CA schools banning Cheetos?

YourPinkHedgehog · 14/03/2026 17:49

Hey I'm just wondering has your school started banning cheetos? Or anything that has food dyes? I saw this article and I am wondering if it has been enacted or enforced and if it's for students, faculty, all parent visitors?

Does that mean we can get a citation for having Doritos at school? Like similar to smoking near children, at the park, school is likely an infraction of the law?

Unfortunately, there are too many high level BMI individuals working at schools setting a bad example. But they just hide behind fat shaming, or there is this social norm we can't make a 40 year old adult stop eating McDonanlds or Oreos. Like somehow they should still have dignity even if they are 400 lb and can't get out of bed, or use a rascal. Like come on, how are kids going to be D1 athletes if school staff are like 300 lb McDonald or donut addicts? But they will get mad if a kid brings weed to school, but won't have the same standard if a 300lb balding man is teaching PE then goes to KFC after work. Like maybe it should be fine if they are 300 lb but they must be on a strict diet mandated by government officials.

Some moms even still eat fries and drink strawberry lemonade, which should be considered like child abuse. If eating doritos and donuts as a teacher in front of kids is socially acceptable, then I want to start smoking cigarettes in front of kids and not be judged

I saw a youtube video of a fitness guy protesting curmbl cookie and so many parents say it's for their kids. Then one day, I'm going to buy beer and cigarettes for a 5 year old and say it's for my kids and I don't want to be judged for it.

I don’t see those things. Sad

Am I really living a full life if I haven’t seen a rascal at Disneyland?

I've never even been to Disneyland. Wouldn't go to the US if you paid me at the moment.

Ooh, I live nowhere near Skipton but sounds like I should make a trip!

Well worth it on a summer day, there's the castle, woods you can walk round and boat trips on the canal; also a market most days and independent shops. Easy to combine with a short break to York or the Lake District.

Me neither. I wouldn’t go to Disneyland under any circumstances. Rascals or not.

You again @YourPinkHedgehog with the strawberry lemonade, didn't you get the message when you thread was deleted yesterday?

Oh I love a fat rascal. OP where do you stand on Scampi Fries?

The only thing better than Scampi Fries are the ones in the same packaging that look like Frazzles.

Read this while waiting for my McDonald's to arrive!

I have been clean from McDonalds for about one week now. I had a sausage mcgriddle thing because there was a $2 coupon but I still treated like felony level activity promising my trainer, who is a former D1 athlete that I would try only eat some of it. For that day, I just made low carb tortilla & turkey wraps when I got to the beach. Even though all those tourist were probably eating $10-15 hot dogs.

And sometime this week, I ordered a iced coffee, sugar free, and cream. Hopefully I didn't commit any felony level activity. But instead of eating a cheese burger, I brought a cooler of low carb tortilla and turkey to go with my drink. And used the cup to get diet coke. Trainer said diet coke is fine. But big macs, shamrock shakes, and cheeseburgers are like felony level activity.

Are you in the USA OP? I imagine rules around both schools and food are different there to the UK .

Yes I am in USA. I am not aware if this forum is UK based. I assumed every internet forum was based from USA, but I guess "mumt" is suppose to be British way to say mom.

I heard UK had high obesity rate, but USA takes the crown for highest obesity rate and I was part of it.

This is rambling nonsense.

What point are you trying to make?

They sound like an American? Whats a CA school? Whats a D1 athlete?
And I don’t know any uk person who says ‘mom’
Maybe the poster can give us some background info on this?

I think your trainer sounds a bit unhinged. Although I guess they are using hyperbolic language to get you to stick to your diet so they can advertise about their good results.

The USA and the UK - two countries separated by a common language 😀

Big Macs, like everything else, are fine in moderation. Once a month - no issue. Several times a week - unhealthy.

I agree with the majority of your post - but people do say ‘mom’ in the West Midlands. As ‘mam’ is used in other areas. You’ve obviously never been on one of the regional dialect threads on here!

Nobody can resist licking that off.

Are Cheetos the same as Cheesy Wotsits?

Why is the fact that the 300lb man teaching PE 'balding' a problem ? You don't need hair to teach PE in the UK, maybe it's different in the US now you have wig wearing president.

😂

Yeah I can see how Trump got in…
