To wonder what US Trump voters think now

Their country's reputation trashed. The man they voted for heavily implicated in the Epstein scandal. Contempt shown to them abroad.
About to completely shift Ukraine. Enabling Netanyahu to commit mass murder of children with their tax dollars. No roaring economy. The environment fucked probbaky beyond saving due to their inaction.
What, in all honesty, do the 75 million who have caused this catastrophe think?

Honestly, does it make you happy to follow American politics? You just seem angry tbh and it’s not very productive.

Like, this whole thread is all, ‘look at what Trump’s doing NOW! Surely you regret your vote THIS TIME!!!’

Yeah no. Still happy with my vote. Plan to throw in for Vance in 2028. Keep white knuckling those pearls tho!

American politics affects us all. When the US sneezes the world catches a cold. Besides, some of us have friends who we care about over there. All of them are against the Trump regime.

well if people studied their leaders better before voting then they got what they voted for same with any democracy

They love it, can’t get enough of it, and want more of it.

Lyndon B Johnson summed up those sorts of voter:

"If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."

They don't mind being unable to pay the bills, so long as they think that a minority is worse off than them.

Look at the ones in Texas complaining about how data centres are ruining their lives. Not enough to not vote for the politicians who made it happen though.

Did you read the article at all? Are you aware of why this is happening?

Did you read the article at all?

Honestly, are you diagnosed with some kind of disorder?

This alone, would seem to imply there is nothing, no evidence, no allegations, nothing that justify it.

No evidence has suggested that the other four Democratic states suffered similar widespread welfare frauds, but Andrew Nixon, a spokesman for the Department of Health and Human Services, which is in charge of disbursing the funding, suggested that the fraud cases in Minnesota led to the freeze.

Could you imagine if Obama or Biden had cut off all funding of this type to some shithole red state that remains in existence by sucking off the taxpayer teat of the blue cities?

I'm not an American so obviously didn't vote but I continue to applaud the amazing things he does.

Rape.
Misogyny.
Persecution of vulnerable minorities.
Friends with a trafficking paedophile.
Tax dodger.

Yeah all round good guy.

Don't be a goady fucker.

@RingoJuice Kamala would not have been any different to Biden.

The same Biden who got post-pandemic inflation down faster than any other major economy?

You're talking to a Trump voter. Be away with your pesky facts.

Voting for Trump, however distasteful is somewhat understandable - he appeals to the lowest common denominator and has enough dumb ass rhetoric and fake policy to sway a vote.

Vance. Oh my fucking God. Are you for real.

I am with the previous poster.

It's your funeral sweetie.

Agree with this
Many aspects of the US are incredible. Scenery, personableand warm hearted people etc
But so insular! And as you say little knowledge or respect for other ways of life or approaches, thinking everyone wants life like them. And twisting religious beliefs in such an obtuse way to suit their agendas
And this is the main frustration. Again, do what you want to yourself ( abortion, guns, healthcare) but stop forcing your obsessions on others.
Yes we've over relied on you, biggest regrets there

Exactly some of the nature and scenery is just stunning.

Yeah I know what you mean about twisting religious beliefs. There are actually many decent and genuine Christians out there too but the most vocal ones who have a big say in politics and social commentary tend to be the Christian nationalists/ Christian right.
Many of whom lack faith and just see it as a way to control others. The fact that they support a man like Trump speaks volumes.

Very much our experience when we lived there.

I’m not sure if it comes from arrogance or ignorance or a mix of both.

Years of propaganda. The ones who believe that everyone aspires to move to the US are generally those with little experience of the wider world. If you're repeatedly told from birth that you're in the greatest country in the world, you'll start to believe it. If you're one of the lucky few who have the opportunity to experience life in a different country you realise that actually everywhere (including the US) has a mixture of good and bad points.

Explaining more than once that, growing up in England, I’m a native English speaker was quite the eye opener.

It is absurd isn’t it? The things they come out with 😂

I was there last year and my hairdresser was making small talk while blow drying my hair. I couldn’t hear her properly over the dryer so sometimes id apologise and ask her to repeat herself. So I can’t recall her exact words but I think she said something like “is it because you can’t understand English properly?”

I told that I did understand and believe it or not English is spoken in the UK and she looked a bit disbelieving so not sure she was convinced tbh lol

And it’s not great quality oil either - heavy and sulphurous.

US refiners are used to that though, it's similar to what they receive from Canada. But not as cheap to extract and refine as crude from the Middle East is so isn't going to be viable at less than $60/barrel Major General Chip Chapman quoted extraction costs at $55-$70 on the radio earlier.

soupyspoon · 06/01/2026 23:03

Dont be daft, his recent behaviour will be viewed very positively, even by people that dont necessarily support hin, it will make them think America is in charge/powerful

However I am intersted in the views of Venezuelans about how they actually feel as its not black or white I understand.

Its Greenland I actually feel sorry for.

I have many US friends, I travel there annually. Most are of the opinion that you have to take the rough with the smooth. The dems screwed it all up and now they’ve had to vote in a rough man to clear up the mess. Do they like him? No, not really, but the alternative is unbearable.

The alternative is unbearable? Really? What you mean like threatening to invade Greenland? Trump makes the Dems look like Teddy bears...the US President is unhinged and no better than Putin but hey...

You forgot

  • paid someone else to take his SAT university entrance exam
  • had his daddy pay a dr for a fraudulent dr note to get him out of army conscription
  • brought his GF Marla on a family ski holiday and put her up in a secret hotel room on the other side of the resort (unbeknownst to his wife and kids)
  • fucked a porn star when Melania was newly postnatal
  • wants to fuck his own daughter

We would be the stupidest people on the planet... after voting for Brexit and self-inflicted economic sabotage, weakening ourselves on the world stage, and knowing exactly what and who Farage supports (including the LIES that gave us Brexit and yet no one holds him to account on those)

There has been rampant, massive fraud wherever they look.

My home state isn’t even mentioned in this article and they are finding these scam daycares and fraudulent Medicaid invoices.

In Minnesota alone, billions of dollars have been stolen from the taxpayer by Somalian scammers with fake daycares, charities and autism centers.

But just the American taxpayer, so why should you care? Why should you care that the extreme generosity of the American taxpayer has been abused beyond all comprehension?

Walz won’t even apologize for it, he just dropped out because he knows how bad it is. Some of this money was donated right back into the re-election campaigns of state politicians. AG Keith Ellison had received money from Feeding our Future, which stole over 250 million dollars from Minnesota taxpayers. Why he hasn’t resigned yet is a mystery

This is why we are so upset. Take taxpayer money and then give it away so carelessly, then have the chutzpah to suggest that we aren’t doing enough. Anyone honest in this space should be livid.

It upsets me that people complain about Elon Musk’s billions, but these groups scam billions and don’t even provide any useful services whatsoever.

The number of people losing their minds about Trump, still listen to The Rest is Politics as if one of them isn't a war criminal, had and have nothing to say about Obama in Libya in 2011 or illegal drone strikes. But orange man bad. Its all bad, but it's just the double standards which expose just how effective propaganda actually is.

I've heard the Venezuelans are relieved someone is finally helping them

I've heard some people believe in Father Christmas

@RingoJuice why should we care about things that affect the American tax payers - scandals like this happen all over the world dear god we had a MP expenses scandal.

none of that excuses trying to take what isn’t yours. The rest of the world doesn’t want to be American or have the head space to worry about internal politics as long as they remain internal

the problem is they don’t do they they don’t remain just a US problem do they

and it isn’t that others aren sympathetic it just everyone has their own issues

Funny how there's apparently none in red states. And so much in states that didn't vote for Trump. So very odd.

You don't take things away before you find something. We don't jail an entire town because one person commits a crime. We don't pull every car off the road because there's a car accident. We don't take every gun away because one person uses one to commit murder.

This isn't how funding or the law works. You can't arbitrarily and capriciously withdraw funding from innocent people because you think it's possible there might be fraud somewhere.

If you don't recognise how much taxpayer money has been spaffed up the wall in this administration on absolutely ridiculous things like tarting up Trump's bribe jet and changing the name of the Department of Defence, just for a start, you can't be applying much thought. And you know each ice raid costs, on average, around $70,000 (according to Wharton, Trump's alma mater) right? You might enjoy the nasty spectacle, but it's not saving anyone money.

And your empathy is for Elon Musk? The richest man in the world who is gleefully killing the world's poorest children? Seriously, you can love your fucking orange baboon turd of a president, but if deep down you don't recognise that this is indefensible, you are without humanity. You need help.

And that, folks, is your Trump voter.

*And I'm an American taxpayer.
