Are you now more likely to vote for REFORM (the party)

NC for this and apologies if Q already asked. My quick search yielded no result.

Reform plan to undo the reversal of 2 child cap benefit. Are you now likely (or more likely) to vote for them? There have been endless threads about the welfare bill.

Yep. Not great, but not psychopaths who'll sell whats left of the country to the highest bidder (US, Russia, China, or a bit to all three).

You think that Reform will 'maybe' form an outstanding government?? Just..... how?!

I think they’ll do a better job than Labour, I think they’ll do a much much better job than Labour on the economy.
The below is a bit crazy and paranoid if you don’t mind me saying, are you suggesting they’d give away British territory and then what? pay billions each year to who they gave the territory to? Sounds a bit far fetched.

, but not psychopaths who'll sell whats left of the country to the highest bidder (US, Russia, China, or a bit to all three).

I'd sooner eat out of date seafood.

Putting a cap on child benefits seems perfectly reasonable to me. Why is it so outrageous to say "look, you have now raised two children at the taxpayers expense. If you have a third, we are not prepared to pay for it." I don't mind so much when the claimant is a good parent raising polite, civilized, hard-working kids. But when they raise ignorant, vicious, foul-mannered kids, I draw the line.

Actually, instead of a blanket cap, it ought to be linked to behaviour, both of the parent and the child. People with a tack record of abuse and neglect should be discouraged from having more children. But parents whose kids consistently misbehave – stealing, dealing drugs, disrupting lessons at school, should also have their benefits cut.

Not every claimant is a poor Dickensian waif. Vicky Pollard was a popular character because everybody new someone like her.

I wouldn’t vote for them if they offered me a million pounds. I would vote for literally anyone but Reform.

l would vote Reform for a million quid. Then I would apply to live in New Zealand.

I’m still very far from it, but Jenrick’s economic platform was a pleasant surprise. So, yes, “more” likely to I guess.

Fiscal conservatism combined with supply-side reform.

Simplify and reform the tax code to remove disincentives and cliff edges, but with overall tax levels to fall only once the deficit is eliminated. A sensible, technocratic move that can unlock some growth without additional spend.

Welfare reform, in particular targeted at rolling back the recent and large increase in anxiety-and-related benefit bill. Surprising echos of Gordon Brown.

Adjusting BoE remit: I could take it or leave it, but good to see recommitment to the OBR process. Discussion of superforecasters very interesting.

Energy policy: a major win. We have the highest industrial energy prices in the Western world, going into an economic revolution that will be very energy heavy. We can either be AI-makers or AI-takers. Makers is best. I like net zero, but think how we have done it (through domestic policies) has been absurdly inefficient and politically, not ecologically, motivated.

Agree. I abhor Farage but I hate Philipson, Angie, Rachel and Starmer even more.
I do like Kemi however all of what says lead me to think that they had 14 years to implement it and they didn’t. Anyway, I’ve been politically homeless since Brexit so I won’t rule anything out.

I'll tell you who the f-ing traitors are – the Left-wing c*s who have used mass immigration to destroy our national identity. A speechwriter for Blair said their plan was to "rub the right's nose in diversity and render their arguments out of date." Well they have achieved their goal. I no longer feel English or British.

The Left have also taught us to hate ourselves and be ashamed of our history and culture. Radio 4, for example, can't even mention Jane Austen without linking her to colonialism in some way. And then they have the nerve to talk about conscription so we can oppose Putin! It's hilarious. I wouldn't lift a toenail to defend this dump. I have nothing to defend. The Left have got what they wanted. They've created a new country. They have succeeded where Pol Pot failed. This is Year Zero – a new nation with a new culture. Fine. Well done you Oxbridge leftists. You have got a new country, and YOU can go and defend it.

Laughable

PURPLErainiswhatmadePrincegreat · 18/02/2026 22:24

ok then , who are you voting for.

Summerbay23 · 18/02/2026 22:25

Not a chance! But then Trump was voted in for a second term so in politics madness often wins, so who know.

PaperMachePanda · 18/02/2026 22:26

I'd rather be flayed alive than vote for Nigel and his Tory chums.

I'm astounded by anyone who says they're a reliable prospect. You just voted to get rid of half of that lot when they were part of the Tory party.

Turkeys voting for Christmas.

GingersOwner26 · 18/02/2026 22:27

No intention of voting for Reform.

I think there are PLENTY of women who won’t vote for any party that think people can change sex. That’s a single issue but it’s a fine principle. Why vote for a party that expects you to nod along to a lie? What else are they going to lie about?

The whole anti trans stance on here is tedious in the extreme.

There are far more important, real life altering issues at steak which far outweigh some women’s need to continue to harp on about “trans”. And frankly it makes them look unhinged.

I think the economy, education, the NHS, unemployment, SEN education, and the list goes on far exceeds people’s objections to having to use a toilet cubicle next to a trans woman.

Just checking I’ve understood this, you are saying the people who don’t think men can grow a cervix appear unhinged?

Being for sex based rights and spaces for women is not 'anti-trans' unless you are admitting that being pro-trans is anti-women.

It's about males in communal female spaces where women and girls are in a state of undress. Women and girls are affected by this, and it's unhinged to deny it's a real issue. Every woman has to use a toilet. Or change room. Males in female spaces affects far more women (and girls) than those things you listed. If we had your way we'd never talk about the issue because none of the issues you list are really ever going to be eradicated. Google the Urinary Leash. Women could not even participate in society (well at least only as far as their bladder could hold) before female only toilets came in. Forget work! If women don't have our own toilets we can't work!

There are girls who stay home from school when on their period because in their gender neutral toilets with the boys in the cubicles next to them, they have no private place to change their pads. Rattle of the plastic makes the boys giggle. Girls are losing time at school, over a basic hygiene and sanitary issue! Women are not drinking during the day and restricting fluids so they don't have to use the toilets at work, and getting UTIs and you can die from sepsis. A few on this board have said this about themselves. Don't you see? If women self-exclude from participating in society, the economy collapses anyway. There is no greater issue than this.

Vote for the man who wiped billions of the economy through Brexit, only to repackage a bunch of tories and ruin the country once and for all? This is the man who said our NHS would be stronger and everything better if brexit went through. He is a fraud and a bully. Reform is being run by billionnaires. Does anyone regard £75000 spent on flags in Notts by Reform as good use of public money? Or the millions spent on a waste consultant in Leics?

No it's not a good use of money but still a better use of money than spending £500k compensating 70 illegal migrants for the unlawful seizure of their mobile phones don't you think?

More than 70 boat migrants awarded £500k compensation after unlawful seizure of mobile phones and SIM cards | LBC

Taxpayers will foot the bill for compensation after 70 migrants had their phones unlawfully seized after arriving in Britain.

Not wasps specifically, but one of Labours initial net zero policies was to use the tax system to push people towards incorporating insects into their diets . So you jest, but you might very well end up doing that in the unlikely event that Labour get a 2nd term.

I’m a vegetarian so I’ll pass on the insects of any kind.

I think we can all agree that women's spaces are important and should be preserved.
Where we don't agree is that there are many of us who don't believe this to be the biggest single issue that derails a lot of threads.
To quote Keir Starmer - we get it. We just think a functioning NHS, economy and society are more important.

Aren’t Labour doing this anyway? I’d rather vote for Larry the cat.

mellongoose · 19/02/2026 07:13

No. For many reasons. They still have to go through the learning curve of scrutiny of policies and whether they can all stick together. Spoiler alert…they won’t.

This awful government has to go but my vote is not for Reform.

Never

Runssometimes · 19/02/2026 07:35

The party that will undo 30 years of environmental protection and get rid of the equality act? The ones who have all the failed Tories in it? The one with the leader who barely turned up for work when he was MEP and hasn’t been seen in his own constituency now he’s finally been elected as a constituency MP after years of not being able to achieve that? Er no. I wouldn’t vote for them for a million pounds.

Yes it appears we’ve been ranking them and their victims based on ethnicity for a very long time, much to the country’s shame.

Yep, very icky that several posters (on this thread and others) only seem to care about white rape victims
