I feel extremely accomplished and satisfied when I make a homemade pudding. I have no idea why. Probably because I came from a family where I don’t think a single thing was homemade. Seeing a homemade cake on a stand in my fridge actually makes me happy.

i also love seeing people lounging at home in battered jeans, jumper and very comfy/fluffy looking socks. Even better if they are stripey. It’s so cosy to me.

Piles of newspapers and magazines on a coffee table that actually get read is another one.

Really odd I know!

I have a new one:

City kids being overexcited about a real fire in a country pub

Local marmalade.

Messy hair.

The sun shining through the condensation on a glass of white wine.

Fishmongers' windows.

Love this thread, but I have a little moistness in my eyes for some of the adored departed pets, and especially for the elderly chap kneeling to put the slippers on his wife's feet.

Otherwise, my charm of goldfinches who swoop in on the two niger seed feeders outside the kitchen window, and the steady parade of tits (all the normal ones), robins, nuthatches, blackbirds and dunnocks that keep emptying the bird table. It's DH's pride and joy.

The snow on the veranda this morning.

Housing estates seen from the train.
Floral prints.
70s style coloured bathroom suites.

I have a lot of the things on this list! My house is very cosy/cluttered/lived in, and full of books and blankets and comfy cushions.

Personally, I love a smart front door.

My local park on a sunny saturday morning. It reminds me of a 1000p jigsaw puzzle, with multiple scenes and characters. Dog owners, kids playing football, joggers, tennis players, friends queuing for a coffee, kids playing on the monkey bars etc...

Bicycles with baskets

Beautiful front gardens. They don’t have to be big or overdone, but I do love a front garden that looks welcoming and cared for. Always makes me feel happy!

Flowering weeds and shrubs growing out of stone walls. It feels like a metaphor for hope.

I get a bit emotional every time I see a kingfisher on a canal and I tell everyone I saw one.

My dog doing a big sigh as he falls asleep.

Walking past the local nursery just now, there were a dozen small children all kitted out in high vis jackets lined up ready for a walk to the bus stop. They looked like little ducklings in their bright yellow coats. Definitely brightened up a grey drizzly morning.
