To think that maybe David Icke’s ideas aren’t all that far fetched?

Obviously this is slightly tongue in cheek BUT can you imagine any of the stuff we know about today being believed even 10 years ago?

This relates to the Epstein files. How many well known people on various sides of the political spectrum, from different parts of the world seem to be involved in this?

It just seems that there are far more perverts and pedophiles among celebrities, politicians and royalty than anywhere else. Why? Are they in fact connected?

The more nefarious stuff that comes out over time, the more it does seem like so many of the people at the top in politics, entertainment and the royal family are all interconnected and cover up for each other.

Surely this is exactly why Savile got away with his crimes - he knew all the other people he could bring down. And how bizarre that such a creepy, strange man was constantly in the presence of the RF with open access to their homes.

So this ‘global elite’ idea doesn’t sound all that far fetched any more. I also don’t think that Andrew is the only member of the RF involved in this stuff - it would stretch credibility at this point.

I seem to be the only person who isn’t the least bit surprised about the Epstein files and what they reveal.

Not sure I agree with your conclusion about the royal family, unless you count Fergie as one of them.

I’m also not convinced the “elite” have any more perverts than most other professions. They can just pursue it more extravagantly.

Nitgel · 03/02/2026 19:00

He talks more sense than many and he's a fruit loop

Largestlegocollectionever · 03/02/2026 19:02

Depends on what claims you're referring to?
I personally don’t really like the man, but from what I’ve seen his info is spot on.
There is absolutely an elite world where bad things happen and are exchanged for celebrity / lifestyle / money

Comtesse · 03/02/2026 19:03

Didn’t he say that Price Philip was king of the lizards?? I’m not sure he’s a very good judge of anything.

MyTrivia · 03/02/2026 19:06

Yeah I’m not talking about the lizard thing.

It does seem to be the case. It makes you wonder why there is a different set of rules for disgusting perverts and us. Ie, they’re allowed to get away with it.

If this is actually true (what’s your evidence?) it will be because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. It’s not that deep. People often misbehave as badly as they can get away with. Those with more power and influence can get away with more.

Yeah I’m not talking about the lizard thing.

Yes but his ideas are that we are ruled by lizards and he personally is Jesus or some such bollocks.

Thinking the ruling classes are degenerate scumbags is an idea as old as human civilisation and there is undoubtedly quite a bit of truth in it but it's not a David ick idea.

The point of my thread isn’t that David Icke is right about everything.

It’s that not that many years ago, people wouldn’t have believed that this Epstein thing would ever come to pass. All the people involved. It’s sick.

Surely if the Royal Family are lizards, then they would have flies served at banquets and not swans?

Obviously one of them is a toad, though.

ApplebyArrows · 03/02/2026 19:34

For every powerful person who seems to have been significantly involved with Epstein, there must be dozens who aren't. The number of high-profile names really isn't that high.

There's a small percentage of people like this in every sector of society. It's just we mostly only hear about the famous ones.

Henriettafromdablox · 03/02/2026 19:41

If we were to list the celebrities, politicians, and business people who aren’t named in the Epstein files, their number would be legion. As noted above, it’s really not a lot.

packratandproud · 03/02/2026 19:47

Yep this is going to be darker and more outlandish than anyone thinks. There’s already stuff leaking slightly that people just don’t seem bothered about, the babies taken at birth etc. this will be murder and worse. And we are all so desensitised it’s just tomorrows chip paper

Powerful and rich people have been behaving like this for literal centuries. It's not remotely new. It's just that we have technological breadcrumbs now which can reveal what they have been up to. But it's always been this way.

I know you don't care about the lizard thing, but he's also a massive antisemite - so to say he's right about anything that ignores this point is really poor. He's been banned from entering countries over his attitudes toward Jewish people.

Yes but no one has really believed that they still did, thinking we are much more civilised now etc

Hard disagree. Plenty of people have known for years that the rich and powerful have different rules to the rest of us. Plenty of books have been written on it. It's been called out in the media on many occasions.

Of course we would. Every generation has its crop of tales of the degenerate elite. It's older than the Romans.

cariadlet · 03/02/2026 20:06

I was a teenager when David Icke, in a tv interview watched by millions, changed from a sports presenter to a conspiracy theorist, spouting insane stuff about lizard people.

From what I recall, the general reaction was a mixture of pity and 2nd hand embarrassment that someone seemed to be having a nervous breakdown (mental health crisis, we'd probably say now) live on national tv.

It still blows my mind that there are people who take him seriously.

Exactly! Lives of the Caesars by Suetonius was pretty scandalous.

packratandproud · 03/02/2026 20:10

I think mainstream view has been that there are mad conspiracy theorists

HopSpringsEternal · 03/02/2026 20:13

I saw him wheeling around a crucifix at Glastonbury in the 90s. Someone shouted "jesus didn't have a fucking wheel". Which made me laugh far more than it should have done.
I've been sectionned several times, and thought I was the second coming. David absolutely would have fitted right in. Most crazy theories have some basis of truth in them.

Tigerbalmshark · 03/02/2026 20:14

David Icke is an antisemite who thinks Jewish people caused Covid and that Holocaust denial should be taught in schools. YABU to agree with anything he says.

BMW6 · 03/02/2026 20:20

I really don't think it's just rich and powerful men who are predators.
Look at the Pelicot case in a French backwater. Just working class men, lots with wives and families. Not every man who knew about it joined in but its very telling that not one went to the Police.

I think it's just men who seize opportunities to get sex whether a woman consents or not.

True, but the rich and powerful seem less likely to be caught and, even if they are, the consequences are seldom the same.

While that's true everywhere, its particularly the case in the US (compared to the UK or other Western democracies) - where the justice system is massively tilted in favor of the very wealthy.
