AIBU - primary age son wants to take BBQ spare ribs to school tomorrow

11 yo son has come back from his father's (divorced) with leftover takeaway BBQ spare ribs. Lots of sauce. He is in a special-needs class which can get rather rambuctious at times.

I think allowing him to take them is asking for trouble. Just ... no. He thinks I'm unreasonable and so does his father.

AIBU - he should be allowed to take them
YANBU - he should not be allowed to take them.

Well this morning he thought about his nice clothes for the play today and said he'd have the spare ribs tonight. He was rather upset about not taking them to school yesterday evening so he must have slept on it and changed his mind.

He is high-IQ and right on the line with autism, so when he sets his mind on something it's very hard for an outside person to change it. Compliments on his sensible thinking were given!
