i am a leftie

I think they’ll win

If don’t, they’ll have the majority in a hung parliament and govern as a minority party before joining with the Tories.

i’m going to tighten my belt re running my home and prepare for onslaught as the country becomes unrecognisable

P.S. If you’re still getting your news from BBC, Sky, Channel 4 and MSM, you will not have been told any of this as it is being hidden from the British people

Oh yes... you get your news from Youtube, which the same as getting it from a drunk in the local pub.... so enlightening.

I will pick just 3 of your examples...

Fishing: the deal done by Bojo...

Defence/housing and veterans:

Billions to spent improving housing, on NI a bill that STOPs veterans being prosecuted maliciously...

Rape gangs:

We have had many inquires, including National ones, the latest one cost 100s of millions, took 8 years to report, 22 recommendations, which the Tories never acted on, Labour, within months, have implemented every single one.

Bimpy · 28/01/2026 09:32

Their election schtik in the Scottish Parliament elections is that they will restore tax rates to the same as England, which would make us £750 a month better off so I am tempted. It’s insufferable watching the SNP waste taxpayer funds left, right and centre. They’re talking sense on so many areas it’s tempting, but Farage is a massive racist and the antisemetic comments made to a school friends of his were truly beyond the pail. So it’s a no from me, but I can see why some would vote for them.

I will be voting to get Labour out, whether that means Reform or Tory

I will be voting to keep Reform out, whether that be Labour, Conservative, Lib Dem, Green, the Monster Raving Loony Party.

Having seen what the tangerine toddler has done and is still doing to the USA and how Farage is a 'mini me' with the same puppet master I am definitely concerned with the amount of support he currently has.

Unfortunately, it's the u turns that people remember.

Only because thats all the media keep focusing on... changing ones mind is a sign of maturity (in many cases) once new info becomes available surely.

No politician gets it all right, not Farage, Badenoch or Starmer, making changes is good, as have they all done.

I'd rather that then just steam on ahead but of course one would prefer policy to to be good in all respects but the perfect is not always possible.

Let's hope they remember Reform's backtrack on its central 2024 election pledge to deliver £90 billion in annual tax cuts. Farage is now saying it's "not realistic at this current moment in time".

What single successful initiative that is beneficial to the UK has Farage ever delivered?

Whatafliberty · 28/01/2026 10:06

I agree that they will definitely get in. We will then lose NHS. I am also absolutely terrified.

I don’t suppose Keir Starmer ever lies does he? Oh yes he lied to the President of the United States about the Chagos deal. Just the latest in a long line of lies, distractions and obfuscations. Find me an honest politician and I’ll vote for him. In the meantime we have to make the best of a bad job and vote for someone who might, possibly, if we are lucky, effect some of the changes this country needs if we are once again to be prosperous.

Of course as the man who crashed us out of the EU without a plan, will certainly be able to make us all prosperous again!

I think if you live in a community affected by the grooming gangs scandal (and the numbers are truly staggering - hundreds of thousands of girls) and you saw either the UK or Scottish governments sweeping the issue under the carpet, or you lived in a community that had hundreds of single young men from misogynistic lands which have a tradition of treating women as little more than sex slaves (ie Afghanistan) dumped in to leer at your daughters, you might feel compelled to vote Reform.

The main issue is Labour (and the SNP) preferring to pretend that people concerned about these things are nasty racists and should be ignored. But these people have valid concerns while are not being addressed, and will use their votes as they see fit and who can blame them.

I’m fortunate in that I don’t live in these communities so can afford other issues to be my main concern. That’s a privilege.

When Farage was an MEP he was on the fisheries committee and had the opportunity to make huge advances for our fishing industry. He only showed up for 1 in 43 meetings and did nothing for Britain.

The accusation Starmer has lied, has come from Trump.... a well know liar.

I don't know what the UK told the US govt anymore than you do but its unbelievable that they wouldn't have checked the documention before issuing a whole hearted recomendation.

I might also add that the Tories stated aims during their time in office over Chagos, was identical to the deal Labour got.

But, as we don't even need Diego Garcia (we don't have the means to project power in the North sea let alone the Indian Ocean) why don't the US have the responsibility?

Yes, what did he actually achieve as an MEP of 21 years!

I wish he wouldn't.

My friend in the States is really frightened by Trump. She said ICE are even going after people with 'accents'. She said to me at the time of the elections that her sister-in-laws absolutely wouldn't vote for the Democrats because Kamala Harris is a woman, so they voted Republican because of that. They are really old-fashioned compared to us.

I did live briefly in one of these areas not in the north and was actually approached by some men who thought I was fair game whilst walking home late at night but I have also seen the racism exhibited from people that are hateful and angry and made lads that weren't white feel intimidated and scared.

I also grew up in London both West and south in the 90s and saw my oldest brother's friend at 15 arrive home black and blue from a beating from the local youth BNP. I can see the fear this created in the community for people who weren't white and how it ruined the relative harmony prior to that. This was all around the time of the very sad murder of Stephen Lawrence. Having lived in that kind of atmosphere I definitely don't want to see a return to that level of fear and hatred.

They creep me out too but there’s no way any woman should be voting for parties that think blokes should be in single sex spaces, I.e Greens, LibDems, SNP, and Labour need to get the EHRC off Brigit Philipsons desk and into the public domain.

Autumngirl5 · 27/01/2026 22:01

Not sure how things could be worse than they are right now. Utterly depressing.

I just don't understand this attitude. Of course things could get worse - inflation could get worse, making things even more expensive, there could be another economic crisis, there could be more war, public services can get worse, political corruption could get worse, and if you can't imagine a worse PM than Keir Starmer you really must have very little imagination.

The UK is still one of the richest and safest countries in the world. Why would this particular moment represent the lowest possible point? You only need to look at the wider world to see most people live in societies far worse, in many ways, that this one.
