The one where the men get their jollies showing their cock and balls. There is a petition which is not getting much traction. You may want to sign if you don't want to encourage this.

Nobody does the naked bike ride for sexual gratification and the organisers wouldn't allow someone to participate if they had a boner. Nudity itself isn't inherently sexual; it's about context.

Honestly, people who get annoyed about the naked bike ride just come across to me as being obsessively interested in other people genitals, insisting on constantly saying 'cock and balls' and including descriptions of willies flapping about, fantasising about seeing erections etc. It's like when tabloid newspapers publish a 'Ban this sick filth now' article, which describes said 'sick filth' in great and vivid detail so the readers can get all excited about it while using moral outrage as a cover.

Not sure what you think your children are being 'protected' from. Do you think a naked bike rider is going to snatch a child from your hands as they speed past on a BMX, like a scally nicking a phone?

cleaningthebog · 26/01/2026 13:38

Do you think it's healthy to normalise children seeing men with erections in public? I think this is a major safeguarding risk.

It's telling children not to be afraid of them.

You think they're riding around with boners? Dont be daft. I doubt very much any of the men have an erection

Its not easy to avoid if it goes right passed your house. I'd just left my front door with toddler and baby in a buggy when 30 or 40 of these goons flew passed meters away from us and yes it was very clear to see that some were erect. No warning from council, but apparantly they'd attached something to a lamppost further up the street. So I shouldve known. Oh but it's just a bit of fun right? No it's not ok. Signed, and thanks for sharing.

yes it was very clear to see that some were erect

No it wasn't.

loislovesstewie · 26/01/2026 14:34

So you don't mind men cycling or walking around in public naked, but if they went into a female changing room you would protest? Is a changing room a public place? ( yes I realise that we disignate male and female changing rooms) What if the man in question just stood around outside the changing room? Would that be OK? What if it was just some random weirdo getting his kicks by cycling around naked? Standing around outside a school?
I just find it odd that not wanting to see some random blokes cycling naked isn't thought normal. BTW have you ever seen the results of cycling naked on the scrotum? Years ago there was an article in the Guardian that described the effects.

socks1107 · 26/01/2026 14:34

I’ve seen it ( shock horror with a child too totally by mistake) no one had an erection and child thought it was hilarious.
had I been concerned I would have avoided the route or central London that day. Not the biggest deal to be worked up over

gototogo · 26/01/2026 14:35

@Octavia64 I like swimming naked especially in the sea, it’s allowed in the Canary Islands in certain places,

Pinepeak2434 · 26/01/2026 14:35

I think it’s gross, it’s always dirty old men and women snail trailing all over their seats.

Swimmingteacher21 · 26/01/2026 14:36

Playingvideogames · 26/01/2026 14:28

Then why is flashing a criminal offence?

do you think it shouldn’t be?

A naked bike ride organised as a political protest is fundamentally different. It is a planned demonstration with a clearly advertised route and purpose, giving the public the choice to avoid it, and it is intended to communicate environmental message rather than to shock or target individuals. Flashing is a deliberate act of sexual exposure directed at unsuspecting people, intended to cause alarm or distress. They are completely different.

80smonster · 26/01/2026 14:36

My child constantly pelts about the house butt naked. Feels like a taste of their own medicine to me.

elderlyparentone · 26/01/2026 14:38

There was one near me a couple of years ago. Me and my kids were standing at the bus stop and the kids thought it was the funniest thing they’ve ever seen. No one had an erection. I think it’s weird to take part in, but not necessarily sinister.

Alexandra2001 · 26/01/2026 14:38

There is some research that shows that riding a bicycle DECREASES erections.

Most people won’t be reading up what protests are happening before strolling into town to go to the shop or whatever.

This is boring, needless attention seeking.

Ok so for all those objecting to transwomen (aka males) in womens changing rooms not just for safety but for dignity reasons, why should we be forced to see naked men just because we want to step outside our houses?

To me adult nudity in public just isn’t acceptable. Designated changing rooms, naturist beaches, whatever fine as you know what to expect and not to go there.

But as PP pointed out, these rides are 90% men desperate to get their cock and bollocks out in public. Why? No normal man wants to be naked around children and the general public.

To me adult nudity in public just isn’t acceptable.

That's your prerogative, but the law says that it's broadly OK.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indecent_exposure

We all have things that we think aren't acceptable, but which are legal. By all means start a campaign to get the law changed.

I just consulted the nearest available man, who confirmed that sitting on a bicycle is unlikely to produce an erection. He ranked it just above a Boxing Day swim in the North Sea.

I mean, protests are exactly that, attention-seeking. It'd be a crap protest if no one noticed it or questioned what was going on.

Viviennemary · 26/01/2026 14:42

I don't really care so wouldn't sign. Just avoid if you don't approve.

JohnofWessex · 26/01/2026 14:42

I live on a suburban side road near a school and there is some subset of sick morins who think its appropriate to use it as a race track - and yes a child was killed a few years ago by a car that mounted the kerb.

Thats the threat to children I worry about.

When those morons are safely in Broadmoor where they belong then I just might worry about naked bike riders but until then I think that there are much much more serious threats to our children on the roads we need to tackle first.

pinkyredrose · 26/01/2026 13:33

The naked body is natural, you shouldn't be afraid of it.

This

NoMoreSpaniels · 26/01/2026 14:43

Faceonthewrongfoot · 26/01/2026 13:49

I mean, its probably not getting much traction because its a really long waffly petition full of 'make of that what you will' and 'no-one seems to know!'and 'call me a Karen if you want' phrases. And a meandering in the middle about the law around indecent exposure and how that's wrong as well. (The tiniest bit of research would also have helped with some of that 'who even knows?!' stuff).

This. I clicked the link and gave up reading the stream of consciousness.

Instead of framing it around kids, try another way, and ask someone to rewrite the petition. A few bullet points, facts, to the point.

quantumbutterfly · 26/01/2026 14:43

Just had a wander through some archive pics. A worrying number of participants ( or should they be partici-nopants) seemed to be using lime bikes ( other hire companies available). I do hope they carried wet wipes, and used them before docking.

Boak.

The male cyclists I have known had chamois padding in their cycling shorts and having seen mens bike saddles I understand why. Even a nice padded womens saddle can cause a bit of chafing if you're not used to it.

They must be quite determined to be naked.

BauhausOfEliott · 26/01/2026 14:43

You aren't telling me they don't get a thrill out of it?

Why would they? Would you? I wouldn't. Most people wouldn't. Fucking weird of you to assume that being naked on a bike is automatically sexually exciting.

Why do they have to be naked though?

Because 'Cyclists go on group bike ride' doesn't make the news and doesn't do a damn thing to raise awareness of the issues they're campaigning about, because there's nothing exceptional or unusual about it.

'Cyclists go on naked group bike ride' makes the news every year and attracts attention because it's funny, which then provides an opportunity for the organisers to talk about the message behind it. It's a really effective publicity stunt and usually gets a spokesperson interviewed on local news talking about the issues they're campaigning for, plus people who see it go back to the office or on social media and say 'Haha, OMG, just seen a load of naked people cycling, what's that about' and then they find out about the purpose behind it. It gets people talking and it gets media attention for a cause, which is the aim.

EastEndQueen · 26/01/2026 14:45

It rode past us in London once and made my 87 year old grandmother’s week!

Naked does not equal sexualised, erotic or perverted. The route is widely publicised and can easily be avoided, the way nudest beaches can be. Get a grip.

Iwantmybed · 26/01/2026 14:45

I get it now OP, because there is gender critical concerns on this site, that would create the same outrage of some nude 50 somethings cycling. It's not the same, not even remotely.

Funnywonder · 26/01/2026 14:47

Erections🤣🤣 What’s the opposite of an erection? I dunno - an anti-erection? A suck-in? Because I reckon that’s much more likely to happen if a man sits on a bike with his naked arse and balls on that razor blade of a saddle.
