When one of the Dead Ringers did an impression of Keir Starmer on the RVP tonight there was alot of booing.
ITV kept it in too.
How embarrassing for Starmer.

Says alot though about what people think of Starmer.😀

A few regular posters on here constantly go on about how brilliant Badenough is.

You think the next 3.5 years will be just decided on domestic issues? YOu don't think Putin/Russia may have some say in this?

After Brexit and a slight pick in economic data by 2019, the Tories were thinking "Thank fuck this EU stuff is coming to an end!"

Or perhaps after Covid, Sunak gave a sigh of relief and thought "Nothing else can be that bad..... can it?"

I think, come 2029, a lot of people will be turned off Reform but equally, wont forget the 14years of the Tories, so expect a very low turn-out & a coalition.... assuming no wider war in Europe.

But just to remove all doubt, i don't like this Labour Govt, they are a massive disappointment but the alternatives are the Tories a bunch of extreme right wingers or Reform a bunch of even more extremist.

However, 18months isn't long enough for any party to be written off, if the Tories win in 2029, how long will give them? a lot longer than the 4 months (or was it 4 days?) many on here have given them i bet.

Edited

Well of course Tories are not extreme right wingers. 🙄

Part of Labour's biggest problem is that the people who rally for them have no language to talk civilly to people with different ideas.

‘Badenoch…is the new Messiah’
Is she? Says who?

‘3.5 years is a very very long time in politics’
You say this in relation to this government’s tenure (in GE terms).
Do you accept that the media, the markets, the back benches, the economic data, the polls all influence precisely what policy Starmer can/cannot get passed?

As we have seen from their flexible manifesto, what people voted for, and what they are actually getting, are two very, very, different things….

I think a few posters get very invested in what ‘regulars’ think. And usually are off base on that anyway.

I agree with you on Starmer. He’s clearly very unlikeable for most, given polling.

VillaDiodati · 22/12/2025 17:10

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 22/12/2025 01:14

I would imagine that 50% of the booing was because Starmer’s in power, i.e. just because he’s the incumbent. But he is truly loathed. And how!

The amusing thing is the left’s comical reaction. “How dare these people boo a Labour person. We’re all morally spotless and generally lovely because we’re left-wing!

No Labour supporter will ever accept that their heroes can be shitty, self-important, arrogant, incompetent wankers. The left is a giant cult: no doubt or criticism allowed; it’s a virtuous life being left-wing; it’s beyond ridicule or reproach. 🙄

Newsflash: being left-wing doesn’t make you better, kinder, more capable or more humane than anyone else. Get over it.

100% Bravo!

You come across as very ignorant. Where are you getting your information from, other than dailymail and Facebook.

Sorry, but what an extraordinary post.

Did you read what the PP wrote? All of which looks valid, and then some. Please do not diminish the very real impact this government’s policies are having on many people.

Dustyfustyoldcarcass · 22/12/2025 17:12

There will always be people that cant stand the PM and other politicians. I thought Boris was shit, and I think Farage is an opportunistic evil twunt in a bad suit. I would boo them, but some would cheer them. It's called politics.

A room full of people doesn't really represent the entire population.

Anyone with an ounce of intelligence will realise that politicians aren't really in charge anyway. Why do you think we have a different party seemingly delivering more of the same?

People increasingly hate him. It's plain to see. It's there in the polls, the membership numbers, the booing and chants. It takes quite some denial to prevent everything is fine but even more to see how he is performing and hope he can be redeemed.

JustSawJohnny · 22/12/2025 17:16

I would've 100% booed Boris.

Of coursed they are! Badenoch supports Elon Musk, a man who bank rolls Reform and Tommy Robinson.... denies young men are misogynistic or some are a threat to women, wants mass deportations, wants little or nothing to do with the EU, withdrawal of the welfare state, inc for the disabled, she is desperate to out Reform Reform!

The Tory party is far away from the Tories of David Cameron, let alone John Major.. who i voted for.. twice!

You should perhaps look at yourself in regard to that last sentence!

Oh, no worries then, Labour are golden. Nothing to see here.

Yep it’s all there. People think he’s doing well still, fine carry on as is. We’ll see what happens with leadership bids post May.

Suusue · 22/12/2025 17:32

Good! The man is unfit for public office.

Prometheus78 · 22/12/2025 17:34

Figgygal · 22/12/2025 16:59

I don't agree with any of that hes not Captain personality but we had that with Johnson who was an incompetent buffoon.
Starmer is unfairly maligned by the press who hate him as he was head of CPS during the hacking scandal wasn't he? He's a decent bloke who's trying to turn things round, it's been such a short period of time so far and I don't think he's being given any chance.
Why werent People this angry when the Tories were running this country into the ground and pocketing everything that they could? Why aren't people aiming their anger at the private companies that are running our services like shit and the wealth hoarding that's going on? I genuinely don't get it

You see, I don’t believe that Starmer is a ‘decent bloke’.

It’s what he would have you believe. I don’t buy it.

I don't think you know what extreme right wing means, or rather you do and prefer that it looks like a woman who has no truck in pretending that all disagreeable opinions are tantamount to inciting violence.

Absolutely. The argument is already won. Starmer is hated and the unpopularity car crash is inevitable.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 22/12/2025 17:36

My understanding was that the audience booed both the performance and the content. In Spitting Image says, all politicians were fair meat regardless of party. I wouldn't read more into it than that

There is a reason his personal popularity rating is the worst of any PM since records began.

Perhaps some PP’s will disagree with the data, however…

The booing started the moment the voice was recognised and people laughed at the content - poking fun at the lack of Starmer's popularity. You can watch it here, it's pretty unambiguous.

Star is booed in front of William and Kate over Starmer impression

Actor and comedian Duncan Wisbey briefly had to pause due to the cacophony of jeers at the Royal Albert Hall when he aped the Prime Minister's voice on stage.

This is the sort of thing I find perplexing about the left.

Starmer’s obviously neither competent nor likeable. Why would you think he’s a “decent bloke”? Just because he’s Labour?

There were loads of Tories who detested Johnson. Why do Labour supporters feel they have to fall in line to defend their own obvious shits and losers? It comes across as cultish.

I do think Starmer is a decent bloke in some ways. He helped the McDonald's two back in the day, for example.

The problem for me is that I don't really know what he stands for now and I wonder whether he knows? I don't despise him, but I don't particularly like him either.

A relative of mine reckons Starmer is an establishment stooge, planted to destroy the Labour party. It is very tin foil hat, but I do sometimes wonder...

Upstartled · 22/12/2025 17:59

He didn't seem very nice to me when he was shrugging his shoulders at the thought of the farmers contemplating suicide to protect the wellbeing of their farms before the new inheritance laws kick in. I'd say he looked pretty bloody callous about it all.

If Starmer is a Manchurian Candidate, how do you explain Reeves et al?

Crikeyalmighty · 22/12/2025 18:22

This really depends on your demographic - can assure you here where I am that whilst he may not be mega popular Farage would get way more boos -

It’s possible! (Well, not really.).

Much more likely is that his ambition and some luck has landed him the top job and he’s discovered that he’s not very good at it…governing being a million miles away from party management and opposing a clapped-out administration.

I really think his problem is being politically talentless. Whatever qualities he’s got, they don’t include promoting a vision or leading by force of personality.

RampantIvy · 22/12/2025 18:44

NoWordForFluffy · 22/12/2025 15:07

The Tories are getting far more in donations than Labour. I wouldn't use party numbers as a guide to popularity.

No surprise as to why.

Trishyb10 · 22/12/2025 18:57

Boo-ed, he,s lucky he wasnt on the recieving end of someones foot, the economy is in the gutter, everyone struggling like crazy, and what christmas? prices to high, nothing affordable, everyone on the tightest budget, no xmas parties, no groups in the street in their santa hats, our boss arranged our xmas night out with pie and peas instead of the usual 3 course turkey dinner, highly emvarrassing when dressed in glitter and glitz… the countrys in a mess
