Cleaner - unsatisfied

We decided to get a deep clean done of our house post-dog, unfortunately. The lady came around yesterday and all went well etc, we got out of her way and everything seemed fine when we got home. However, for a deep clean I'm not overly satisfied. There's still dust on top of mirrors, dirty spots on bathroom floors, some skirting boards missed and behind toilets too.
Am I being completely unreasonable here to expect these things to be done? I messaged her saying for the most part she has done a great job, but mentioned the above, sent photos, and she basically said thanks for the feedback but on the list of jobs she does behind toilets isnt mentioned...? But surely for a deep clean they would be done? Also, just to say. She did say inside and outside of cupboards are done. Those weren't either. But dont really want to get in an argument pointing things out! Just feel a bit ripped off.

Indeed. We can all leave her a review now 😉

Goditsmemargaret · 14/02/2026 14:06

I applaud you O. I'm a total coward and would moan to everyone but be too afraid to post on a Facebook group.

Thattimenow · 14/02/2026 14:06

Fgs get that taken off mumsnet OP

Thattimenow · 14/02/2026 14:07

Honestly you don’t seem to have much sense @LAM1407

Roselily123 · 14/02/2026 14:08

Well she did rip op off and then blocked her … it is day light robbery.., someone will be pleased to be warned.

Exactly

But to name the company on mumsnet??? Totally unfair

RancidRuby · 14/02/2026 14:09

How big is your house, OP? I’m a cleaner and I have a couple of clients that I do a 3 hour clean for, typically I will do 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, large kitchen, lounge, hallway and downstairs loo in that timeframe and it would be a standard clean not a deep clean so it definitely should have taken her longer than 3 hours.

Yes
@LAM1407

This includes your full name and photo, as well as giving the full name of the cleaner. I would get this taken down ASAP.

Aren’t more (local) people on Facebook than Mumsnet? I don’t see an issue with the screenshot being on here if it’s been posted on there.

Mmmm..I now know the OPs full name, her profile picture, the cleaners full name, image and Facebook profile and none of that is any of my business.

you you didn’t accidentally post it! You very clearly said you were attaching a screen shot

Roselily123 · 14/02/2026 14:19

Your reply on fb was spot on.
(I once accidentally got my car number plate on Mumsnet - it happens)
She May now offer you a partial refund- and then you can take the post down there too.

Unless you’re local and looking for a cleaner or a customer to avoid, what can you do with that data?
Many people also share name and surname (although less likely with double barrelled ones)

The wrong version! I had a cropped and amended one but was in the car and clicked the wrong thing!

What did you say in your review OP?

Katemax82 · 14/02/2026 14:33

When I used to clean houses behind the toilet was standard

Mumofoneandone · 14/02/2026 14:34

That is outrageous, potentially fraud - she's misled you on timings/payment/what she would do. If she has a business address you could send a formal letter to say that unless she issues you with a part refund or to come and rectify the situation you will issue a small claim court to recover your money.
Photograph the house/screenshot conversations etc for evidence.
Think she's blocked you, as she knows she's in the wrong.
FWIW have a reasonable size 3 bed house and our cleaner does 3 hours a week as a regular clean. It costs us about a quarter of what you've paid.

Well personally I'm not going to do anything with the information.

But I'm sure both parties would prefer that the hordes of MN cannot identify them.

It was an obvious oversight on OPs part, and she's rectified it, but it needed pointing out because the internet is full of cranks we'd prefer not to share our personal information with.

Getting back to the OP, I do hope you get some money back, she is a definite CF to block a legitimately complaining customer.

( If I was an internet crank I could actually go and tell her that myself now I know exactly who she is...I'm not😅)
