CA schools banning Cheetos?

YourPinkHedgehog · 14/03/2026 17:49

Hey I'm just wondering has your school started banning cheetos? Or anything that has food dyes? I saw this article and I am wondering if it has been enacted or enforced and if it's for students, faculty, all parent visitors?

Does that mean we can get a citation for having Doritos at school? Like similar to smoking near children, at the park, school is likely an infraction of the law?

Unfortunately, there are too many high level BMI individuals working at schools setting a bad example. But they just hide behind fat shaming, or there is this social norm we can't make a 40 year old adult stop eating McDonanlds or Oreos. Like somehow they should still have dignity even if they are 400 lb and can't get out of bed, or use a rascal. Like come on, how are kids going to be D1 athletes if school staff are like 300 lb McDonald or donut addicts? But they will get mad if a kid brings weed to school, but won't have the same standard if a 300lb balding man is teaching PE then goes to KFC after work. Like maybe it should be fine if they are 300 lb but they must be on a strict diet mandated by government officials.

Some moms even still eat fries and drink strawberry lemonade, which should be considered like child abuse. If eating doritos and donuts as a teacher in front of kids is socially acceptable, then I want to start smoking cigarettes in front of kids and not be judged

I saw a youtube video of a fitness guy protesting curmbl cookie and so many parents say it's for their kids. Then one day, I'm going to buy beer and cigarettes for a 5 year old and say it's for my kids and I don't want to be judged for it.

Sorry you've kind of lost me. From what I understand

Schools on your area have started banning crisps that contain certain additives

This makes you angry because some teachers are fat, so in you opinion, are in no position to judge others food choices

You think you should give your young child cigarettes and alcohol to prove some kind of point?

TBH, I'd probably start over with the thread. It's to difficult to understand what exactly you're trying to discuss, so you'll just get pages of "eh, what are you on about"

Stay off the weed OP, your post is a rambling mess.

and can't get out of bed, or use a rascal.
What is a rascal in this context?

I think it's a walker or mobility scooter?

My school in 2002 had to ban Sunny D because we were all basically shitfaced off chemicals 🤣

I tried sunny D as an adult a good few years ago, it wasn't the same it wasn't luminous and didn't have that slimy syrupy texture. God damn government taking the e numbers 😁

Mochudubh · 14/03/2026 18:28

Is a rascal like a Rollator?

In the same way that caravans have names like "Monza" and "Swift", when they're anything but.

Firstbornunicorn · 14/03/2026 18:28

Read this while waiting for my McDonald's to arrive!

Tigerbalmshark · 14/03/2026 18:29

OP, this is a rascal in the Uk. They are very delicious but no idea what they have to do with Californian schools.

And we don’t work in lbs, so nobody has any idea what 300lbs is in kg or stones. I assume it’s a lot?

ChinaPlates · 14/03/2026 18:29

Rascal is very definitely an underused word.

I agree about the M&S wotsits. 😋

I would say that in the UK most teachers are not 300lbs as they don’t have time to eat anything.

Mochudubh · 14/03/2026 18:33

Now that I think about it, wasn't a Rascal a small van, liable to tipping over?

Maybe that's what the OP means.

Bear in mind, @Tigerbalmshark , that those are Fat Rascals and likely to incite the OP further (unless they're Cheeky Little ones, but they don't look it).

This is rambling nonsense.

What point are you trying to make?

This. It makes no sense.

rightoguvnor · 14/03/2026 18:35

It’s like how we say “get the hoover out” when we have a Dyson. Or “I feel so old this morning I need a zimmer frame” when other brands of walking frame are available,
.
Anyhoo, OP, our current war here is to stop that simpering teacher on the Muller ad licking the top of her yogurt pot since kids everywhere are licking the tops of all sorts of unsuitable things. The only distraction seems to be chucking them a bag of Wotsits.

Rascal are those mobility scooters you see obese people at Walmart using for shopping. Or Disneyland, they are everywhere at Disneyland.

You do realise this is a uk site and we have Tesco and Alton Towers.

GlomOfNit · 14/03/2026 18:38

I mean, I know MN is online and therefore by definition international, but OP, have you considered looking for a US-based and oriented parenting forum? Most posters here won't understand what a '300lb donut addict' actually looks like, in terms of overweight-ness! As others have pointed out, UK and EU food regs are often very different from US ones in terms of what they'll allow, so there isn't a lot of common ground here.

CheddarCheeseAndCrispSandwich · 14/03/2026 18:38

Good lord…I need a lie down after reading that!! WTAF are you on about? 🤯🤯

Yes I should be able to judge someone's food choices if they are allowed to judge what an alcohlic is or a weed addict is.

If these adults we can't judge of their food choices can eat whatever they want then I want to start smoking cigarettes in front of kids and not be judged.

There's a bakery in Skipton that sells something very similar to a rascal, called a rapscallion. They always have them in the window - it's opposite the Oxfam shop - if you're ever there, you should try one!

Am I really living a full life if I haven’t seen a rascal at Disneyland?

Oh I love a fat rascal. OP where do you stand on Scampi Fries?

Weeelokthen · 14/03/2026 18:43

Why would anyone want to eat cheetos in the first place, when there are the far superior Wotsits

SleepingStandingUp · 14/03/2026 18:43

So you WANT cheetos banning?? Because there's too many fat people working in school?

You're angry about 400lb people too even though thry can't get out of bed to work in a school?
Why do you care about the pe teachers hair?.
And you want the Government to make anyone who's over 300 lbs go on a diet by law?
And to also charge mothers who consume fries and lemonade with child abuse?
So your answer to this whole eating food in front of kids is to increase their disease risk by making them inhale secondary smoke. And because some people give their kids cake you want to give yours alcohol and cigarettes?

Did I get all that right?

Are you drunk or high??

AmyDudley · 14/03/2026 18:43

Why is the fact that the 300lb man teaching PE 'balding' a problem ? You don't need hair to teach PE in the UK, maybe it's different in the US now you have wig wearing president.
