In fact, I'd go full on GB News if they tried to hide them! How will i know who I like best?

And yes, I'd also heavily judge a man for doing the same to the female athletes 🤷‍♀️

Live footage of me ^

And fwiw, men are judging women's looks and are doing so in abundance

Its life - as long as they don't bring that shirt to mumsnet, or use it to oppress me and other women, who am I to care 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Where do you find all these terrible gifs of which you seem to be so fond OP?

So why isn't it double standards for you to do it and bring "that shit" to Mumsnet? Is it OK for women to rank men's attributes because they're women? I thought we'd moved past the days of men having topless calendars in the office

There is a big difference between privately making a judgement on how attractive you find someone -which is, as you say , a perfectly natural thing, - to coming on a public forum and inviting people to " rate" the attributes of men who are going about their normal business. As OP has done on this thread

Calling it " light hearted" is akin to calling men's discussion of women's physical attributes as " banter".

I think perhaps you and I are in a minority here. The OP thinks it's "funny" and others seem to agree. Opinions vary.

Have you actually read OPs posts?
Nowhere has she “invited” anyone to do anything, far less rate anyone’s attributes.

She merely asked if SWBU for making the private judgements that you yourself have deemed OK in your post.

I understand i'm in the minority .
But I think it's important to voice the opposite opinion

Firstly because double standards is a criticism quite often levelled at MN, sometimes justifiably as in this case.

Secondly , I know I have a lot of faults but being a sheep is not one of them and I'm certainly not going to nod along and let people assume there is only one point of view on a subject .

Yes, fair enough. That's why I'm putting the opposite point of view too, but as I said it seems we're outliers really. Still if the OP thinks it's "funny" and people agree... after all any random crap in people's heads goes. Apparently.

Yes I'm pleased you agree.

But I don't find this thread remotely amusing. I haven't been a teenager for a long time amd this thread is one of those that make me lose all respect for MN.

But I wasnt Making fun anyway - I was appreciating and ranking men 🤷‍♀️

Sad isn't it that women fought for, and are fighting for, equal rights and equality in society but so many women see this just as the opportunity to take on the unpleasant and disgusting behaviours of men?

The fact that you think appreciating and admiring human bodies purely for their sexual attractiveness is somehow an intrinsically masculine trait - and that women who do it are imitating men and therefore being unfeminine - is incredibly sexist and misogynistic.

You’re exactly the same as tedious men who tell women off for being ‘unladylike’ or who called young women ‘ladettes’ in the late 1990s for going out and being loud and enjoying themselves. Whenever women stop being ashamed of their sexuality, or stop being meek and quiet and decorous, someone will come along to tell them they’re ’behaving like men’. And it’s misogynistic bullshit every time.

ilovesooty · 21/03/2026 16:55

No one mentioned highbrow discussion. No one's stopping you enjoying objectifying men either. I'm sure you wouldn't want to stop people expressing a different opinion. As I said, you find it funny. Opinions vary. As you said, if people don't care for this random shit they can scroll on. However if you put it on AIBU some people might disagree with you.

I've still not recovered from the pole vaulter who knocked the bar off with his cock. Apparently he made more money from only fans afterwards than he had done from athletics. Fair play to him for leaning into the mishap and making money from it.

I don't want high brow discussion.
But I don't expect to see women emulating men's bad behaviour.

But it’s not emulating men’s behaviour!

Women have always looked admiringly and desirously on attractive men, even before Emmeline Pankhurst or the Equal Pay Act!
