I honestly give zero shits about Kanye West. I had forgotten he exists. I wish he would crawl back under the rock he has been under for the past 7 or so years.

I honestly am torn.

I recently rewatched some old Kardashians episodes, and he seemed relatively normal, loving, the Kardashian family loved him, he was supportive when Lamar was ill and raced to Kim's side after her robbery..

But you could also see this narcissistic side creep through, even in front of the cameras.

I do very much believe he had a mental illness break down. Yes bi-polar but more too it. Whether he can realistically recover, I hope so, as I would hope for anyone.

Not sure…I have a close family member who has had psychosis for several months. Some of the things she has said and done are utterly bizarre but she truly believes her delusions to be real. I would hate people to hold it against her forever.

An apology is a start, but he will be judged by his actions.

He has a platform, and huge influence. His comments have been incredibly racist, and have incited violence on the Jewish community, at a time when the Jewish community is particularly vulnerable.

So no, an apology in itself is not enough.

I also think his music is shit, and cannot separate that from him as he benefits from the revenues from it. I also am cynical that he is only making this apology for personal gain.

I would welcome him saying more than words, eg making a donation to a charity that combats Anti-Semitism, and sustained denouncing of racism towards Jews from himself.

Never had an issue with him, it was clear he was mentally unwell.

I think in years to come people will be apologising to him like they did to Britney but at the moment far too many have the mentality of blaming mentally ill people for their symptoms of their mental illness.

This might come as news to you but illnesses don't affect every person the same way. Some people will get the worst of the symptoms and have far more extreme episodes.

Unfortunately there are a lot of extremely ignorant people out there.

When you hear of people committing terrible crimes while under psychosis or when they were deemed to have been insane, you hear people saying 'well that's no excuse'...or 'I suffer from my mental health and I'd never do that'.....Oh really? well you probably had anxiety or depression, and you've never actually been insane, no one knows what they would do if they were insane or in psychosis.

Taking it all at face value- because who knows whether he really does have a TBI, or what his particular mental health dx is- I abhor what he’s become, and there are few people in the public eye that I’ve felt more appalled by - but College Dropout literally shifted the dial in the genre- you can’t dispute that
