Lied to get a jab now friend is angry

I don’t understand why my friend is annoyed at me as it doesn’t effect anyone else.. part of me thinks it’s jealousy but she’s not speaking to me because I told her how I managed to lose 1.5stone.
backstory- I lied to get an online prescription by saying I was about 1.5stone heavier than I was then when I needed to send photos I just made my scales say more to match the weight I submitted. Not exactly a difficult lie but it worked and I’ve had 2pens of mounjaro 2.5 and I’m now 8.5stone. I feel great, the size I want to be and no side effects so yes I feel smug that my lie worked and I lost the weight easy.
well my friend who has been trying to lose weight too but not via jabs is furious saying I should be ashamed of myself.
surely it doesn’t effect anyone else? I paid full price so can’t be blamed for stealing from the nhs

There’s no drip drip?
we wernt trying to lose weight together as I don’t see how my friend gaining/ losing weight would have any impact on me? If I’m in my house eating chocolate and she’s in hers not then I can’t see how it helps unless you live together?

she went to get milk from my fridge and saw it, the other way round I wouldn’t have mentioned it as it’s not my business.

It’s the oddest thing isn’t It. People thinking weight loss is some form of competition, I guess it explains why the catty comments, as they feel they are in competition with other women.

news alert. They are not.

Singlemomofthree · 14/02/2026 17:52

People need to mind their own business when it comes to glp1 jabs, unless you’re expecting them to pay for it it’s got sweet fa to do with anyone. I did picked my toddler up and hold a dumbbell to get it! I lost 55lb and now on maintenance dose probably for a good few yrs if not life. I don’t give a dam about other people opinion on it, I haven’t effected anyone else by taking just realised people hate it when you improve your life

Morally wrong. So no right to be smug. Actually you should be ashamed

How did you make the scales heavier????

its simple. You can hold weights whilst stepping on the scale, drink loads of water etc

I do think this thread is a wind up because of the way it’s written, the faux naivety of the sensitivity around WLI is just pure rage bait.

But it’s not unrealistic at all, I’ve managed to get WLI through a legitimate supplier by reducing my height and exaggerating my weight and taking a very unflattering photo while bloated on my period lol. 2.5mg mournjaro was hugely successful and the weight came off with no effort, and mostly staying off but I’m considering taking a couple of times of month to help maintain.

I have a very good diet generally and have sat in a healthy BMI all my adult life (I am actually very health conscious, eat very little UPF and regularly exercise), but when my sweet tooth takes over I struggle with snacking which the older I get is pushing me into the top end of healthy and it does not look good. It got me back to a BMI of 22 with zero effort, it just completely took the edge off cravings and allowed me to focus on what I should be eating.

I do think we are going to see these become more widely available as time goes on.

Beyond GLP-1: the next wave of weight-loss medication innovation

You are being obtuse

No. It was very clear. You and another poster said skinny people look
older, full stop.

Rugbymum2026 · 14/02/2026 18:24

I've been on mj for 15 months for my diabetes. It is a very powerful medication and so to lie to get it is just dumb. And dangerous. And it's why the rules are being tightened up, due to people risking SERIOUS complications taking a medication they should not qualify for.

maz99 · 14/02/2026 18:24

saraclara · 14/02/2026 00:05

That. Plus she discovered that her friend was a liar.

I'm amazed at the number of people cheering OP. She's done nothing to cheer about. She lied, and then she lost weight in an artificial way that involved no effort of her part. I mean, there's nothing wrong with losing weight that way but it's hardly something to congratulate anyone for, because it doesn't take any effort on their part.

What makes you think that losing weight on GLP1s require no effort...? if only it was that simple.

You've just proven that you obviously don't know anything about how GLP1s actually work.

Well done for losing weight, it’s not easy even with injections

Beatriz85 · 14/02/2026 18:57

Do you owe her money or something?

hcee19 · 14/02/2026 19:19

Good for you. You can do anything you like and do not need your friend's permission. You lied to get your weight loss meds, so what, you won't be the first, or last. She cannot be as good as a friend as you think she is, otherwise she would have been thrilled that you lost the weight and you are feeling great about yourself....Jealousy shows itself in many forms.

Rainbowalley · 14/02/2026 19:20

The problem is no one should be injecting themselves with a weight loss jab to lose one and a half stone when they were only 10 stone to start with there is no long-term studies on what side-effects there could possibly - there's already noise out there about gallbladder issues not to mention others i'd be furious at you lying to lose one and a half stone you really do need to take stock

Sparklymermaid · 14/02/2026 19:23

She's annoyed with herself and taking it out on you.

Cantkeepaname · 14/02/2026 19:32

I’ve taken the jab for about 8week (2 pens worth) - I’m sure long term effects are minimal.

Im getting a fair amount of heat from some about being a lying shit/ morally wrong but il be honest I really don’t see it as a problem.
I paid full price for a product that I wanted.

I also don’t understand why I’m suddenly going to pile the weight back on now I’m not jabbing? I’m not over eating anymore and the feeling of fitting nicely into clothes is worth it.

I haven’t heard from my friend since the telling off I had from her

How tall are you, op? Is 8.5 stone still in the healthy range and have you had any past history with disordered eating?

Asking as it might explain some of your friends anger.

Come on now we’re not 6, life is more nuanced than that. For a lie to be morally wrong surely it needs to be hurting someone, who is it hurting?

lljkk · 14/02/2026 19:46

LifeisLemons · 14/02/2026 10:15

I guess maths isn’t your strong subject? 😂

I pen lasts 4 weeks so 2 pens will only last 8 weeks or 10 weeks if she took the golden dose from each pen.

Far more likely that the OP lost around 7lbs after the first week and then a steady 2lb loss for the remaining 7 weeks.

Edited

2 kg/week or 2 kg/week. I read that BMI has to be > 30 to get the WLI.
OP said she inflated by 1.5 stone, so then I tried to work out what her start weight might have been (I came up with 70 kg).

Maybe someone good at math can work out how fast OP's weight loss was?

50Balesofgrey · 14/02/2026 19:51

I don't agree that you can pick and choose the rules you stick to, and just lie to get your own way.
