OP I think others are misunderstanding your first post.
FWIW I completely agree with you, these jabs are being abused now - half of Hollywood is wandering around anorexic. Oprah Winfry looks like a hip might snap at any second.

No. I understand perfectly. Op does not understand that prescribers take money then do the final checks to approve if they are registered pharmacies. There are published and very clear prescribing guidelines. US celebrities are completely irrelevant to prescribing practices in the uk.

Because i work in the health industry and i and others will do the best to stop this weight loss private jab industry.

Hmm.
”work in the health industry”
Suitably vague. Are you a pt or wellness person of some sort?
You certainly don’t sound like an actual medic to me.
I’m sure Eli Lily and Novo Nordisk are trembling in their boots.

BelleEpoque27 · 11/03/2026 16:46

Which provider, OP? One of the regulated ones? Or off the back of a lorry?

This is a very silly thread - you sound quite thick, tbh. GLP1 medication has its place for people who struggle with their weight, which you clearly do not. If people mis-use the medication, that is not different to people mis-using other prescription medication like painkillers or sleeping pills.

BMW6 · 11/03/2026 16:47

I don't understand why you are so shocked that some corrupt people will capitalise and piggyback onto anything that will make them money!?

You don't know what's actually in the jabs, the criminals running it won't give a fuck whether you're overweight or not, or if whatever they're selling you is real or kills you!

Get real OP, they just want your money so they'll tell you anything to get it.

whatcanthematterbe81 · 11/03/2026 16:49

Damn that’s annoying, I had to lie my ass off and I could have just been honest 😂

xanthomelana · 11/03/2026 16:49

Dexterrr · 11/03/2026 16:24

You work in the 'health industry'

Do you mean you are a Slimming World leader or something, and your numbers are falling? I expect so

Anyone who works in actual healthcare is thrilled with WLI, the most transformative health intervention in years

I was thinking exactly the same thing 😂

Allseeingallknowing · 11/03/2026 16:52

dementedpixie · 11/03/2026 15:21

Do you actually want them or were you testing them to see how ethical they were about who they prescribe to?

That’s what I assumed

SilenceInside · 11/03/2026 16:55

Spending £265 of your own money just to be outraged on Mumsnet seems a bit... odd.

Isekaied · 11/03/2026 16:57

I think she's losing business to the jabs

Jane143 · 11/03/2026 16:59

At the prescription s the age they will ask for photos and refuse you

Enyastar · 11/03/2026 17:00

I've just had my online consultation.
Yes i passed the threshold.
My jabs are 'in the post'.

Am i a sports journalist...yes i am.

SilenceInside · 11/03/2026 17:04

“Sports journalist” hmm.

@EnyastarWhat are these “local health authorities” of which you speak, and why would a “primary care provider” care about what an online pharmacy does??

Ineedanewsofa · 11/03/2026 17:05

Receipts or it didn’t happen #ragebait

Ineedanewsofa · 11/03/2026 17:06

Also if you are a journalist @Enyastar your proof readers/sub editors must do a lot of overtime

If you hope it reaches national news outlets why won’t you name the pharmacy on here? You keep avoiding the question and it makes the whole thing sound fake.

OhWise1 · 11/03/2026 17:07

So you've lied about your height and weight and paid £265 for something you don't want or need?

What a muppet!!

Branleuse · 11/03/2026 17:08

SuzyFandango · 11/03/2026 16:09

But the NHS won't prescribe it.
Why don't you want people to be able to lose weight?

People who are not overweight do not need to lose it, and the risks of these jabs are thus not outweighed by health benefits in doing so.

Well if they're not overweight and they wanted to lose weight then that's their lookout imo. It's expensive and there can be side effects and you have to still put the work in. It would be much better if the NHS would keep an eye on the people using it. My gp is very supportive of me using it because my liver is not fatty anymore. My rheumatologist is supportive because of the improvements to my hypermobility issues and joint pain and mobility. My gynaecologist is supportive because of the improvements to my prolapse symptoms and incontinence means I have been discharged!
Despite all that, when I asked my gp surgery if they could monitor me because sometimes I get things that I'm not sure if they are just side effects of mj. I've been told no. I should just be monitored by medexpress apparently.

I think it's shit that it's been harder and harder to get on the NHS, but the answer is not to try and stop private prescribers.
You don't have a clue about what people are dealing with and why they choose what they choose.
We aren't trying to look like fckn Kelly and Sharon Osborne, which iswhat it feels like the general publics opinion is.
Just trying to get our health under control.

OhWise1 · 11/03/2026 17:08

Are you a 'sports journalist' on your own youtube channel? 😂

Sooooooooo who prescribed you ?

we want to see evidence of the invoice an pen

no one charges £265 for 2.5

SilenceInside · 11/03/2026 17:13

@Enyastar as a health professional you'll know that it's the GPhC that regulate pharmacies, and/or the CQC. Those are the bodies that you need to complain to, as well as telling the pharmacy that you are going to notify their regulatory bodies.

NewZebra · 11/03/2026 17:15

Weird because you usually pay at the ordering stage, before a pharmacist has even looked at your order and approved it or not.

No one did. A quick look on the monj website shows the prices and even with p&p there’s nowhere charging that much, most are under £200 for the 2.5mg before any discounts.
