To think that DS2 (4 next week) really is comfortable in his cot

Having just put him to bed and thinking about his birthday next week and thought - maybe it's time for a bed

so, AIBU to have kept him in his cot (with the front taken off of course!) until 4 years old?

(It is a cot, not a cot bed btw

I've not posted in this section before - does the stoning hurt much?

so he is in, what is effectively, a small bed? and he fits? and he isn't complaining?
If so - no problem is there?

yes that is a good way of looking at it squirrels. Dont know how long it is - how long are cots? He is quite a big lad though and stretched out probably reaches the end! And he often falls out and I find him asleep on the floor down beside his bedside table cos it isnt very wide

but he has never complained!

he sleeps well ruby

cat - we are happy, yes (well as far as sleeping arrangeemtns go!)

I dont want people to be mean to me - just thought it might be a fun topic. (I wasnt really serious btw!)

Totally up to you. Even when he falls out he does not wake up, not very nice finding him on the floor though, for you I mean. So sounds like he might benefit with having more room.

You could keep the purchase of the big boys bed for a birthday or starting school as a treat type thing.

Dont ye stress now, there are worse things going on in the world right now and your little boy has a lovely mummy who worries about him

Eulalia · 17/06/2008 19:53

My ds1 was in a cot till he was 5! He moved straight from that to a top bunk (with sides). We were renovating and his room wasn't ready and he had to sleep in the same room as us. It was a proper cot with sides but he never complained either. Kept the side on as I felt he'd hurt himself as our room was rather cramped. Length wise was fine but width did get a bit restricted but he is a big 8, nearly 9 year old now and no harm done!

We only stone you if you give him haribo or fruit shoot in the cot

cmotdibbler · 17/06/2008 19:57

If you and he are happy, why not ? DS will be in his cot (with the middle panel taken out) till he doesn't fit in it anymore.

I've got a nice overripe tomato here if you like ? But can't throw either, so can I pass it over, and you can squash it in yourself ?

naswm · 17/06/2008 19:57

Kimi · 17/06/2008 20:21
