Just that.

I feel sick with the state of the world.

The corruption, the gaslighting, the depravity, the powerful abusing their positions, the rich getting richer.

Trump and his cult who protect him at all costs
The amount of high profile people in the Epstein files spread across society
The Royals being above the law
Law and order being just an idea for the rich and powerful
The complete trashing of American democracy
Women protecting powerful men
The fact that men have no issue abusing children
Men who are so stupid as to probably be used for their position by Epstein
How Epstein managed to get so many of the rich and powerful into his orbit

I'm just sick of it and behind all these headlines are women and girls who were subjected to such abuse and yet they are almost forgotten about.

A PP is correct, my post is very American centric however I think that's because I've been sickened by the news over the last week.

I am sick to death of Ukraine and the continuous killing of their people. Putin. Gaza and what they've endured. Israel.

I think it's true, money on power are the root of it all.

You'd feel powerless about it all at times.

I agree. I couldn't care less if every nation set off their entire nuclear arsenal.

I just want to move far away and turn the WiFi off. Books and jigsaws and being outside

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Unfortunately the sort of people who want to be leader are often not the sort of people you want to be leader.

Exactly .. usually they have a massive chip on their shoulder as well or they have generation expectations and trauma and no idea how to process it "normally"

Yes and it’s been the same since time began. Greed, violence, abuse, corruption…It won’t ever change.

firehorse68262 · 16/02/2026 13:00

No cos that's the sort of thinking which gives us terrorists, violent protesters and vigilantes

It's always been this way, possibly worse, we just never hear of it constantly like we do from media today

BrieAndChilli · 16/02/2026 13:27

It is depressing but since the beginning of tiem there has been wars and corruption and murder and rape.

Think back to the Romans, the greeks, the egyptians, the chinese dynasties etc. All had war, pillaging and rampage. Brothels and young children used for amusement of the rich. Poor underclass whilst the upper classes feast.

Nothing changes. Which isn't to say it shouldn't change. I just don't know what the answer is. Removal of power always creates a vaccum and there is the next power hungry sicko waiting for their shot.

EasternEcho · 16/02/2026 13:29

It has always been this way, or even worse. We are more aware of it now, thanks to modern communication that bypasses gatekeepers of information.

I think also that here in the West, the way America, their democracy is disintegrating is in our faces more, more coverage. If this can happen in America, we are all f**ked.

When it's going on all over the world for centuries.
