In fact, I'd go full on GB News if they tried to hide them! How will i know who I like best?

And yes, I'd also heavily judge a man for doing the same to the female athletes 🤷‍♀️

Live footage of me ^

I was about to say some of the sprinters are too big for me and then realised how that might come across and now I’ve said it anyway 😂

MonsteraDeliciosa · 21/03/2026 08:30

I can’t believe the outrage here!
Yet another thread where the pious are trying to convince us that sexual interest/attraction are bad and wrong; and worse, that you can’t even think what you like in front of your own telly.
How ridiculous and joyless.

Can you imagine an online forum of men discouraging each other from ogling, judging, or sexually evaluating women? It has never happened. It never will.

Noone can stop people thinking what they like. It isn't outrage or piety to think that not everyone shares every passing thought that enters their head though

Why not?

Its an Internet forum to discuss the random shit in our lives and heads?

You dont have to agree, fair enough, but i think I can share any passing thought that enters my head, should it not be bigoted -

(which i dont have - for my love of all things cheeky and gossipy, i'm actually a very inclusive liberal person 🤷‍♀️) -

God forbid a woman try to laugh on a Friday night indoors

How is it lighthearted to make fun of people competing in sport.
If someone came along to your place of work and started making fun of you would you consider that lighthearted?

Making fun of people doing their jobs is British tbh

As long as youre punching up ofc

Have i got news for you, private eye, mock the week, the last leg, the twitter commentary for #thechase, the mumsnet thread for MAFS

Making fun is what we do!

But I wasnt Making fun anyway - I was appreciating and ranking men 🤷‍♀️

This is a chat forum though! It’s for sharing random shit.

It is double standards, but it's almost impossible not to notice. Those suits are unsupportive....

I don't compare though, just giggle occasionally.

I am not proud of this.

I'm sure men are doing the same when they watch the gymnastics or volleyball championships 🤭

MN is a site that largely hates sex.

Much of the time posters get away with framing it as "feminism" because it's easy to call the male sex drive disgusting and deviant. Threads like this expose the fact that they hate the female sex drive just as much.

(I'm right there peering with you, OP, though I wasn't watching the athletics.)

Agreed.

There’s a really odd core of Mumsnet users who honestly seem to believe that finding male bodies attractive isn’t something nice middle-class women do.

If we didn't notice, then human race would die out! Finding someone of the opposite sex attractive is all part of the process.

I completely agree that objectifying the female form got beyond that in recent times and it was right that previous generations stood up to that.

But if it's now getting to the point that you can't admire a person from afar for whatever attribute, and not be able to say so, then it's going too far in the other direction.

Edited to ask if Colin Firth in wet britches was OK because it was literature?

Yes, spangly make up aside, they are very under developed. And very young.

I would judge hard.

At 44 I’m old enough to remember the media obsession with “Linford’s lunchbox” and that it came up in court, leading to a judge asking what it meant 😂

Sad isn't it that women fought for, and are fighting for, equal rights and equality in society but so many women see this just as the opportunity to take on the unpleasant and disgusting behaviours of men?

Don’t be ridiculous.
Appreciating and evaluating the opposite sex is, and always has been a human thing, not a male thing. Heck it’s not a human thing, actually, it’s all animals. It’s not remotely “disgusting” or “unpleasant”, it’s normal and natural.

Being feminist doesn’t require you to be asexual.

I'm not talking about not finding people attractive.
I'm talking about OP " ranking " men . Reducing them to objects. You know how men do with women? And all this gross 10/ 10 terminology. Demeaning to all concerned.

Tennis..... Showing my age - Bjorn Borg was plastered all over my bedroom wall back in the day, and it had nothing to do with my appreciation of his double-handed backhand 😜

But we do compare and find some more sexually appealing than others! That’s - in part, at least - how we choose one… supposing they find us attractive too!
It’s not reducing anyone to an object; all animals, human or not, sexually evaluate.

There are other factors involved too, of course: I, for example, like a man to be highly intelligent and be good fun too, but given the choice (as if!) of two such men I’d pick the hot, toned handsome one over the dad-bodded one.

There is a big difference between privately making a judgement on how attractive you find someone -which is, as you say , a perfectly natural thing, - to coming on a public forum and inviting people to " rate" the attributes of men who are going about their normal business. As OP has done on this thread

Calling it " light hearted" is akin to calling men's discussion of women's physical attributes as " banter".
