Are you now more likely to vote for REFORM (the party)

NC for this and apologies if Q already asked. My quick search yielded no result.

Reform plan to undo the reversal of 2 child cap benefit. Are you now likely (or more likely) to vote for them? There have been endless threads about the welfare bill.

Is that one of their policies then? If you dont vote Reform you have to leave the UK?🫣

I was thinking more along tha lines of those who lose multiple benefits and can't afford to house themselves. Step up and support your self? Or leave?

Gnomer · 18/02/2026 15:46

While I 100% agree with the reversal of 2 child cap benefit I could never vote for Farage. It would be like living in the US and voting for Trump. Just plain insanity.

1apenny2apenny · 18/02/2026 15:48

I agree with the 2 child benefit cap and unfortunately I don’t think we’ll see a U turn on that policy from Labour but I still won’t vote for Reform.

Tryagain26 · 18/02/2026 15:48

No of course not.
Nothing would ever persuade me to vote for them.

ThereAreOnlyShadesOfGrey · 18/02/2026 15:48

Anyone who votes for a party based on one policy is frankly not intelligent enough to deserve the vote.

Similarly anyone who votes for a party purely to prevent another party from getting into power, especially when that vote could contribute to that party winning is hard of thinking.

I think every party probably has some policies which might make you see them more favourably, although not necessarily vote for them.

But it’s not what you agree with which should influence your vote, it’s what you don’t agree with.

So fantastic, you might agree with the restatement of the two child benefit cap. Personally I do, but I don’t consider it worthy of my vote.

But do you agree with the removal of the equality act for instance? Is that something anyone here can justify? And if so, I’d love to hear the justifications.

Because while you might agree with steps to tackle immigration, that isn’t necessarily going to affect you personally. Removal of the equality act however absolutely will. and it will be immediate. Is “stopping the boats” worth losing any women’s rights you have? Rights for your disabled children or relatives? Really? How do you justify that one?

MyLimeGuide · 18/02/2026 15:50

More likely to vote on them because of that. But I'll end up voting tories.

Pieceofpurplesky · 18/02/2026 15:50

No. I've got a brain and a conscience

I think there are PLENTY of women who won’t vote for any party that think people can change sex. That’s a single issue but it’s a fine principle. Why vote for a party that expects you to nod along to a lie? What else are they going to lie about?

Tiredofitallagain · 18/02/2026 15:52

Sirzy · 18/02/2026 14:50

I would vote for the Monster Raving Loony party before even considering voting for reform.

This

camperjam · 18/02/2026 15:52

No change for me, I would never vote for them

hobbledyhoy · 18/02/2026 15:52

Absolutely fucking not.

There appears to be rather a lot of threads started here recently to gauge opinion, I’m not sure how many times your party need to ask - because it is you isn’t it, you grifting, divisive vultures.

CrispySquid · 18/02/2026 15:55

No. They’re a bunch of utter crooks, losers, criminals and sex pests who will willingly condemn this country to foreign interference. Above all, I absolutely despise the recent Americanisation of our politics. They’ve bought over yankified culture war wedge issues along with this faux-religious performative nonsense.

Five years ago you could have asked the biggest knuckle-dragger you could find on the street whether women should be able to vote or work or go to university or if women who chose not to have children should be punished or if women over the age of 35 were “worthless” and you’d get a slightly reasonable answer. Now you log onto the cesspit that is twitter and see thousands and thousands of comments a day advocating for things like this like it’s as matter of fact as asking someone to pass the salt. All with hundreds of thousands of likes and reshares. Millions and millions of repeated imprints a day across multiple platforms.

They’re a bunch of snake oil salesmen and I’d rather throw myself in a meat grinder than vote for them.

Justnevergetsthere · 18/02/2026 15:56

I rather stick pins in my eyes.

Where would they go though? Im not sure there are any other countries on earth that let you just rock up, home you and then pay for your living for nothing?

Selenassunsetsangria · 18/02/2026 15:18

If they win are you all going to leave the UK?

The UK is a democracy. I know it's unlikely to stay that way under a Reform Regime but until they make those changes, we are entitled to remain here even if the party we vote for doesn't win.

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 18/02/2026 16:01

I'm as unlikely to vote for them as I have ever been.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 18/02/2026 16:02

Not a chance.

SchrodingersParrot · 18/02/2026 16:02

Notellinganyone · 18/02/2026 14:54

Me three. They are totally abhorrent in every way. Corrupt, misogynistic and utterly self-serving.

Me four. I will never vote for any party that supports Brexit.

StrawberrySquash · 18/02/2026 16:02

No. I think the 2 child cap is a bad thing and punishes poor children. I wouldn't vote/ not vote Reform based on this policy with way. Far more reasons I wouldn't vote for them.

Craftysue · 18/02/2026 16:04

Anybody but Reform for me

Sesma · 18/02/2026 16:04

I will vote to get Labour out, which may be Reform, it may be Tory, I will see at the time.

Molliepuppy · 18/02/2026 16:05

Absolutely not

RunSlowTalkFast · 18/02/2026 16:07

Mumsnetters are largely female and educated so not really the target market.

luckylavender · 18/02/2026 16:07

I don't care what their policies are, Hell would freeze over before they got my vote,

SchrodingersParrot · 18/02/2026 16:07

Selenassunsetsangria · 18/02/2026 15:18

If they win are you all going to leave the UK?

I no longer have that option. I was planning to retire to France, but thanks to Reform I'm now trapped on the sinking ship that is Brexit Britain. Whenever I travel overseas I feel obliged to apologise for being British. I'm utterly ashamed of my country and I hate what it's turning into. I'd be out of here in a heartbeat if I had the chance to live anywhere else.
