To ask if you are constantly seeing WW3 things on your feed

Bouliegirl · 18/12/2025 09:44

Im constantly seeing WW3 stuff online (for example my Instagram feed, Facebook, MSN news feed on internet explorer at work.

I’m just curious as to whether everyone else sees this, or if it’s just because I clicked on something once and now the algorithm thinks I’m super interested in WW3

Any mention of war gives me total anxiety, so if it did pop up I'd just close the page and not really notice. But I'm avoiding any 'is there going to be a war' type threads and I'm not seeing anything similar appearing.

MightyFlow · 18/12/2025 09:50

Of those three I only use IG and I'm not getting anything about war at all.

AnneLovesGilbert · 18/12/2025 09:50

No. I mostly see recipes, craft things and animal videos.

MatchaTea1 · 18/12/2025 09:50

It must just be your algorithm as I can’t think of any WW3 content I’ve seen..

Mcpdon · 18/12/2025 09:50

It’s likely some algorithm following something you clicked on. I don’t see any WW3 stuff.

rumred · 18/12/2025 09:50

I've not looked at anything about war so I don't get any, due to algorithms. I do get inundated with shit around subjects I've looked at generally.

Bouliegirl · 18/12/2025 09:51

This is great to hear everyone!

OP posts:
YellowCherry · 18/12/2025 09:51

No I'm not, it must be your algorithm. You can train it to stop by scrolling quickly past anything like that.

Catza · 18/12/2025 10:05

Nope. It's all art, gym and meditation videos for me.

Miranda65 · 18/12/2025 10:06

No, not at all. You're obviously looking at the wrong stuff, OP!

SeaAndStars · 18/12/2025 10:08

Nope. Mine's all cottage core and old dogs in cardigans.

gamerchick · 18/12/2025 10:10

It'll be something you clicked on or stayed too long watching. I avoid all the wars so don't get anything war like.

Just hide them as they come, use the not interested button. They'll stop quite quickly.

SeaAndStars · 18/12/2025 10:08

Nope. Mine's all cottage core and old dogs in cardigans.

This is mine as well, with an added dose of people doing amazing handmade stuff (lettering, cross stitch, etc), ADHD memes, and feral woman stuff.

@SeaAndStars Have you seen the costumes Gunnar Deatherage does for his dog? She’s a baby dachshund and he made her the red and black lace dress Kate Winslet wore in Titanic.

youegg · 18/12/2025 10:12

No. Mine is all dogs doing daft things, Traitors clips and people doing obnoxiously wonderful things with potatoes.

Nutmuncher · 18/12/2025 10:13

Not sure if it’s purely coincidence but I was just thinking there seems to be an awful lot of war talk literally just as I opened the MN page and bang smack at the top was your post OP.

I’m seeing WW3 talked about frequently too, it’s not Insta rather it’s X and FB where I see it mentioned most. My Apple News feed keeps throwing out stories centred around National Service etc.

HeadyLamarr · 18/12/2025 10:15

Nope.

Mine's all birdwatching, gardening, recipes, upcoming theatre productions and wildlife like cloud leopards or maned wolves.

ItsDarkNow · 18/12/2025 10:15

I'm seeing it on mainstream news sites - a lot of it. Mark Rutte the General Secretary of Nato, has been widely quoted over the last number of days.

Nutmuncher · 18/12/2025 10:16

To add… the worry for me isn’t that I’m seeing it, it’s more so the fact that it’s being discussed at all, even as a remote minute possibility and these are articles or clips from the past week or two.

BauhausOfEliott · 18/12/2025 10:17

I'm not getting this sort of content on any of my social media / news feeds.

LittleGreenDuck · 18/12/2025 10:17

youegg · 18/12/2025 10:12

No. Mine is all dogs doing daft things, Traitors clips and people doing obnoxiously wonderful things with potatoes.

I need to know more about the potatoes.

No, no war on my feed. It's mostly horse stuff, travel accounts and bizarrely, posts from American families with a gazillion kids all with very similar names. I must have watched one to the end at some point and now the algorithm thinks I want to see them all the time.

Echobelly · 18/12/2025 10:19

Nope, but I don't really use social media anymore other than Bluesky, or forums that aren't algorithmically led.

RainySundayAfternoon · 18/12/2025 10:20

No not at all

JamesClyman · 18/12/2025 10:21

No, and I spend a lot of time on military history sites and even run one!

surreygirly · 18/12/2025 10:26

just cats fetish and wine on mine :)

SeaAndStars · 18/12/2025 10:37

@FFSToEverythingSince2020
Off to view Gunnar Deatherage's page now. You have SO piqued my interest with 'feral woman stuff.' These might just be my people.
