Lied to get a jab now friend is angry

I don’t understand why my friend is annoyed at me as it doesn’t effect anyone else.. part of me thinks it’s jealousy but she’s not speaking to me because I told her how I managed to lose 1.5stone.
backstory- I lied to get an online prescription by saying I was about 1.5stone heavier than I was then when I needed to send photos I just made my scales say more to match the weight I submitted. Not exactly a difficult lie but it worked and I’ve had 2pens of mounjaro 2.5 and I’m now 8.5stone. I feel great, the size I want to be and no side effects so yes I feel smug that my lie worked and I lost the weight easy.
well my friend who has been trying to lose weight too but not via jabs is furious saying I should be ashamed of myself.
surely it doesn’t effect anyone else? I paid full price so can’t be blamed for stealing from the nhs

This. It's deeply concerning that someone who likely wasn't even overweight is being congratulated on this forum for using mounjaro.

I think this is a little dramatic. The healthy range of BMI is very broad, around 2 stone I believe, when I am top end of healthy I do not look healthy. I look overweight. So long as someone isn’t falling into the underweight category I don’t think there needs be “deep concern”.

In going to assume you have no experience of eating disorders.
Wherever op got the drug from needs shut down. They haven't done due diligence. Very irresponsible.

Did you miss the part where op actually stated that she did not qualify for this drug, so falsified her weight?? Clearly.

Did you miss the first art that the OP is overweight? Why are you saying she’s not? Maybe not obese but overweight? What made you decide that she wasn’t overweight though? Clearly!

No I havent but not everyone is dealing with eating disorders, it is not disordered to want to be lower down the healthy BMI range for aesthetic reasons, BMI is so blunt it wouldn’t surprise me if some people top end of healthy are still vulnerable to weight related illnesses and would be healthier lighter.

Honestly they all likely need to close down by your interpretation, they are not difficult to obtain. A balance will need to be struck, not everyone losing weight is unwell whether you agree with the method or not, just as people getting filler and other aesthetics aren’t all suffering from body dysmorphia.

I agree. The BMI tool is pretty crude.

The weight range for my height on the NHS app is between 8 stone 10 and 11 stone 10. I weigh 9 stone 5, and I’d look and feel overweight if I weighed anything over 10 stone 7.

Oh ffs. Inject the wli and you lose appetite so eat less and lose weight. No effort whatsoever if you don't count doing the weekly injection as a big effort 🙄

Not everyone loses their appetite... again you're showing ignorance of how it actually works in real life

I’m assuming you are a similar height as me! I got to 10st10 it absolutely was overweight even though slightly in healthy for height. I looked and felt awful, I was not eating well enough at that time and I knew it. I was not disordered for wanting to get to 9st4 which is middle of my range I think. It looks better. It feels better. Evident by the fact I have to eat healthier to maintain it. I can eat what I like top end of ‘healthy’.

But she didn’t say she was 5ft 6?

Yes, someone else said they were 5’6 and I mistook that for the OP. My apologies to you and Op…

Minnie798 · 14/02/2026 21:15

Op didn't qualify for mounjaro based on her weight. She had to lie to get it.

I know. I don’t think that’s disordered though, plenty of people in a healthy BMI range are seeking to lose weight for a range of reasons. It’s quite an accusation to challenge someone’s mental health. I would only call it disordered if she was aiming to get into an unhealthy range.

springawakeningss · 14/02/2026 21:25

It's not really any of her business!

Just be careful to not lose too much

Your lying by deception and lying to your friends and family, if you want to be on WLI, own it, don’t be a liar, no one likes a liar!

Are you lying if you don't disclose to your friends and family that you are on anti-depressants - all that pretending to be happy naturally when you should be wearing a sandwich board saying "If I'm smiling it's the Citalopram".

I'm on WLI and happy to talk about it with anyone but if someone chooses to keep the medications they use private that is absolutely their right and it doesn't make them a liar.

Would you like to explain which medications you feel can be kept private and which we must disclose to our friends and family?

Frenchfrychic · 14/02/2026 21:27

Wow this went nuts. I can only assume some people are on the vino and letting rip due to their sheer anger and jealousy these drugs exist,

utter madness.

This.

AnnieLummox · 14/02/2026 21:28

Exactly. You need to be obese to be prescribed Mounjaro. There’s a whole category of overweight between that and normal BMI.

whatifs1 · 14/02/2026 21:34

wishingonastar101 · 14/02/2026 20:29

Well done you.
The people I know - including myself, who have cheated and got weight-loss drugs, have indeed lost a lot of weight without having to try... yay us!
I have a damaged colon, a friend has a herniated navel, another has had gallstones removed... yay!
Skinny feels so smug until you shit yourself.

Talk about deflecting.

Not everyone loses their appetite... again you're showing ignorance of how it actually works in real life

How it actually works in real life is by bombarding your body with a megadose of a naturally occurring substance that is usually released in tiny amounts in the gut with a half-life of about 1-2 minutes. The halflife of GLP1s is around a week.

In the vast majority of users it reduces appetite. It also delays gastric emptying.

I mean, what could possibly go wrong with artificially delaying digestion so that food hangs around rotting in your guts for an extended period of time?

You can increase your release of natural GLP1s by feeding your gut fibre - aka fruit and vegetables and legumes, like beans, chickpeas, and lentils.

Seriously? The vast majority do lose their appetite which is why they lose weight. It's so ridiculous to talk about "hard work" when you literally are not hungry.

Having said that, I am very happy they exist and wish all obese people should get them since they can't lose weight the natural way. It's really life changing and it's a win for society if more people are healthy. Obesity is horrible for physical and mental health so it's great that they have found a drug that works.

Blades2 · 14/02/2026 21:49

Normal diet not good enough for you? No wonder your friends pissed, she probably needs it, you are just vain and lazy.

Well you still poop daily, it’s not in there for years 😂

anyway you missed so many things the drugs also do,

controls blood sugar
optimises insulin
reduces inflammation
reduces certain cancers
improves cardio vascular health
improves liver and kidney health
possibly reduces dementia
provides anti ageing to our internal organs, as the inflammation reduction enables cells to regenerate, they have found it either slows, stops or reverses ageing in many people. Not skin, our internal organs.
the list goes on.

but enjoy your beans and lentils.

Yes, does delay gastric emptying, but you only seem to know the nutritional aspect of weight loss... see the benefits raised in the previous comment

Weight loss isn't just calories in & out, plus exercise
Insulin resistance / blood sugar and hormonal conditions can affect weight loss too.

So what. It’s your money and your body. I know loads of people on the jabs. Men and women. Got FA to do with your friend. I’m also guessing she’s a bit jealous as well
