When one of the Dead Ringers did an impression of Keir Starmer on the RVP tonight there was alot of booing.
ITV kept it in too.
How embarrassing for Starmer.

Says alot though about what people think of Starmer.😀

The amusing thing is the left’s comical reaction. “How dare these people boo a Labour person. We’re all morally spotless and generally lovely because we’re left-wing!

Is that on Blue Sky?

It certainly says something about those who go to the Royal Variety Performance, and by extension, it says something about you.

as a performer once said, many many years ago - you don't have to clap, just jangle your jewellery.

Meadowfinch · 22/12/2025 02:45

His govt's policies have had a negative effect on a lot of people and damaged our economy. The govt's incompetent faffing with the autumn statement caused more damage and a lot of redundancies.

In politics the stakes are high. They've cocked it up, they deserve to be booed. I have no sympathy.

dailyconniptions · 22/12/2025 03:21

Yanbu. Although Starmer is utterly disliked and many people consider he is causing severe harm to our country, it was an inappropriate situation to be booing.

(Yabvvvvu, however, to write a lot as one word. It is never 'alot'.)

Thedogscollar · 21/12/2025 23:38

Terrible behaviour.
Why would an adult behave like this?
It wasn't funny.
I doubt politicians bother about idiots like this though.

You mean like politicians themselves boo in thr Houses of Parliament.

Booing is not beneath them. They practically made this into a sport themselves

Monty27 · 22/12/2025 03:32

Not quite Glastonbury, but a jolly good show IMHO.
I wonder how the hunger strikers are. (Digress).
He deserves everything he gets.

OonaStubbs · 22/12/2025 03:37

There's also the problem that Starmer is a charisma vacuum.

xanthomelana · 22/12/2025 03:42

Eggybreadwithnuts · 21/12/2025 23:44

Looking at the audience, most looked very wealthy!

I suppose the people at the darts chanting Kier Starmer’s a wanker are millionaires as well? You are delusional if you think class has anything to do with his popularity, or lack of.

Monty27 · 22/12/2025 03:46

@xanthomelana 😂

He is utterly loathed and despised. Has been for years.

Has he now. Gosh.

Toothfairy89 · 22/12/2025 04:18

I don't think its news that some people don't like Kier starmer. Some people were protesting and calling for a repeat general election in week 1!

Dgll · 22/12/2025 04:18

letsallchant · 22/12/2025 00:32

Obviously not by everyone as you don't tend to win a landslide majority in Parliament if so.

33.7% of the vote to get 63% of the seats isn't actually a huge amount of public support. It show that people were fed up with the Tories, not that they were in love with labour.

The conservative government's policies were no better.

ColinOfficeTrolley · 22/12/2025 05:25

Maybe they were booing the so called 'impressionists'.

They really are fucking awful. And have to tell you who each person is that they're impersonating, because if you closed your eyes and they didn't give you the heads up, you wouldn't have a fucking clue who they were meant to be.

They really are the most cringe inducing type of human being to exist.

Can't quite put my finger on why, but people who earn a living by doing impressions, really do makee want to punch them in their pathetic mouths.

Nopersbro · 22/12/2025 05:28

All things considered, I don't think it's Starmer who comes off badly here. Or the audience.

Prometheus78 · 22/12/2025 06:02

The booing is consistent with Starmer’s personal ratings - which are in the toilet, of course.

He has alienated significant parts of the electorate with his terrible policies, his lies, his weakness, and his incompetence.

He’s a nasty piece of work, and the sooner Labour are out of government, the better.

MerryAndBrightLaLaLa · 22/12/2025 06:20

🙄

R1nt1nt1n · 22/12/2025 06:25

The type of people who can afford and would want Royal Variety tickets and black tie really aren’t going to be Starmer fans.

Don’t think Labour voters across the country will be dressing up in black tie, travelling up to London and paying to attend The Royal Variety Performance.

Thanks.

Wont get in next time though.

I was pretty disgusted by your schadenfreude and then you posted this, which gives you away, frankly.

Why on earth would I obsess enough or care to look them off? We’re years off an election ( August 29)and a lot can happen in 4 1/2 years popularitywise.Tories were unpopular in ratings during their 14 years in power. This was always going to be a difficult time to run the country hence the Tories pretty much doing a runnner. They thought they’d sit back and let Labour take the flack for their crap. Unfortunately it’s back fired for them.

Methinks you might be clutching at straws a tad.

JaninaDuszejko · 22/12/2025 06:42

Keir Starmer has a massive majority and so whatever the Reform supporters think there isn't going to be an election any time soon. Booing at the Royal Variety performance sounds like a coordinated publicity stunt designed to get maximum coverage. However much booing there is Labour are still in power and will be for a while.

So, to take the Margaret Thatcher example, 'Margaret Thatcher, Milk Snatcher' may have been sung in (some) playgrounds in the 1970s but that didn't stop her becoming Prime Minister in 1979 and remaining PM for 11 years.

Pedallleur · 22/12/2025 06:45

TheAutumnCrow · 21/12/2025 23:36

They boo because it’s like a pantomime performance, in the pantomime season.

Oh no it isn't!!!

Funny how you seek to defend Starmer, and then conveniently dodge my question. Noted.

Methinks you are not a serious person to engage with, so I will pass, thanks.
