To wonder what US Trump voters think now

Their country's reputation trashed. The man they voted for heavily implicated in the Epstein scandal. Contempt shown to them abroad.
About to completely shift Ukraine. Enabling Netanyahu to commit mass murder of children with their tax dollars. No roaring economy. The environment fucked probbaky beyond saving due to their inaction.
What, in all honesty, do the 75 million who have caused this catastrophe think?

What do you think of Nicolas Meduro as a leader? 🤔

I think he's a murderous dictator. Why?

And, to be fair, that's what I think about Nicolas Maduro. I have no feelings about Nicolas Meduro.

Topseyt123 · 04/01/2026 12:09

His supporters will continue to think that the sun shines out of Trump's arse. They are largely blind to his complete twattery and think he can do no wrong.

They can't see that he's a fuckwit.

Starmer is centre left. He was in Corbyn’s Labour at one point, loving on Corbyn.
He pretends to be more centre, but his record as a human rights lawyer gives him away.

I’m born and bred in Wales. Lived under a Labour government for the majority of my life and know how shit it is. Sadly, many Welsh voters tend to just vote for whoever their parents and grandparents voted for. If anything is stupid…that would be it.
I’m hoping that 2026 brings change.

Lawyers act for their clients.

Starmer is a barrister. And under the cab rank rule barristers do not choose their clients.

So what point do you think you are making here?

But how, when he doesn't ever let us forget it?! This is what I don't get. It's not subtle.

Ah good. So Trump did the right thing.

@NemesisInferior

Well let’s see then. For now, I think he’s doing what he said he would do and that is pleasing for the people who voted for him.

Pretty sure that Trump ran on a campaign against "forever wars" and was highly critical of US-led regime change during the presidential campaign.

So not really doing what he said he would, is he.

He chose that job. No one forced him to become a human rights lawyer.
he either did it because that’s what he believes in. Or because he could see the easy money to be made off the British taxpayer.

So no real answer, just some vague waffle. As expected.

But that's the thing about Trump and Reform people (it's ok, @24kPalamino, we know). They make assertions, you come back with fact, they ignore the fact - in this thread I've provided facts about US healthcare and voter numbers - never reply to it, just come back with more vague feelings and assertions.

And that's why the base will never leave him. Impervious to fact, and logic, for the most part.

Abhannmor · 04/01/2026 12:13

NemesisInferior · 04/01/2026 12:01

Barely, and not with a huge majority, and, just like in 2020 you can bet he does his best to hold onto power by whatever means necessarily - legal or otherwise and 2 term limit be damned - in 2028.

No majority at all. He did not exceed 50% of the vote. So he won a plurality. Still he did better than 2016 , when he was elected despite losing the popular vote quite badly.

Ah good. So Trump did the right thing.

He did it for oil. There isn't (as usual) a plan for what will happen now, that could lead to a positive change for the Venezuelan people. I'm sure you know this, so not sure why you're stating this faux-naive view that the US going into another country and removing their leader by force leads to a good outcome.

Hopefully a different more competent government that has the Welsh people and Welsh cities at the heart of its policy.

Do you think the Iraqi invasion was the right thing? Since Sadam was a murderous dictator? Trump didn’t support it. So does that mean he loved Sadam Hussein?

No. I think lots of people are idiots or evil or criminals or worse. But I don't kidnap them and give their resources to my friends.

Because it's illegal.

You're right, and I'll stop engaging. It's just too easy to get baited by the blatant ridiculousness.

If you are the CEO of an American oil company, yes he did.

Otherwise, no.

I'm interested in seeing how many oil companies really want to jump onboard with this when push comes to shove.

Goodness, this is pure pantomine. Let's hope to goodness the British people don't become so docile, unquestioning and dumbed down that this mendacious propaganda is believed!

In fairness it’s because the facts are not important to us. He won the election. Who cares by how much? It’s a case of thank God the previous administration is gone.

People genuinely felt worse off under the democrats. Men were allowed in women’s sports. The country was flooded by millions of illegal immigrants, some who raped and murdered innocent Americans, some of who caused terrible accidents resulting in death.

The previous administration was not kinder or nicer. So people are happy with their choice and there is nothing you can say or do to change that. If Trump proves to be awful over the coming years, people will change their mind won’t they. In the meantime, your ‘facts’ about voter numbers or health insurance are neither here nor there.

That is an interesting and astoundingly ignorant take. Human rights are not a left issue. They are human rights. Clue in the name 🙄
