Re green eyes : these aren't unique to white people. There are fully Indian people, for one,,who can naturally have green eyes. Any ethnic group can have them naturally due to gene variations, they're just more common in white people.

Well, exactly. The only logical explanation for someone obsessing about skin colour but denying that skin colour has anything to do with culture etc. is that they are for some reason obsessed with melanin levels.

So again, @Poetnojo - can you clarify whether it is about melanin levels and nothing else for you, and if so, why?

Ther's no need to do down any skin colour. You can have a complex ancestry without having non white ancestry , and vice versa

In any case, white people aren't a monolith! They include a variety of national and cultural backgrounds, just like people of other skin colours.

I'm white as a sheet. I'm also the daughter of two immigrants, themselves of very different (though white) national and religious backgrounds. I'm definitely someone whom people like Rupert Lowe would hate, though they might not spot me as an enemy as quickly as they would someone with darker skin..

But 'how everything once was'? - there were Eastern Europeans, Chinese, Indians, Caribbeans in England in small but existent numbers in the 70s, 80s etc . Do they not count? Could they not have been properly British even if they integrated fully, in your eyes?
