The elves have arrived, they’ve brought advent calendars, fluffy socks, Christmas teddies, Christmas pyjamas and Christmas bedding and a Christmas book to read :) not all new things I’ve got lots from charity shops so old but new to us :) I’m so excited I love seeing my kids happy faces - tell me about your Christmas traditions!

Lot of miserable people around. I thought this thread was going to be fun and light-hearted but obviously I was wrong.
We have new pyjamas on Christmas Eve and spend most of the day watching Christmas DVDs.
I have to say though I'm so glad none of my kids were ever in to elf on the shelf (my oldest two missed a anyway). I think the elves look creepy and the idea of them creeping round the house causing mischief or whatever probably would have given me nightmares as a kid As an adult I don't have the time or energy to think up mischief for every day in December or march the energy to clean up.. I still do love Christmas though.

It's hardly factual about dates is it? Most of the symbolism isn't Christian, it's pagan and for a large proportion of the population the religious element is largely irrelevant.

And a slight change in the title would cover that.

"To be excited MY Christmas starts tomorrow"
or
"To be excited I'm going to start celebrating Christmas tomorrow".

You can celebrate early if you like, knock yourself out although it sounds exhausting to me. But to claim it is Christmas already is just incorrect.

Have a mince pie and a glass of sherry.

I think I, like most people, understand the title to mean it’s the Christmas season tomorrow.
the posters who jumped on to correct op and chime in with exact dates- why?

It’s a light hearted, fun thread.

Christmas bedding, pjs etc is something nice and festive and kids love it.

op we have elves, Christmas bedding, Christmas bath mats, Christmas pjs, Santa soap dispenser. I love it all.
where do I store it all? In a box in the loft with the other Christmas decorations.

I honestly don't care if people want to call it Christmas in June...someone having a tree and lights up in November or referring to Christmas on the 1 Dec does not devalue my life in any way, I'm not that brittle.

Doesn't devalue mine either. I just enjoy maintaining accuracy. Not sure why that annoys people so much. Some of us are more interested in accurate language than others.

You have certainly made that clear, I don't agree with you, Christmas isn't factual there is no accuracy, there are just customs and everyone is entitled to their own customs. But now you've said and shared your wisdom why can't you just allow the OP and others to enjoy celebrating Christmas they don't need your permission - is that too hard for you? There is a hide button available for a reason. I'm going to use it now as this is a pointless discussion😂
OP I hope you enjoy your Christmas, celebrated your way.🎉

Sure! Not that I've ever claimed anyone needs my permission. Not till I get that gig as world dictator and I can properly lay down the law on these things 😂

Happy Advent to one and all.

Advent has started.

Christmas starts on 25th of December.

This. Bloody Christmas pop music everywhere. Not even genuine recordings.
