Lied to get a jab now friend is angry

Cantkeepaname · 13/02/2026 20:59

I don’t understand why my friend is annoyed at me as it doesn’t effect anyone else.. part of me thinks it’s jealousy but she’s not speaking to me because I told her how I managed to lose 1.5stone.
backstory- I lied to get an online prescription by saying I was about 1.5stone heavier than I was then when I needed to send photos I just made my scales say more to match the weight I submitted. Not exactly a difficult lie but it worked and I’ve had 2pens of mounjaro 2.5 and I’m now 8.5stone. I feel great, the size I want to be and no side effects so yes I feel smug that my lie worked and I lost the weight easy.
well my friend who has been trying to lose weight too but not via jabs is furious saying I should be ashamed of myself.
surely it doesn’t effect anyone else? I paid full price so can’t be blamed for stealing from the nhs

OP posts:
Prancingpickle · 14/02/2026 09:46

You sound both smug and like an idiot; do you not think that the weight limits are there for a reason?

TheBlueKoala · 14/02/2026 09:51

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 14/02/2026 08:41

It’s an extreme reaction in my view OP. Has she mentioned her views on jabs before? I wonder if she is deep down comfortable with her decision at toughing it out. It could be that it makes her feel a bit foolish? Because what you’ve done highlights her alternative choice. “Ashamed of yourself” - come again?

I don’t know if it’s a direct parallel but I had a friend really snap at me about Botox usage. We were speaking in a trio, and my other friend asked me who I see for Botox and I answered. My other friend then snapped and goes: “I’ve spoken to my husband and we’ve BOTH agreed I’m going to age naturally, and by you speaking about Botox you’re normalising it”. She’s made a few digs at me about it since (I didn’t mention it but she will bring it up in a jibey way) and I suspect it’s because deep down she wants to do it. I shan’t furrow my brow about it - because I can’t haha.

You can’t live your life to please everyone else OP. Just as other users say, make sure you don’t get too low in weight (not sure how tall you are but at 8.5 stone you can’t be overweight).

im intending to use it post pregnancy and breast feeding to help with the 2 stone IVF weight gain xx

By using Botox you are contributing to make it "normal" for women to always look youthful (even though it does show on neck, hands etc). I feel sad on behalf of those feeling that they need botox because they can't accept thrir age. My Mil looks great with wrinkles and all and I would find her superficial if she started to inject botox.

lljkk · 14/02/2026 09:54

Bless your Heart, OP. I love your story. x

So OP is now 8.5 stone (54 kg)
This info not provided, I'm guessing OP is 162 cm tall.
she added on 1.5 stone or 9.5 kg, to get to qualifying BMI (30.1, she had to say her mass was 79 kg) so her genuine weight to start would be about 70kg.
OP only needed 2x 2.5 pens. I'm guessing she had the minimal dose for 20 weeks.

Dropping 16kg in 20 weeks, especially on a low dose, is fast weight loss.
But would be even crazy faster if she used higher doses.

Have you noticed some terrific savings in your food bills?

I guess rhe same can be said for dyeing out your grays or using concealer to cover your eye bags, or working out so your tummy is flat. There is nothing wrong with wanting to feel youthful, or look it, and arguably Botox doesn’t make you look youthful, just if done well then good for your age,

women like you need to stop attacking other women for their choices. You walk about with your eyebags, grey hair, wrinkles, whatever, let others do what they want,

Naunet · 14/02/2026 09:56

So when the weight started to fall off you, your friend must have commented, knowing you were both dieting. Did you lie to her about how you were losing it?

Tiswa · 14/02/2026 10:03

@Cantkeepaname you have lost a further pound this week from a starting weight of around 120lbs because in your eyes you aren’t overeating

do you need to lose more weight - the psychological effects can also be a problem and losing too much weight for fear of putting it on again

that can also be an issue the amount of food needing to maintain

🤣 Sorry don't have any of the latter...yet. But you're right that I do work out and dye my hair so I get how that could be perceived as hypocritical. I just find it sad when I see all unrecognisable faces of actresses who no longer look like themselves and who would look absolutely marvellous with some wrinkles. It's society's youth obsession with 30 y olds having injections and interventions that makes me sad. Women are not allowed to age gracefully whereas men are so it's def a feminist issue.

Oh give over there is no epidemic of gall bladder issues, and gall bladder issues occur without the injections and are usually due to weight loss and gain.

and for the poster who was havering on about no congrats due, no one, but no one loses weight for the congratulations. They do it to be slim.

and the op hasn’t lied. She wasn’t on a journey with her mate, not telling everyone things about you doesn’t make you a liar.

Really? The BBC and other outlets have reported a surge in gallbladder operations in the last year.

"The number of gallbladder surgeries recorded by NHS England in 2024-25 was at its highest peak in the past decade.

The president of the British Obesity and Metabolic Specialist Society, Ahmed Ahmed, said he was doing more of these operations with "more and more" people telling him they had taken weight loss injections.

Gallstones are listed as a common side effect of the jabs and the UK's official medical licensing body said they were kept under "continual review".

Could weight-loss jabs be behind rising gallbladder removals?

And again not directly attributable to the drugs, as these issues arise due to weight loss or gain, you do understand other countries use the drugs, right, in American alone there is over 6 million people. They have a huge amount of data.

Grammarnut · 13/02/2026 21:26

But you haven't taught your body to adjust its food intake. And lying to get a prescription of something like mounjaro is dangerous. The doses are set for your weight, I think, and if you are less heavy than you said you may be taking too large a dose.
I hope you keep the weight off. But your friend is losing weight the sensible way, presumably at the rate of about a 1lb a week. That will lead to sustainable weight loss if you have done it by changing your eating habits.
You are a bit smug - I think that's what sticks in your friend's craw.

It’s ironic that you’re talking about the OP being smug when you’re acting like a medical expert, when you’re probably an accounts clerk.

I guess maths isn’t your strong subject? 😂

I pen lasts 4 weeks so 2 pens will only last 8 weeks or 10 weeks if she took the golden dose from each pen.

Far more likely that the OP lost around 7lbs after the first week and then a steady 2lb loss for the remaining 7 weeks.

I think, most of us, especially as we get older, do try to look as good as we can. Not for men, just to feel good about ourselves. 😉

It’s just when you take things too far, it starts to look a bit odd.

AnnieLummox · 14/02/2026 10:16

This has dangerous written all over it so if my friend deliberately did this yes I would lose contact as I couldn't stay friends with someone that would do something so irresponsible and shows they have zero self respect, i wouldn't have a go i would just stop contact

And no there is nothing to be smug or jealous of just pity really

I’d be glad to be rid of a “friend” who treated me like that.

TheIceBear · 14/02/2026 10:19

i wouldn’t really care if I was your friend but I think it’s bad that people can just get these drugs online by lying like that . No doubt this system will be abused by many people dangerously

Again I simply don’t beleive this to be true. Many many men in the public eye have facial work done, from Tom cruise to Brad Pitt to Bradley cooper. It is across both genders, it is totally false to say this is exclusivily female.

women have histocally been the peacocks of the human race, since time began we have forged make up or did our hair, adorned ourselves, and as time moved on we found we could retain some of our more youthful looks, and now men do the same. It’s only when they take it too far does it look odd.

but I keep seeing this it’s just women and it’s utter bullshit. Gyms are full of men, many many men get Botox, or dye their hair or beards. In celeb circles many of them have facial surgery.

They have only data going back maybe five years for use as WLI. Lots of law suits pending, I believe, also, in the USA.

There are lots of law suits for everything in the USA, and your confused between the active ingredients and the brand testing.

glps were first tested in the 90s, with over 15 years of trials. Then in use for over 2o years for different things, when you say 5 years you’re refering to the brand of medication, not the active ingredient and the trial for that.

thats why el Lilly is going through a major trademark challenge in the USA from another behemoth of the industry, because it is not their art, they simply packaged it up and developed the delivery system, the art, the creation of the active ingredient was done nearly have a century ago.

MidnightMeltdown · 14/02/2026 10:37

Cantkeepaname · 14/02/2026 09:11

Why do some people think those that use the jabs will just put it all back on but those who don’t use the jabs won’t?
surely if I don’t over eat then I won’t put the weight back on whatever process I use?
my body and mind have adjusted to not overeating so I’m not using the jab now and haven’t put weight on, I lost a pound this week.
I know people that lost massive amounts on the jabs who stopped long ago and not put weight back on and I know people that lost the old fashioned way then put weight back on

Research shows that people who stop weight loss jabs are likely to gain weight rapidly, much more so than those who diet the natural way. Some recent studies are showing that artificially increasing GPL1 can cause the body to produce less of its own natural GLP1, leading to increased hunger and weight gain. Fucking with your metabolism when it’s not medically necessary is a really stupid idea and has the potential to cause long term changes/damage. Maybe you will be one of the small minority who don’t regain, but the odds are not in your favour.

Bruisername · 14/02/2026 10:38

I guess the missing info here is what OPs real BMI was when she started and what it is now and if there are any eating disorder issues

AnnieLummox · 14/02/2026 10:39

OonaStubbs · 13/02/2026 23:02

People like the OP are why the NHS are in the sorry state it is.

😆😆😆

Seriously?! Do you know how hard it is to get Mounjaro on the NHS? The vast, vast majority of people are using private prescriptions.
