AIBU to be shocked at how shit Xmas day telly is this year?

40 year old films, Xmas specials from half a century ago, bake-off and the bloody McIntyre wheel? That's the best they can come up with? And as for ITV - what kind of self-loathing maniac wants to watch Lorraine on Xmas morning? The only thing that sounds half decent is Amandaland. What are they playing at?

Because BBC4 isn’t your only choice? It dies tend to show old things - and many people enjoy them. You can use BBC1 and 2, Freeview via the infrastructure the BBC overseas, catch up, radio, Sounds and other online content if you don’t like the old stuff .

Of course I am, especially the ones that watch ITV.

We can agree that watching ITV at Christmas is a fate worse than death.

Didnt have great expectations but was hoping for a 26th/27th December drama of some genre on the bbc .
Agree it’s spectacularly bad .

I don't watch live TV, but hadn't noticed much advertised except The Night Manager, which I'm looking forward to. Looking through Xmas options, I've only picked out a Mark Gatiss Christmas story. I've been absorbed in the new Stranger Things episodes though, probably the best Christmas TV there is.

I was hugely disappointed with Amandaland, the entire half an hour was unfunny and dull.

The Amandaland Christmas special was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time.
