To want to pay someone to do my uni work

I know deep down it’s a bad idea but it feels like the best option.

If the course isn’t working for you would you really want a job in that field? Is it really worth staying there and getting further in debt?

Hankunamatata · 31/01/2026 09:32

You sound overwhelmed.
What part are you struggling with?

Meadowfinch · 31/01/2026 09:32

Time for a discussion with your course tutor.

Are you totally out of your depth or just time stressed?

somanychristmaslights · 31/01/2026 09:34

Well of course you can’t do that. What course are you doing, what you struggling with and what career do you want out the end of it?

ToKittyornottoKitty · 31/01/2026 09:35

Best option for what? Being a cheat and a failure? Just drop out of you can’t be arsed doing the work

WhatNoRaisins · 31/01/2026 09:35

Are there other things in your life that you can ethically outsource while you manage your uni work?

2chocolateoranges · 31/01/2026 09:37

That’s cheating and lying and a slap in the face to other who have worked their arses off to achieve their degree, what is it that you are struggling with? The work load, understanding the course work, time management?

RedVanYellowVan · 31/01/2026 09:38

So would you be ok to go through the rest of your life knowing you only have that qualification because you cheated?

You need to have a serious chat with your tutor and think about whether or not the course is for you. There is no shame in changing courses or admitting you are struggling.

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 31/01/2026 09:38

Don't do it, OP.

It will be awful if you get found out. And even if you don't, you will still know and you will feel awful because you will know that you cheated. And that will drain your confidence and self respect over time.

Universities have a lot of support these days. Reach out to someone and get some help. They wouldn't have admitted you to the course if they didn't believe you were capable of the work.

CharlotteLightandDark · 31/01/2026 09:38

Why don’t you just use AI like every other student?

Funnywonder · 31/01/2026 09:41

If you’re struggling you should ask for support. I had to. Especially when it came to meeting deadlines as I’m a world champion procrastinator and suffer with anxiety. Nobody else can do your degree for you though, because then obviously it would be their degree and not yours.

Middletoleft · 31/01/2026 09:41

I hope you're kidding. As others have said speak to your course leader or mentor. I'm assuming there's more going on rather than you being lazy. If you have issues then university should be aware so that you're offered suitable support.

If it is the latter you need to have a think about your future.

Tbh when we’ve had exams I’ve literally seen screenshots of people in my class openly using chat gbt for the answers.

RedVanYellowVan · 31/01/2026 09:53

What did your tutors do when you reported others for cheating?

LeafyMcLeafFace · 31/01/2026 09:58

OP people are being really harsh with you, when I think what you’re saying is that you’re massively overwhelmed and struggling but know it’s not the right thing to do or you wouldn’t have put it on here.

What are you struggling with and what are your other options?

I am a student and I have never used AI.

And the invigilator doesn't stop them?! What are you studying?

Avenueoftrees · 31/01/2026 10:06

Get a grip

BrentfordForever · 31/01/2026 10:09

Just pay someone to get you to understand it rather than do it for you
totally ok to use AI for coursework - people do it for their work ffs

just bear in mind depending on the field , AI responses are not totally accurate

get a tutor to help out

Didshejustsaythatoutloud · 31/01/2026 10:12

Yeah, that's a great idea 🙄

Ophy83 · 31/01/2026 10:13

Using AI is plagiarism. Others might be using it but their work should be run through software like Turnitin which can pick it up. And hopefully they'll then be hauled in before the exam board.

Why are you feeling the need to cheat? Is the work too hard? Is the volume too much? Have you got other external difficulties ongoing in your life? If we know the reasons people may be able to offer advice.

InterestedDad37 · 31/01/2026 10:14

If/when you (and the Chat GPTers) get found out, you will fail your course, and any subsequent appeal. You will still have your student debt, and you will have nothing to show for it except a hole in your cv which can't be filled.

shhblackbag · 31/01/2026 10:14

Cheating is obviously never the best option. Decide if the course is for you.

ChurchWindows · 31/01/2026 10:15

If your study isn't enjoyable and manageable then why are you even doing the course?

Why don't you just leave and do something you can cope with an benefit from?

sweeneytoddsrazor · 31/01/2026 10:19

I have never sat a uni exam where phones have not had to be left in a bag. Anyone caught with a phone on them removed from the exam so I seriously doubt anyone is using chat gpt in an exam. If you are struggling see your tutor or SU advisor
