IF that's what happened here, I kind of get shaving 2 or 3 years off when you're a very young adult; but then I suppose you have to keep the narrative going indefinitely, even though surely nobody cares when you're 49 and your claimed age is 47?

Even so, if you're going to lie, why not go big and knock off a decade or so?! Or even more than that... you could end up with all of the tributes after you die wailing about how bitterly unfair it was for somebody so very young to be taken long before their time, even though you were actually 98

She’s not lied, she’s not a celeb, she’s not discussed her age , she doesn’t court publicity, it’s just journos getting it wrong.

I know a famous person and everything about them online had their DOB wrong. They'd randomly get cards from fans on their 'internet birthday'. I ended up fixing it on Wikipedia and now online it's mostly the correct one which meant when they had a big birthday recently they got the right aged cards for the first time in decades! So these things happen and sometimes there isn't a geek like me who bothers to correct it!

What an odd response! I see this all the time here. I doubt that the OP is actually worried, or concerned. I'm sure people can post about trivial things. It doesn't have to be about issues of world importance!

My dm shaved a few years from her age.
Now she's older its a pain when we have to help with insurance etc because we put her correct dob in and its not recognised on her account.
We're there saying dm what year of birth have you chosen on this account and she can't remember. 😅

I’d’ve thought they’d got her mixed up with 1st wife Lisa Armstrong. But according to my googling Lisa’s older than Anne, which surprised me as I thought she was older than Lisa & Ant.

I know what you mean OP. It doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things and who really cares anyway but it is sloppy journalism.

Put the age, don't put the age who cares but if you are going to bother adding it to an article (which is usually irrelevant anyway, thanks Daily Fail) at least get it bloody right! I quite often notice this with ages. No I don't really care but why add it if it's incorrect or you don't know? Just leave it out!!!!

It’s catty as you don’t know how they conceived and she was reported at 46 at the time, it is wholly possible it was her egg. Quite Franklh no one knows how old she is, and it is absolutely no one’s business. The op is bad enough wanting to know her age, now you’ve lept in, elbows out and decided how they conceived.

It’s not catty or judgmental to wonder - it’s extremely unusual for someone in mid-40s to conceive naturally but noticing that biological fact is not the same thing as criticising or condemning their behaviour. They’re in the public eye and only yesterday Ant was reported in the media saying he wished he’d started earlier and had 10 kids so they obviously acknowledge they left it very late.

Because its extremely important to know how old women are. How else are we to assess if they look good for their age or not? To judge whether their life choices are age appropriate? To identify whether they are likely to have had work done?

My dh doesn’t actually know how old he is. 😂 I mean, we can figure it out, but he has to stop and do the maths for a few minutes (he’s not old with dementia either, he’s 38, only know this because we had to work it out the other day). He had an accident a few years ago and got a concussion and was really loopy. The paramedics turned up and started asking him all these questions to assess for a brain injury, like what day is it? What year is it? How old are you?

We were both so flustered that we couldn’t work it out and I had to explain to the paramedic that this is normal, we don’t actually know how old he is without a calculator! 🤣 I think he thought we were both mad.

My guess is some journalist just copied content from a previous article and didn’t update the age because they’re lazy or using AI, which got it wrong.

It's not just your husband. I need to work it out too. Maybe it's because I'm in denial and think I'm still 28

I wasn't really referring to her personally, but rather to the potential situation and the people who do claim to be younger than they are.

Not that it makes any difference to me, anyway; if I like an actual celebrity and their work, I don't really care how old or young they are. It's very sad when (usually female) celebs do feel pressure in the industry to lower their age - it really isn't the most interesting or relevant thing about you and your career at all.

I always have to think carefully about how old I am when asked, and sometimes have to do the maths in my head.

I'm perfectly fine with other personal information that doesn't keep constantly changing! Most people would be the same with their address if houses got officially renumbered every year!
