Sorry not an AIBU at all, but this allows voting.
We concluded as a family that we would rather find an animal hair than a human hair. Obviously none is preferable!

DD17 and me then explored it further - nail clipping or claw (casings)? We came to the same conclusion!

So - purely for voting -

YANBU - cat/dog hair
YABU - human hair

Again apologies 🤮🤮🤮

Animal- i dont know why though!!

Bookaholic73 · 01/02/2026 18:36

I have 2 dogs and a cat, and frequently find their hair in my food, god knows how 😂So i vote for pet hair.

allcover · 01/02/2026 18:38

Dog

meganorks · 01/02/2026 18:38

Hmm, I'd say human probably. I presume humans are making the food so its easy to see how a hair could get in there (usually mine!!). But if there are animal hairs in there, what the hell is going on with that food prep?!

Thehorticuluralhussie · 01/02/2026 18:40

I have a large dog with incredibly fine hair and it's everywhere. In ice cubes, saucepans, closed pots of moisturiser, books , literally everywhere and infinitely preferable to human hair. Don't know why.

Letmeloveyou · 01/02/2026 18:43

Same dog hair or claw but not sure why!

LookingThroughGlass · 01/02/2026 18:43

Depends on identity of dog, cat or human! Any that were members of my household would be OK - it's happened, I put the hair aside and carry on eating.

Otherwise, whichever had the shortest hair.

CloakedInGucci · 01/02/2026 18:44

Human, because I already know a human has been around my food while it was being cooked. I don’t want an animal to have been around it as well.

Comedycook · 01/02/2026 18:44

Human hair

ScrambledEggs12 · 01/02/2026 18:50

Human or cat.

EilonwyWithRedGoldHair · 01/02/2026 18:54

Having found a massively long human hair in a sandwich in the work canteen once and felt sick Vs finding my own cats fur in my tea, fishing it out and continuing to drink it, YANBU

abracadabra1980 · 01/02/2026 18:56

Either is preferable to the human pube I once found in a student household's butter..

standtherebicycle · 01/02/2026 18:56

Dog. Followed some distance behind by cat and not human

Snooks1971 · 01/02/2026 18:57

This is interesting, it’s almost 50/50.
I have no logic, even if my food was prepared by robots from scratch like the Smash advert in the 70s so no chance of a mammalian hair, I would still prefer animal hair. No logic.

Maybe I do have logic

Love how you named it a human pube as opposed to…Grin

I'm a vegan and own a large husky/mal Cross. I often joke that the only animal product I ever eat is dog hair.

Human hair makes me feel gross. I see so many flaky scalps and unwashed hair and greasy skin around the hairline etc etc. My dog's coat and skin are beautiful and healthy.

Ohfuckrucksack · 01/02/2026 19:05

Human

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 01/02/2026 19:05

Human head hair would be my choice. Hair from anywhere else on the body? Bleurgh!

Definitely don’t want animal hair. I don’t even want it on my clothes.

soupyspoon · 01/02/2026 19:08

Yes cat hair much preferred over my hair

I gag if I get some of my hair in my food, which is unfortunately quite frequently.

Urgh. Its long and gets all caught up in my food/mouth

Cat hair? Meh.

Toothfairy89 · 01/02/2026 20:13

Human probably, as its easy to see where it came from. And humans wash their hair fairly frequently

Maybe cat, but definitely not dog. Dogs eat fox shit and sniff piss. I've seen dogs do some very dirty things, I don't want to be finding their hair in my food Envy

Maddy70 · 01/02/2026 20:14

Human as it's likely to be longer and more visible

5128gap · 01/02/2026 20:34

Cat. I'm not an adventurous eater, so stick with the tried and tested.

FancyCatSlave · 01/02/2026 20:41

Cat gets in absolutely everything here, it would be quite refreshing to eat something without cat hair in 😂

XenoBitch · 01/02/2026 20:43

Animal hair.
There is something icky about human hair that is not attached to a human.
