To wonder what US Trump voters think now

Their country's reputation trashed. The man they voted for heavily implicated in the Epstein scandal. Contempt shown to them abroad.
About to completely shift Ukraine. Enabling Netanyahu to commit mass murder of children with their tax dollars. No roaring economy. The environment fucked probbaky beyond saving due to their inaction.
What, in all honesty, do the 75 million who have caused this catastrophe think?

In fairness it’s because the facts are not important to us.

Fuck me. No wonder the country is so fucked.

They won't be thinking anything, because they were dense enough to vote for him in the first place.

I think Americans weren’t given much of a choice. It was either Trump and Vance or the frankly horrible option of having President Kamala Harris (anybody remember anything she actually did in four years as Vice President. All I can recall is her repeating the same soundbites over and over and laughing out loud) and her running mate, the possible Vice President Tim Walz, the current governor of Minnesota, who now appears to have allowed millions and millions of dollars in fraud to take place over several years. I think many voters are relieved that they voted for Trump. Would you really have preferred Harris and Walz?

Im going to assume that this is meant sincerely not a wind up.
Would I really have preferred someone who is:

  1. Not an adjudicated rapist
  2. Hasn't been caught on tape boasting of.sexually assaulting women
  3. Hasn't been a close friend of a paedophile
  4. Might.not have stood by as their friend and fellow vile human being Netanyahu murdered thousands of children with the bloodstained tax dollars of US taxpayers
  5. Not demonstrating characteristics of sociopathic narcissism
  6. Not turning 80 a year into their Presidency
  7. Not alongside a VP and potential successor who is a rightwing Christian fundamentalist misogynist.

So, you're badly wrong.

Quite a lot of fighting for women's healthcare and reproductive rights, actually, but it's not unusual for VPs to not have much public visibility.

Vice President Tim Walz, the current governor of Minnesota, who now appears to have allowed millions and millions of dollars in fraud to take place over several years.
First of all, there's more to the story than that, and second, as compared to Trump who actually committed tax fraud, is an adjudicated sexual assaulter, appears in the Epstein files numerous times and has grifted billions for his family since the election? Um, yeah.

Would you really have preferred Harris and Walz?
A thousand times, yes.

Even more so after reading some of the appalling responses on this thread, I think right thinking people should.now as far as possible boycott US goods. If you're UK based, write to your MP to complain about Starmers pathetic obsequiosness. Dont watch the FIFA world cup. Refuse to serve American tourists in European restaurants. Make all Americans aware their national reputation is being trashed. Yes its unfair. So what? Its unfair that 75 million idiots foisted this disgusting apology for a human being on the world.

Unfortunately, as a dual citizen, he's been foisted on me too.

Adding: Just in case I wasn't clear - I loathe the orange cretin and everything he's done.

And to be fair, I really don't think Starmer has much choice. We're fucked by being out of Europe and if Trump starts a retribution campaign (more tariffs) he can completely destroy the already perilous UK economy.

I have many US friends, I travel there annually. Most are of the opinion that you have to take the rough with the smooth. The dems screwed it all up and now they’ve had to vote in a rough man to clear up the mess. Do they like him? No, not really, but the alternative is unbearable.

Absolute nonsense. Anybody with any knowledge of US history knows that the Republicans are corrupt and incompetent, spend their administrations looting the country and swindling the people and then a democrat has to come in and fix the mess, every, single, time.

If more people in America voted, they would never elect these idiots. The problem is complacency.

The alternative to a convicted felon and pedophile was a capable woman and that was unbearable? Give me a break.

As an American, I don't know a single Trump voter who isn't mentally incompetent. The only way they can get people to vote against their own interests is by manipulation and keeping them stupid and uneducated. This is proven time and time again. The only people who vote republican are the millionaires/billionaires and the stupid, because, guess what? You have to be really fucking stupid to believe that the will of the people would ever actually align with the people who have the control.

You forgot not a pedophile, not a convicted felon and didn't commit treason.

Pedophile should really be enough but apparently it's not bad enough for Trump voters.

AgnesMcDoo · 04/01/2026 20:35

On the face of it, the comments about Starmer having no choice seem reasonable. But. Are Britain/Ireland/Europe/Canada/Aus and all the other non insane countries just going to up with this insanity for ever? Imagine the world after 11 more years, 3 Trump then 8 Vance years. The environment utterly ruined without recourse. Women's and possibly gay rights rolled back. No abortion. Multiple wars. Collusion with Russia. Ukraine overrun. Possible civil war in the US itself followed by the secession of California, NY, Vernont & most of the other coastal states. A.core USA a redneck wet dream with an economy in complete tatters, rocketing unemployment. A great depression.

Oh, I agree completely. I just think it's a classic between a rock and a hard place for Starmer. I don't know any of the answers, but as long as we're out of the EU, he really has no power or influence. We've relegated ourselves to becoming exactly the kind of non-player those of us who were part of 'project fear' warned we would be.

I'm just desperate for something to change because as things stand I'm desperately worried for my children, specifically, and the future of humanity, generally. We are surrounded by bad actors and an increasingly stupid populace in a very dangerous information environment.

Trump has also:

  1. Ended the Israel/Gaza war, which Joe Biden was utterly unable to do
  2. Destroyed the nuclear capabilities of a very dangerous country without leading to WW3
  3. Launched strikes to stop a resurgence of ISIS in Nigeria
  4. Imposed tariffs without there being a knock on effect on CPI, inflation or employment
  5. Has basically strong armed countries into paying their way and not hiding behind the States when it comes to military defence
  6. Made some strategically genius decisions in the Middle East to the extent Pakistan nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize

Now let me make it clear, I think he’s an odious individual with a personality disorder and many other character flaws. I think his stance on Russia is dangerous and nauseating, and I also think his primary goal is profit, be it personal profit or national profit. But, because we aren’t 6 years old and we are capable of holding 2 thoughts at once, not everything he has done has been awful.

It may be quite unsettling for the woke among you that Trump is popular in Nigeria, Kenya, India and all manner non-white, non-Western countries. Why I have no idea but that’s the consensus.

We can sit and nitpick all day but the fact is like all politicians he’s made some good decisions, some terrible ones, and what is good/terrible will change according to the morals of the individual.

Yes the woke are out in full. He didn't warn Starmer because he couldn't trust him. And Starmer is not condemning him. Interesting.
But Venezuelans the world over are cheering.
Oh and by the way we were bombing Syria yesterday
