salmon with green beans, broccoli and red pepper.
Snacks - half a 900g packet of cheddar cheese and half a 200g packet of nuts.
5 cups of decaf coffee.
1 bottle of white wine.

I have used the term half a pack instead of (450g) cheese and 100g nuts because I thought people would be able to imagine a 900g block of cheese and 200g pack of nuts easier as that’s how they come.
Does this sound like too much food or not enough food please?
I typically eat one meal a day in the morning and pick on cheese and nuts sporadically for the rest of the day.
This is because I need to eat until I’m full or I will still feel hungry after so I eat a big main meal first thing as it works for me and I feel full.
The cheese and nuts are because of a craving for cheese. I love my cheese.

It's a wonder you haven't got gallstones with that diet. It's far far too high in fat

Yikes I don’t want those. I’m lucky no digestive issues so far.

How much cheese?!?! 🧀 wtf! This can’t be real.

Hankunamatata · 30/03/2026 13:13

Fruit and veg?
Id be worried about your bowel health

ClassicalQueen · 30/03/2026 13:14

450g of cheese a day is insane!

Overwhelmedandtired · 30/03/2026 13:14

ivyball · 30/03/2026 13:01

Well no probably not.
This thread has gone the opposite way that I was expecting, I thought my family were being ridiculous so I came to see what others thought.
I thought people were going to tell me I ate really healthy meals or that I should eat more because one meal a day isn’t enough.

One meal a day for most people isn't enough, and it doesn't appear to be enough for you as you mention regularly popping to the fridge for another bite of cheese.

The issue isn't the amount of food you eat, its the type of food. I would also say your activity levels are an issue as well, whatever your weight is.

DancingNotDrowning · 30/03/2026 13:14

Ok based on your last post OP I’m guessing you’re significantly over weight and your family are concerned.

They’ve been telling you that your eating is disordered and you need to reevaluate how you approach food and your denial is so strong that you think you are overweight because you are someone who is an extreme outlier in how their body reacts to food, rather than the reality which is that you overeat by a significant amount.

sound about right?

TinyTear · 30/03/2026 13:14

OK if you want one meal a day - but JESUS - I do 4 or 5 eggs if I am cooking eggs for two people not one!

For myself I do 2 eggs

and 500g of mince - that lasts a family of 4 for bolognese (sometimes with leftovers) - and no, this isn't the famed chicken that last a week (a whole chicken lasts us 2 meals - one roast and one supreme)

CautiousLurker2 · 30/03/2026 13:16

If you are aiming for keto/high protein this is not the healthy way to do it?

Omelette with a bit of cheese and lots of greens/spinach/broccoli and mushrooms. Meals should be a lean high quality protein (chicken, salmon, steak) and veggies and salad so that you are getting your five a day. As others say you are eating 1800 cals in cheese alone (100g of saturated fat, so dreadful for health reasons if eaten daily). I am fairly sure 200g of nuts is around 1200 cals and likely to cause gastric issues and selenium toxicity, esp if brazil nuts are in the mix. Diet should be based around low GI, fibrous veg/salads, high quality lean protein and some good quality dairy in reasonable portions. Not just cheese but low GI fruit, such as raspberries, can be eaten with sugar free/full fat plain yogurt and a handful of nuts and seeds for instance.

You have to be gaining weight on this, surely? And be constipated?!! I eat a low carb diet and lost 6+st doing so, as did my 18yo son. Our diet looked nothing like the one listed in OP’s opening post.

I’d recommend going on facebook and joining a keto life page where you can get recommendations and access to videos and ideas for a more balanced aprroach?

SoSoLong · 30/03/2026 13:17

You eat about twice as many calories as your body requires, I'd expect you to gain a pound a week at this rate.

Yes, I'm concerned about constipation from this post. My insides hurt just reading it!!

YourKonstantine · 30/03/2026 13:21

AI is very good at telling you nutrition etc objectively.

BoogieTownTop · 30/03/2026 13:21

Do you have veg or fruit at all?

Manxexile · 30/03/2026 13:21

You are eating a pound (450g) of cheese a day and you wonder if that is too much?

My wife and I eat a lot of cheese and it takes us 10 - 14 days to get through a 750g pack.

Nosejobnelly · 30/03/2026 13:22

I use 300g of cheddar for a macaroni cheese for 3-4 people!!!
I don’t eat much cheese myself anymore - only about 20g a day - as it aggravates my acid reflux.

Cordeliasdemonbabies · 30/03/2026 13:23

OP this is a picture of a 6'2" man holding a 6kg bag of cheddar. You eat more than 6kg of cheese a week. Its a catering pack sold to restaurants.

Can you not see how unusual and disordered that is?

To ask what you think of this typical food intake?
Pipsquiggle · 30/03/2026 13:23

If you massively cut down on your cheese, nuts and binge drinking, your diet would be ok - better with some more fruit & veg

Tbh my DS eats 4-5 eggs in a sitting, but he’s 6ft5. Even then I think it’s eggs(!)cessive.

Ginmonkeyagain · 30/03/2026 13:24

Are you sure of your measurements?

There are two of us and we like cheese. Yesterday I bought a 350g block of mature cheddar, a 150g block of hard goats cheese and a 100g block of parmesan.

I expect that to last us a couple of weeks at least (probably twice as long for the parmesan).

If nothing else you must be spending a bloody fortune on cheese!

NigellaDelia · 30/03/2026 13:25

A good way of cutting down on cheese is to buy a cheese slicer gadget ~ that way you can shave off some very thin slices and eat them with wholewheat crackers

HeidiLite · 30/03/2026 13:25

you are eating about twice as much as an inactive woman needs. You must be gaining weight on this diet?

DeanElderberry · 30/03/2026 13:25

A pound of cheese a day as a snack? yikes.

A pound of cheese or four eggs or the can of tuna would be enough protein for two days.

50 g of nuts is enough for one day's snack.

Add in some milk.

And loads of lettuce, broccoli, tomatoes, whatever veg you fancy. And some carbs.

SnowFrogJelly · 30/03/2026 13:27

Not healthy! What about your 5 a day

Pipsquiggle · 30/03/2026 13:27

Just googled it

You need to lower your daily cheese intake by circa 95%

Leavesandthings · 30/03/2026 13:29

I just noticed the part that you eat your massive meal for breakfast, and don't feel satisfied unless you are stuffed.

Along with seriously needing some guidance on nutrition, this suggests you have developed other unhealthy habits.

You shouldn't have to feel very full to be satisfied with a meal.
