Is this benefitting her or women in general? I’m really unimpressed

nb: this post is about Emily atack and her latest extremely sexual photos in the press

Why why why!!!!! She’s already successful, lots of money, seemingly intelligent and has a child and partner. Why why why do women keep wanting to come across as sex dolls? I really don’t understand especially as she has spoken about her experience of sexual assault before. Do so many women feel like the most important thing to them in life is still being classed as a ‘wanted, needed by men, sexual being’ above everything else? This can’t be for money purposes.

Is this benefitting her or women in general? I’m really unimpressed

How she dresses and being attacked should have no correlation at all. She should be able to wear whatever she wants safely.

MrTwisterHasABlister · 03/02/2026 13:16

Your title and text don’t acknowledge this is a paid modelling job the Mail have lifted to create content. You write as if she has posted these herself. Do you object to the models in underwear on the M&S website?

TealScroller · 03/02/2026 13:19

She's advertising underwear which will be quite well paid I imagine, she can hardly do that without showing some skin.
What's really worrying is that you mention how she has been the victim of sexual assault? So...Emily should not model underwear? She should go around in polo necks and trousers because SHE was the victim of some man? Absolute bollocks, give your head a shake.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 03/02/2026 13:19

It was a paid modelling job for a well known lingerie brand. She hasn't sent pics into Reader's Wives. YABU, OP

Ablondiebutagoody · 03/02/2026 13:19

Sell doll has been her shtick since Inbetweeners hasn't it?

PevenseygirlQQ · 03/02/2026 13:20

It’s not your place to judge, she can make money anyway she likes if she isn’t breaking the law.

Her experience with SA does not correlate with how she chooses to dress or present herself in the public eye.

Edenmum2 · 03/02/2026 13:23

Do you question male models doing paid underwear jobs?

Ohnonononotagain · 03/02/2026 13:25

I've never heard of her. Looking at the photos I would have assumed she was another Only fans/ porn star raising her profile in main stream press.

Yet another woman feeding into the narrative that women are only bodies and sex objects.

TickyTacky · 03/02/2026 13:31

She is being paid to advertise lingerie, good on her. YABU, women don't need some random outraged person claiming that pictures like these do harm to women & our reputation. Your archaic attitude and implication that doing jobs like these somehow 'cheapen' women and our role in society is what is disgraceful.

LadyKenya · 03/02/2026 13:34

Meh, all that get up looks rather uncomfortable. I will stick with my full briefs, and cotton vests thanks.

Thundertoast · 03/02/2026 13:34

Its a paid modelling job for one of the most iconic lingerie brands on the planet - even if she doesnt need the money, if you are a lover of the brand and dont mind getting your kit off... why not??

However what im more interested in is what connection you see between this and her sexual assault, as its not clear.

BillieWiper · 03/02/2026 13:40

She's always played up to the 'sexy' stereotype.

She was given a whole comedy show as obviously she wanted to branch away from that. But it wasn't well received so I guess she's gone back to what she knows makes her money.

There's nothing wrong with that. She's very attractive and uses it to her advantage.

This 100%

Ohnonononotagain · 03/02/2026 13:43

Having just seen this thread I have just seen Chappell Roan at the Grammy ceremony.

I'd never even heard of her. But there she is topless and with nipple rings. Is she any good as an artist ? Who cares? So long as she gets her kit off for the attention she will do ok.

How can any one say it's is doing women any favours when women artists only get noticed by how little clothing they wear.

Feminism lost it's way many years ago.

MajorProcrastination · 03/02/2026 13:43

The photo shoot references her work on the televised version of Jilly Cooper's Riders (the hat, riding crop etc). It's part of an Agent Provocateur campaign. This is their brand. They sell lingerie so people in their photoshoots wear lingerie so we can see what it looks like. As is normal in advertising, they use a model who looks incredible. As you mention, she's engaged to an attractive scientist with whom she has a young child. She doesn't need validation but mums and wives and fiancées are still allowed to look and feel hot.

When I'm 80 I'd love to look back on photos of myself looking gorgeous. If you don't like it, don't buy the undies, don't have your photo taken in your own lingerie. Emily looks amazing, good for her for getting that gig and earning that money.

HighLadyofTheNightCourt · 03/02/2026 13:43

She’s already successful, lots of money, seemingly intelligent and has a child and partner.

What has this got to do with what she is choosing to wear?
Are only poor, stupid, single childless people allowed to dress like this?

BauhausOfEliott · 03/02/2026 13:44

You are not any kind of feminist if you talk about women in the way you've just talked about Emily Atak, OP.

Modelling for a designer lingerie brand doesn't make someone a 'sex doll' and neither does it have any correlation with sexual assault.

There is nothing wrong with women being proud and confident about their sexuality. There is nothing wrong with women behaving in ways that are overtly sexual. Women are allowed to enjoy sex and sexual imagery and sexual attraction.

If you think pleasing men is the motivation for that, you clearly have a very low opinion of women in general. Your whole post is dripping in misogyny.

HighLadyofTheNightCourt · 03/02/2026 13:45

Agreed, disgusting comment by the OP

Idontspeakgermansorry · 03/02/2026 13:47

She looks incredible.

And I do like looking sexy and being needed by a man actually. 🤷‍♀️

Flamingojune · 03/02/2026 13:49

Could she not advertise knickers without brandishing a riding crop and riding the back of a sofa

PevenseygirlQQ · 03/02/2026 13:50

Nope, not if she doesn’t want to. Whats the problem?

Why should she? That's obviously part of the theme they're portraying.

Uhghg · 03/02/2026 13:52

She’s already successful, lots of money, seemingly intelligent and has a child and partner.

So why does this mean she can’t have photos in sexy underwear?

I think these photos are gorgeous and powerful.

She doesn’t need the money or fame - she’s doing it because she can.
Good for her.

Why do some women feel the need to choose between being sexy vs successful.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 03/02/2026 13:52

She looks fantastic.

Uhghg · 03/02/2026 13:54

I work with a woman who regularly takes photos like this and has made a lot of money over the years.

She’s 100% lesbian with no interest in men at all.
She doesn’t do it for their benefit, she does it for her own.
