If we didn't notice, then human race would die out! Finding someone of the opposite sex attractive is all part of the process.

I completely agree that objectifying the female form got beyond that in recent times and it was right that previous generations stood up to that.

But if it's now getting to the point that you can't admire a person from afar for whatever attribute, and not be able to say so, then it's going too far in the other direction.

Appreciating and evaluating the opposite sex is, and always has been a human thing, not a male thing. Heck it’s not a human thing, actually, it’s all animals. It’s not remotely “disgusting” or “unpleasant”, it’s normal and natural.

But we do compare and find some more sexually appealing than others! That’s - in part, at least - how we choose one… supposing they find us attractive too!
It’s not reducing anyone to an object; all animals, human or not, sexually evaluate.

There are other factors involved too, of course: I, for example, like a man to be highly intelligent and be good fun too, but given the choice (as if!) of two such men I’d pick the hot, toned handsome one over the dad-bodded one.

There is a big difference between privately making a judgement on how attractive you find someone -which is, as you say , a perfectly natural thing, - to coming on a public forum and inviting people to " rate" the attributes of men who are going about their normal business. As OP has done on this thread

Calling it " light hearted" is akin to calling men's discussion of women's physical attributes as " banter".
