To think the way MN lets anti trans extremists hijack a tragedy is pretty despicable

Blu3Shoes · 13/02/2026 06:34

I’ve read several threads full of hate filled anti trans ideology diatribes with zero thoughts for the victims, Canadians upset asking for some empathy and making it clear they as a nation just need to grieve, anti trans hate speech….

Jumping on a human tragedy to push your extremist agenda whilst MN just sits back and lets it happen on multiple threads is as low as you can get.

One wonders how low MN is going to sink. It’s such an unpleasant place now. I guess all HQ cares about now is getting a good price in the sell off.

The majority of men who post on fws are TRAs who falsely claim to be gc women and then spout the usual TRA misogynistic bs and blame women. Their post usually start im as gc as the next woman and then spin off into blaming evil terfs for all the ills of the world. It's a well known strategy by certain posters who also like to merail threads and throw squirrels aswell, sort of like certain posters on this thread.
Yes its tiresome but it shows that they have nothing else as their fighting a loosing battle with inadequate amo and everyone can see that now

They aren't though are they? It's the quickest attack aimed at people who might not be as GC as others "oh you're a man!" But everytime one of the regulars gets outed as a man it's no big deal and the women who are uncomfortable at those men participating in threads under a username that doesn't make their sex clear is the problem, which wouldn't be ironic if you weren't so quick to accuse anyone else of being a man. Oh and none of the men who have been told they make women uncomfortable for not having a username that makes their sex more obvious have actually complied with that to make women more comfortable either have they 🤔

All just deflection with you isn't it? Why not just answer the question?

Let me help you - people on internet forums make comments and I made mine that I agreed with OP that people hijacking a tragedy immediately to focus on their own issues were ironic given many posters who do this are men others on here assume are women. You were welcome to quote my comment with your own, but you don't get to then demand I engage in conversation with you or answer any random questions you wish to ask me. Most women know and converse this way btw, I think the male dominated discussions are rubbing off on some people, it's a very male trait to think you control a conversation or that people owe you any kind of attention or interaction.

Discussing the reasons behind these tragedies is essential to help identify the underlying causes and try and prevent it happening again. When

Are you saying you think the fact that this was a trans identified male is irrelevant to his crime? On what basis do you say that?

There are two reasons women here are commenting. First. We have every right to highlight that the press is lying, that the shooter was male and this is not our crime. It is not disrespectful to the victims to call this lie out. They deserve the truth to be known about how and why they died.

Second, women here have been questioning whether people experiencing gender distress are more likely than the general population to have severe mental health issues. The evidence is mounting that this might be true. You chiding the women here for asking this question makes it harder to ask the difficult questions that need to be asked to help kids like this in the future.

I see no glee on display here, what I do see is a bunch of weary but determined women, asking the questions that absolutely need to be asked. We have long built up immunity to scoldings like yours. We were told #nodebate for years, and we kept going, being difficult women asking difficult questions. And it is working. We have changed the UK. We have protected our spaces and our children. So no, we won't be quiet.

Absolutely this. We should not be wasting our time wondering what may have led a 'young woman' to carry out this crime. We should not be going down the blind alley of questioning what it could be about being a young woman that could have led to this. To believe it may indicate a pattern of behaviour to which young women may be at risk. To target preventative interventions towards young women in the hope of reducing risk, when the committal of this crime has absolutely nothing at all to do with young women.

Just more deflection, insinuating people are male rather than answer a very simple question. We can all see what you are doing.

Once again, can you please explain why you think it is so 'hateful' to point out that this individual is a man?

Deflection from the subject youre insisting I engage in which wasn't my original point I made on this thread? Yeah, cos I'm not here to engage with you. You could have scrolled past my comment instead you're the one deflecting by trying to start an argument with me based on a question you wanna ask me. Unless you wanna quote em where I said it's hateful to say this individual is a man you're insistence on badgering me makes no sense. It seems that me stating I found many posters on FWR to be male seems particularly hateful to you that you're insisting on putting words in my mouth or you simply misread my post in your anger? 😂

Okay so you think it's reasonable to point out that this is a man and the press is lying, great, we agree.

As for your weird, fake 'man outing', keep rabbiting on about that if you want I guess, it's a free country 🤷‍♀️

Putting words in my mouth again I seem I agreed with OP I think the jumping on this incident so soon is ghoulish. Just cos I didn't say something you're accusing me of that doesn't mean you get to do the same again. Happy you agree that there are males on FWR and you're aware of them posting under usernames that conceal their sex.

No I'm do e engaging with you (repeating this now!) please don't be a man who refuses to accept a no 😁

Well I'm sure there are males on FWR, males are allowed to post on here. Most of those males are not on the GC side however.

When do you think we are allowed to point out that the media are publishing blatant lies?

That's simply not true and you know it given you could think of one poster who fits that description that you're aware of yet you find it unr adorable that others are aware of more on.a forum where you agree it's impossible to be confident of everyone sex but wanna assume most are women 🤔

When do you think we are allowed to point out that the media are publishing blatant lies?

Already said I'm not interested in you deflecting with random questions, why do you think I want to talk to you despite me telling you I'm not? It seems even the female posters are developing a male sense of entitlement..😂

It is true, I can think of one poster who fits your description of having a user name that doesn't make it obvious they are a man and who didn't volunteer that information.

I can think of many more who are definitely are not GC and come on to goad. Go have a look, they are plentiful.

And you are happy to tell us we are 'ghoulish' for talking about media lying, but not willing to tell us when we are allowed to bring up media lying. That reads to me like you want us all to simply ignore the media lying.

Thank you so not a ridiculous and outlandish claim then, glad we can agree. I'm not willing to engage further with your questions because I'm not in the mood, again you have this insistence of thinking i'm telling you things when you're actually just making up arguments you believe I hold so you can argue against them, and I'm not interested. I'm sure you'll read something else into this, but maybe you could keep it to yourself as I'm not giving you anymore time or attention ☺️

For anyone who missed why the misogyny is not a hate crime, perhaps this helps.

There would be no point in talking about ‘hate crime’ for transgender identity when female people cannot have a similar mechanism to make a comparison. It makes the point being made a fallacious one.

Although every so often it's worth giving it a go it's usually a waste of time posting on anything like this, because although the transphobic lot are a minority (look at the number of votes on any trans relating post), they can't bear even the slightest empathy with trans people and therefore pile on any post that does so.

And let's be clear they don't care about victims - if they did they'd listen to the relatives speaking out who are very clear this is not about trans people.
Also people should beware of those on here who set themselves up as 'experts' while sharing so called resources from various right wing you tubers and orgs.

Pretty sure one of them will be along any minute with another bit of disinformation and 'just asking questions', while shoehorning racism, homophobia and anything else bigoted they can get in.

Why would anyone engage with them - in the real world they report losing friends and colleagues and it's easy to see why! It's so funny that they think they're 'shining sunlight' when as they post more and more it's clear that they're not interested in women's rights.

Mate, the vote in these polls normally goes to Team Reality, just like this one has 😂 439 votes of which 76% think the OP is being unreasonable. Did you miss that?

Link a poll that’s gone the other way, because we are in the majority in not pandering to gender identity ideology, I can promise you.

Don't forget the mushroom farm in Cumbernauld!

It'd be funny if it weren't actually so wrong.

Some people have nurtured grievance and encouraged and urged reporting of the most minor nonsense, to try and manipulate the stats.

Despite their best efforts, race and disability are by far the most recorded/reported characteristics wrt hate crimes. And a police spokesperson noted the increase in reports of minor incidents was behind the majority of what was reported as a surge in 'trans' related hate crime.

Its like some people never heard the story of the boy who cried wolf.

Exactly.

I really couldn’t care less .You can take offence all you like but the fact remains trans people are 2-4% to be the victims of serious crimes with the vast majority having experienced harassment and violence. The way your frothing and outrage takes precedence over a human tragedy speaks volumes.

https://www.cps.gov.uk/types-crime/hate-crime/context-and-characteristics-hostility-towards-sexual-orientation-and-transgender-identity

One point : being victim of a crime doesn't de facto mean one is innocent. Being 'vulnerable' does not equate to 'harmless'.

The shooter in Tumbler Ridge was no doubt classed as vulnerable, as are likely all of the males currently held in women's prisons.

Someone being classed vulnerable doesnt mean all safeguarding and normal processes and cautions should be suspended.
