To think Kelly Osborne must have body dysmorphia?

I’ve just seen a photo of Kelly Osborne, having not seen one for years. I don’t tend to keep up with celeb gossip but this photo actually shocked me. She looks about 55, despite being only 40, and so frail because of how much weight she’s lost. She can’t possibly think she looks good. I think she must have body dysmorphia. I can see how growing up in the spotlight somewhere like LA, being surrounded by ridiculously beautiful people, where cosmetic surgery and being a size zero is standard, must have been very difficult for her, especially as she has been overweight for most of life. Do you think she’s able to recognise how awful she looks but is just unable to stop herself losing weight & getting surgery and she’ll never be satisfied? Or do you think she thinks she actually looks good?

I think people need to stop going on about it. There are multiple threads on this poor woman.
If she does have body dysmorphia then I doubt a load of internet discourse about how 'awful' she looks is going to help is it?
I believe she has also addressed the speculation about her weight and said it's down to the grief of losing her dad. Which makes all this talk about it even more unpalatable really

Wildviolet · 02/03/2026 08:53

I think they look like clowns.
Not just the weight but the facial surgery, fillers and the make up.
I can only presume they both think it a good look.
Where that tips from stupidity and vanity into mental illness is a tricky question.

OvernightBloats · 02/03/2026 09:23

He has just lost her Dad. Grief can really affect appetite.

Another76543 · 02/03/2026 09:33

Why do people think it’s ok to criticise the appearance of others? It’s cruel and unnecessary, whoever they are. I believe that Kelly Osbourne has made a statement saying she’s going through a tough time. Can’t people have a little compassion rather than judging? It’s never ok to criticise someone’s appearance.

SG1FirstTimeWatcher · 02/03/2026 10:51

I think its sad - there is a woman who has grown up with the world critising her looks her behaviour Her! I dont think I would have coped any better to be honest - i was a shitty teenager, but I wasn't a child of a person who was out for fame at any price (Sharon!!)

And this is the result - a woman that looks unhappy and very ill

I know I am adding to the media, but it is heartbreaking to see her.

Theeternalrocksbeneath · 02/03/2026 11:05

Jesus fucking Christ, why WHY do people feel the need to be so fucking unkind? What business is it of yours, OP, if she has body dysmorphia or not? Why the fake concern? You don’t know her, why should matter in the slightest if she’s unwell or not?

Kelly Osbourne is a prime example of the nastiness that surrounds famous women. She’s been “too fat” all her life and now she’s “too thin”.

Why do we feel the need to comment? Why can’t we leave people - famous or not - to crack on with their lives and their business without commenting on their appearance? If we could somehow just manage to not be unkind, wouldn’t the world be a much happier place?

brendaschmenda · 02/03/2026 11:10

I think body dysmorphia and eating disorders are a lot more prevalent than people think.

I think a lot of people struggle to see themselves clearly, but the availability of weight loss drugs has now given them the ability to make drastic drastic changes.

She has always carried a little extra weight. She has suddenly been given a tool to enable her to get thin, and like many people, is obviously struggling to regulate herself.

For years she’s been told by the media that she’s fat, no wonder she’s losing as much as she can.

It’s very easily done and very sad.

WorriedRelative · 02/03/2026 11:10

I don't think she's as worryingly thin as her face suggests. Look at her arms in that picture, they look like the arms of someone very slim but not malnourished or ill.

The changes to her face are surgical. I don't know exactly what. It is obviously a look she wants and one others are also pursuing with things like buccal fat removal being popular to get hollow/sucked in cheeks.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 02/03/2026 11:13

Please leave her alone. Numerous threads going on at the moment claiming concern and dissecting her appearance, if she does have an issue then total strangers discussing it on a public forum really won’t help.

malificent7 · 02/03/2026 11:14

Her body looks toned and slim and healthy but her face looks full of fillers/ botox.

augustusglupe · 02/03/2026 11:15

Jesus Christ!!! How awful she looks? About 55?

What a nasty thread you’ve started OP. Never mind though eh? You’ll get a lot of negative comments about Kelly on here which is clearly what you’re hoping for.

She’s a young woman & still very much looks like a young woman by the way…albeit going through a bad time. Nice of you to add to the hell this girl is going through 😡
Also, surgery? What on earth are you going on about?!!

Disgusting thread.

usedtobeaylis · 02/03/2026 11:16

Leave her alone. Fucking hell people have been banging on about this woman's looks and criticising her for decades. Leave her alone.

Thedogscollar · 02/03/2026 11:18

Will she see this. NO
If she did would it help her. NO
Stop criticising other people's bodies, you wouldn't like it if this was you or your daughter or indeed any family member.

FurForksSake · 02/03/2026 11:18

Why is it ok to comment? If she does have body dysmorphia then she has an illness, if she has an eating disorder, she has an illness, if she has an underlying health conduction causing this, she has an illness. She’s grieving and in the public eye, she’s obviously had struggles with her weight very publicly in the past. I think for most people in her situation they’d be struggling and people piling on to discuss her isn’t supportive or helpful or pointing anything out she doesn’t already know.

HesarealJacquelineHigh · 02/03/2026 11:19

Yet another thread where people say Tattle should be banned for this kind of stuff but saying it on Mumsnet is all fine

batshitaboutcatshit · 02/03/2026 11:29

I feel sorry for you OP - it’s often a sign of low self esteem when people criticise others looks.

NerrSnerr · 02/03/2026 11:42

She’s already posted saying that she’s going through a really hard time and people’s online comments are making it worse. If she’s unwell having ransoms trying to diagnose her online with only photos as a frame of reference. Also remember that only the worst ones will be in the papers because they know that ‘concerned’ folk will be all over it. Leave her alone.

nomas · 02/03/2026 11:53

I think there is a line between criticising women’s appearances and also being able to say that plastic surgery is not ok.

The pendulum has swung too far towards normalising things like buccal fat removal and fillers and people need to be able to say that plastic surgery does not buy you happiness.

The future for young women is genuinely bleak if this becomes the norm and people shouting down those who are worried about this are not helpful.

Why do you think that? Loads of Hollywood women have been as skinny as she is now since the year dot. She was bigger and constantly bullied about it. Now she's comformed to the Hollywood norm. Everyone right now in the industry looks ozempic skinny and she's just one of many. She's also just lost her dad.

UncannyFanny · 02/03/2026 12:04

It’s not unkind stating the obvious here. This isn’t an eating disorder or illness. They’ve made no secret of their use (dangerous over use?) of weight loss injections. This isn’t a healthy kind of weight loss that any of us would want our daughters to be inspired by. This is skeletal wasting away. I don’t understand how people can’t see how desperately unhealthy this looks. If this is what Ozempic does to healthy young women then it needs to be banned.

Swiftie1878 · 02/03/2026 12:05

Yet more woman on woman abuse…
You would never discuss a man in this manner. The body-shaming is disgusting. Leave the poor woman alone.

I though this her arms are toned and slim she looks like she exercises. I think facially she’s just chosen procedures that accentuate bone structure. She’s recently lost her dad and grief can be hard physically.

100%

It's depressing to see all the threads on here which seem to be relishing the criticism.
