AIBU to question media reports of Ant McPartlin’s wife’s age?

Ant McPartlin's wife was born in 1976, but somehow she is 47 according to all the reports in the media. When she got married in 2021 she was 43. How does that work?

People/journalists reading incorrect information??

I don't think it's unusual for 'celebs' to shave a couple years off. Also the press are just sloppy so probably just misprinted it a few times.

IF that's what happened here, I kind of get shaving 2 or 3 years off when you're a very young adult; but then I suppose you have to keep the narrative going indefinitely, even though surely nobody cares when you're 49 and your claimed age is 47?

Even so, if you're going to lie, why not go big and knock off a decade or so?! Or even more than that... you could end up with all of the tributes after you die wailing about how bitterly unfair it was for somebody so very young to be taken long before their time, even though you were actually 98

She's 50 this year if she was born in 76.

@Wickedlittledancer why is it catty? They had a baby in 2024 so it seems she was 47 or 48 at the time? It must have been either a donor egg or perhaps she froze hers years back, though I think she has 2 other kids so that’s unlikely.

She's not famous, nor is her dob that deep a thing that it needs to be in-depth researched, so it's probably just a mistaken date or age at one point, other journalists used the mistaken age or year.

It’s catty as you don’t know how they conceived and she was reported at 46 at the time, it is wholly possible it was her egg. Quite Franklh no one knows how old she is, and it is absolutely no one’s business. The op is bad enough wanting to know her age, now you’ve lept in, elbows out and decided how they conceived.

My dh doesn’t actually know how old he is. 😂 I mean, we can figure it out, but he has to stop and do the maths for a few minutes (he’s not old with dementia either, he’s 38, only know this because we had to work it out the other day). He had an accident a few years ago and got a concussion and was really loopy. The paramedics turned up and started asking him all these questions to assess for a brain injury, like what day is it? What year is it? How old are you?

We were both so flustered that we couldn’t work it out and I had to explain to the paramedic that this is normal, we don’t actually know how old he is without a calculator! 🤣 I think he thought we were both mad.

My guess is some journalist just copied content from a previous article and didn’t update the age because they’re lazy or using AI, which got it wrong.
