Just that.

I feel sick with the state of the world.

The corruption, the gaslighting, the depravity, the powerful abusing their positions, the rich getting richer.

Trump and his cult who protect him at all costs
The amount of high profile people in the Epstein files spread across society
The Royals being above the law
Law and order being just an idea for the rich and powerful
The complete trashing of American democracy
Women protecting powerful men
The fact that men have no issue abusing children
Men who are so stupid as to probably be used for their position by Epstein
How Epstein managed to get so many of the rich and powerful into his orbit

I'm just sick of it and behind all these headlines are women and girls who were subjected to such abuse and yet they are almost forgotten about.

YANBU but I think the world and people in it have been this way all along we just weren't as aware of it. At least we can see it now for what it is and with awareness comes change hopefully.

MissyB1 · 16/02/2026 08:32

You forgot the wars, which are always about greed and power, and women and children again paying the price. And Trump pretending to be ending wars when in fact he encourages them. Our Government complicit in causing suffering.
As a world we certainly need a reset.

I know. He'll cause chaos to prevent the mid-terms at the end of the year, possibly throwing some bombs at Iran.

I think a complete reset is needed. I hope every last one of those rotten people are brought down.

No, because it's still beautiful. There's always been horror in it but it's beautiful. (Very horrible things have happened to me, but I don't want to burn the world.)

BiscoffCheesecakes · 16/02/2026 08:36

No, there is no point in dwelling on it. Just focus on the positives. There will always be shut going on in the world

You are in luck!

The WEF have your back. Or they did til they realised their great reset plan had been leaked and so pretended that never happened.

Now is the time for a 'great reset' of capitalism | World Economic Forum

Interesting; it depends on where you access it from as to if you will get there or not...

Now is the time for a 'great reset'

The changes we have already seen in response to COVID-19 prove that a reset of our economic model is possible. Professor Klaus Schwab outlines how to achieve it.

RedToothBrush · 16/02/2026 08:43

The world is not the problem. It's power hungry humans.

If you got rid of this lot of power hungry humans you'd create more instability as the next generation of power hungry humans would then battle it out for the honour of being able to exploit all the other decent humans, hurting many many decent humans in the process.

The nice wonderful people are never those made to be leaders. Unfortunately at times we need leaders to do horrible things because there are horrible humans.

It's about getting the least worst humans in power but even they are always going to be horrible humans.

Why should we burn the world down because of them though. It rather defeats what we ultimately want.

You are chasing a utopia that doesn't exist and can not possibly exist whilst humans exist.

CactusJoe · 16/02/2026 08:54

I grew up in the 80s and 90s. It was a time of great optimism I think. I just assumed the world would get better and better. Great strides were made in race, sex and same sex equality. I thought that would continue.

I’ve now realised, in the past decade, that human Nature does not really change and we will keep cycling through tribalism and cruelty or dismissal of others.

So, focus on those you love, do things that bring you joy, and believe in Heaven. That’s what I have decided to do. ( I do also do what campaigning I can on causes that matter most to me, but that doesn’t help my mental health, it makes it worse. The people I love and Heaven bit help my mental health).

Thereinaminute · 16/02/2026 08:55

At the risk of sounding twee...All you can do is be kind to those around you and hope that kindness and hope spreads. Volunteer, donate, let someone go in front of you in a queue, bring food to someone ill etc etc. the world needs kindness and we can all do our little bit.

Noshowlomo · 16/02/2026 08:57

It’s all so horrendous. I squeeze my boy so tight every night. I can’t believe the things that some children go through at the hands of perverted, greedy, power hungry adults

VanessaSanessa · 16/02/2026 08:58

I wish I believed in religion or a god of some sort. I do believe in energy, spirits and souls.

I think a PP is right, spread as much kindness as possible and look for as much joy as you can.

Oh and I probably need to turn off the news.

I know, my daughter is 10. It cuts me to the bone thinking of some of the girls her age involved in the Epstein stuff.

HelpMeGetThrough · 16/02/2026 09:22

The worlds fucked, and a large proportion of people are mental.

Switch off the news, don’t bother with social media and live in blissful ignorance. Works for me.

SquishyGloopyBum · 16/02/2026 11:16

To be honest, the world will do it for us. Mother Nature is the true leader. Climate change doesn’t care who we are or where we live, it will affect us all.

NooNooHead · 16/02/2026 11:39

I've been cynical about the pharmaceutical industry ever since being injured permanently by an off label antipsychotic prescribed after a head injury and post concussion syndrome a decade ago. It gave me a neurological involuntary movement disorder called tardive dyskinesia. I probably sound like a tin foil conspiracy theorist but a lot of my cynicism about how medication isn’t always good, and how much doctors deny and gaslight have fallen on deaf ears with my family.

Posting in the med injured communities is probaby in some ways shouting into an echo chamber, but I find people there more empathetic and understanding.

I wouldn't have known about how many people are finding life shit, being sedated by so-called "medicine" then left to get on with it when their lives are destroyed by the very things meant to help.

I don't trust many people much any more. My mum was right - she amused me once saying "trust nobody" but it's true, unfortunately 😕

BlueJuniper94 · 16/02/2026 11:42

You seem preoccupied with American politics, there are, tragically, worse places on earth with worse going on at the moment. I don't know if that helps give some useful perspective or not. But I would just get offline and try enjoy life if you are feeling this way.

PeppasLostRedWellie · 16/02/2026 11:44

YABU for your westernised gripes. I thought this might be referring to other things going on in the world than ‘royals being above the law’. All of your points are about Epstein. There are other horrific things happening in tje world. This just reads like you’re spending too much time reading out Epstein.

I agree that there is widespread systemic corruption which is vile and disgusting and tends to lurk under the surface whatever system or party we have in charge. At least with democracy we can decide which ones are the least worst power-hungry humans, and I'm always concerned that the shit human rhetoric ultimately leads to pure defeatism (because why vote if they're all equally shit?). The degrees of shitty-ness do matter. For instance, I'm convinced that the current lot of power-hungry humans in charge in the US is demonstrably worse than the other lot. And that the lot we have here is less bad than the other power-hungry lot waiting in the wings.
There is one thing though that I think we should urgently and proactively address as a species and that's containing the power of billionaires. States have utterly failed to do that over the last 40 years and it's been a disaster - especially now that most of the world is in fact ruled by billionaires. There lies the shit epicentre.

Whoowhoopitstbesoundofthedapolice · 16/02/2026 12:06

I agree its so frustrating knowing this is out there happening daily with no help for the victims.

The world has always had these problems .. its just we are more aware of things now.

Some humans are just rotten from the core, but with evil behind them(money, power), they are untouchable until they fall from grace and then bam, it all comes out.

Also, there are women out there who have no regards to protecting children, too. Look at Epstein's girlfriend and the women on the list or who knew what was going on from the people who went.

Yes turn it off for a while. And social media feeds. It could be making it hard for you to see the good.

angelos02 · 16/02/2026 12:16

I often wonder if there is an Earth equivalent out there somewhere that works - it is fair and peaceful. I wonder if they've passed Earth and thought, bloody hell, I'm not going near there - looks horrific. A bit like driving quickly through a scary looking estate!
