Or don't do to make them enjoyable.

Need inspiration!

I just do whatever I want
No cleaning or laundry and no pressure on myself if I spend all day on the sofa.
Plus I like my job (SE) so no Monday fear.
I DO sometimes do some chores but only if I want to and if I don't then I don't

Riverz · 25/01/2026 12:59

I get up early and go for a run and the gym

then we usually spend time as a family, maybe a long walk or other activity then finish off laundry and sort the house out ready for Monday by tidying up and putting stuff away. We have a nice meal then an early night

Runlikesomeoneleftgateopen · 25/01/2026 13:09

I love Sundays.
Lay in, lazy morning, pottering , gardening, browsing on li
In the afternoon l go out on long cycle ride with my partner, we don't live together just meet up in week and at weekends, it's a good arrangement that really suits us both.

Tryonemoretime · 25/01/2026 18:00

I love Sundays. Love going to our (very full) church. If I'm doing the Children's Church session, I set it up before the service and get anything arty organised. We can have anything between 8 and 14 primary school aged children - and they are great fun. Then it's coffee and home for a snack lunch. Today, I threw some washing in the machine before collecting my dad and taking him to the pub, and have just got home. My husband is cooking dinner. 'The Night Manager' is on tonight 😊

Travel in our converted camper van, stay on the Saturday and then mountain biking. I’m in my 50s if that makes any difference. Went to Cwmcarn today and Bike Park Wales next Sunday.

ConnieHeart · 25/01/2026 18:16

Whatever i want to, now the kids are older. I usually go to the gym then potter about, probably not really achieving very much. I do try to spend some time with dd2 (16) and speak to dd1 (22) who's away at uni

Netcurtainnelly · 25/01/2026 18:18

Watch exciting football prem games like Man and Arsenal.
😛

Get a posh coffee, trip to the Garden centre, gardening, cooking.

PleaseAccepyMyUserNames · 25/01/2026 18:45

As soon as told my close friend about my Sunday anxiety, she suggested I just go round hers whenever I fancy it.
So we hang out with the kids, drink non-alcoholic prosecco, have a good gossip and eat whatever random food we fancy.
It definitely makes it feel more Saturday-ish and postpones the anxiety for me

ColdWaterDipper · 25/01/2026 18:50

I have preteen & teen boys so our Sundays are very busy with rugby matches & swimming training in the winter or regional sports competitions further afield. In the summer if there’s no comps and it’s nice weather then we tend to go to the beach with friends. When the boys were smaller we did a lot of long walks on the moors or mountain climbing, and loads of time at the beach.

Lararoft · 25/01/2026 18:58

Went to an antique fair in the morning, then met some friends in a bar that serves food for lunch.

Snakebite61 · 25/01/2026 19:00

Pub

hby9628 · 25/01/2026 19:07

Lie in, dog walk, watch a film, have family round for dinner. We tend to keep low key as much as possible on a Sunday and regroup a little bit.

cinnamongirl123 · 25/01/2026 19:08

I was thinking exactly this earlier today OP, thanks for the post, will follow with interest!
The things I like to do on Sundays aren’t things my DC like or want to do with me anymore - watch films, bake, cook, go for walks, pop into a pub, board games, see friends, bike rides, phone grandparents, fitness, gallery etc.
Then there’s the more mundane: cleaning, tidying, laundry, food shop, food prep, preparing for the week ahead etc.

ObladiObladah · 25/01/2026 19:13

We go to the early swim at our local pool every week - it’s very peaceful. In sunny weather we might cycle down, but in cold or wet weather we drive. I love not having to rush to get changed, it’s such a difference from the hectic swim classes we have to do with the kids mid-week.

coronafiona · 25/01/2026 19:14

Have a lie in, wash my hair, go for a walk, see a friend, go shopping, cook Sunday dinner, and enjoy a glass of wine. Then bad and back to it all tomorrow!

Mcoco · 25/01/2026 20:04

Cook a roast dinner in autumn/ winter spring and summer always a bbq! Go to mass in the evening. Visit relatives just a chill day!

Loobyloot · 25/01/2026 20:54

Today i went to my church, then cooked lunch for my teens and husband and ate with them, then went and co-led session 3 of the Alpha course, came home and knitted, then went to our church prayer meeting which is lovely way and place to spend sunday evening. Then home for tea and telly. It has been a good day.

Elishiva · 25/01/2026 21:11

I make proper coffee or tea in a pot.
Just a little pleasure I don’t have time for on work days.
Sometimes see family, went to my mothers for brunch today, if no plans with family I cook a roast or some other nice meal that I wouldn’t have time for after work.
Generally potter around home and relax, read a book, watch a film, last week I went to the gym for a yoga class which I’m hoping to make into a habit.

Movingonup313 · 25/01/2026 21:46

Empty dishwasher, sort pets, cook breakfast, get kids up and sorted, church, supermarket, lunch at home, dog walk, leisure centre (kids take friends and I have 2 hours of pet free child free housework free and work free time), make sunday roast, prep food and clothes, hour of telly, bed early for 5.30am start 🤣 and i love sundays as its a rest from work and scheduled activities.

FlipFlopVibe · 25/01/2026 22:14

Condensed my hours so I don’t work Mondays! Now Sunday feels like a bonus Saturday.

DecemberGloom · 25/01/2026 22:24

Today was lie in, church (great coffee included), easy lunch with card games, DCs did some jobs to earn iPad time, (sofa snooze for us!), did the RSPB birdwatch, then 90 minutes in the New Forest for a walk, home for roast made by DH whilst I sorted bath times and uniforms, dinner, an episode of The Goes Wrong Show and then bedtimes for DC.

Pretty dull to some I expect but it’s been lovely.

Cherryicecreamx · 25/01/2026 23:04

Love a Sunday although not so much before as I'd be dreading school the next day!
Slow mornings, a walk/bike ride somewhere, trying to include a traditional roast but depends what we do during the day.
Like to have a reset if I get some time to sort out the house.

Pricelessadvice · 24/01/2026 09:20

Sunday is my Saturday as I work tues- sat (sometimes also work Monday) so it’s my favourite day. I sort the yard out (horses), walk the dogs, do a bit of housework, visit family. Love it.

That’s my week too, I work Tuesday to Saturday. Sunday is my give DHorse a good clean (mud is awful now) and go for a nice long hack on Mondays. His stable gets a really good clean, not like my house but horse owners understand this 😂

Gossipisgood · 26/01/2026 12:26

I turn off my alarm on a Saturday night & get up on Sunday when I wake up what ever time that is. It's usually a lot later than work days. I'll either meet a friend & have Sunday lunch at a pub or order one to collect. I might do a little shopping, not groceries, nice things like clothes, cosmetics or house things. I visit my elderly parents then home to read or binge watch TV. Every other Sunday I have a massage booked so I'm usually home by 4pm waiting on the woman to arrive. Afterward it's a long soak in the bath then more reading or TV. I love a lazy Sunday. It's my time to really chill & switch off & reset for the busy week ahead.
