I keep seeing people saying this. It is worth mentioning, he’s arrested for passing government secrets. Apparently we are fine with people having sex with trafficked girls, but if they tell finance bros confidential information about investment opportunities in South East Asia, we won’t stand for that.

This is a rather poor way to look at it.

It's not that we're "fine" with AMW having sex with trafficked girls, it's that - as far as we know at time of writing - there is little hard proof of that beyond he said / she said and innuendos in emails. A number of people involved are now deceased. Securing a conviction on this basis would be nigh on impossible.

It is going to be orders of magnitude more difficult to convict him of a sexual offence than it would be for this where the evidence is (apparently) from the horses mouth by way of his own emails.

Unless video footage is found or some sort of inadvertent confession from Andrew e.g. by way of an old email, I think it highly unlikely any prosecution for a sexual offence would even make it to court, let alone succeed.

None of that means what he did was OK.

Bet he’s being arrogant and smug and entitled and is a right royal pain to deal with

Brilliant 😂

Good news.
So maybe a new episode of 24 Hours in Police Custody coming our way?

They should switch off the audio and video recording in the interview room and just kick the fuck out of him.

Love a bit of violence when justified.

I hope that other people who are alleged to have been part of this are also properly investigated and if appropriate arrested, not just the King's Brother and the former ambassador to the US.

There are unrelated to Epstein several others who should be investigated, such as those who covered up and did not investigate Jimmy Savile's crimes, and several ministers' actions in 2020 and 2021 re Covid contracts and other behaviour.

In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation.
Let me state clearly: the law must take its course.

Wholehearted support. Clear statement from Charles here I‘m impressed.

Me too. Reading between the lines I think KC might be glad the police have taken action. AMW must be that family member you just wish would go away.

BeardofHagrid · 19/02/2026 13:12

Please take the Duchess of Pork and the two ugly sisters with him 🙏

Velentia · 19/02/2026 13:12

The police must be relieved that they are looking for information and evidence of specific crimes. They will see both ends of financial transactions. They can look at everything that the accused person has. Paper and electronics can all be searched and no danger of a "Carl Beech" involvement.
They may also find intelligence if not court quality evidence of other crimes involving other players perhaps in other jurisdictions. It will all be grist to the mill.

Agree, this corruption needs to end, finally end.

I don’t feel in the slightest bit sorry for them. At no point did they seem to question the questionable choices their parents were making

Lets hope this doesn't all end up being quietly dropped.

Unfortunately, there are some people who are most definitely 'above the law'.

Even if he is convicted he won't end up in a regular prison and be treated like a 'common' prisoner.

It’s an odd way to start if you intend to ‘quietly drop’ it. I mean, we all know hers been arrested, he wasn’t given any notice (and neither was the King) - it’ll be quite hard to just abandon proceedings now. It could have been done much more quietly if there was any suggestion of a severe letting off, surely?

IsThisTheWaytoSlamMyPillow · 19/02/2026 12:57

Any sexual activity with a trafficked person is rape - trafficked people cannot give consent, because they’ve been trafficked. They are not there of their own volition and age is irrelevant and they’ve not made the choice to be a sex worker.

If he had sexual activity in the UK with VG and/or anyone else trafficked by Epstein (and/ or anyone else) it was rape.

My hope is that in investigating the issue he’s been arrested for concerning his trade envoy actions the police will find further evidence of far worse crimes. Perhaps he will try to protect himself and throw everyone else under the bus.

No it wasn't.

You can't just make things up.

There are criminal offences of rape within a specific legal definition.

There are criminal offences of sexual activity with children aged under 16.

There are criminal offences of having sex with a trafficked person, whether you know they have been trafficked or not and that you pay that came in in 2010 and criminal offences of having sex with a trafficked person with or without knowledge or making payment that came in in 2015.

There is no UK criminal offence that says having sex with a trafficked person is rape.

You can want it to be true and you can say it is morally but it doesn't make it a criminal offence.

Which is why unless evidence of criminal offences come to light, Andrew hasn't been investigated for having sex with VG in 2003 because it wasn't legally rape and also wasn't legally a criminal offence at that time.

Yes, that's how it sounds to me too, and also as if he doesn't expect Andrew to get away with a slap on the wrist.

ByLimeDuck · 19/02/2026 13:36

My goodness. Wonders will never cease. I wonder did they plan it for his birthday!? Part of me thinks they didn't want to put Queen Elizabeth through this so waited as they have obviously known for years.

I don't agree. I believe Andrew is guilty but I also believe they are using him as the scapegoat - Charles, Camilla and others are not squeaky clean.

80smonster · 19/02/2026 11:28

Now we have to meet his costs in prison. I’m guessing they won’t shack him up with the proles, so that’s going to be expensive. I reckon old Charlie Boy should meet the cost. Why should tax payers contribute further?

If your brother was put in prison, would you be happy to pay his costs? I appreciate Charles is probably better financially positioned that you are but the principle is the same. It's nothing to do with Charles. Why do tax payers have to pay for anyone's crimes? Sadly that's life!

I hope that's a bad joke.

He is awful, arrogant and pompous and deserves his comeuppance if he is proven to have committed a crime or crimes. I don't think beating him up is the way to proceed and if the police were to do that it would be to his benefit as he could claim any statement he made was under duress.
