To ask if anyone has been wiped out with nasty cold with sore throat recently

Started with earache last Sunday. Sore throat Monday - had an afternoon nap which is unusual.
Glands up in neck on Tuesday , throat felt like swallowing shards of glass. Lost voice, sense of taste and smell. Again, fell asleep during the day.

Coughing on Wednesday which is particularly painful because of sharpness in throat and feeling cold.
Slept most of Thursday and Friday. No fever but tickly ear, nose and sore throat/ chesty cough.

Still tired today and haven’t been able to do much let alone think about commuting to work tomorrow.

anyone else having something similar?

Yes, I’d had a new type of tea just before bed and woke up thinking I was having an allergic reaction as couldn’t swallow. Ended up lasting a fortnight along with full cold symptoms - DH then followed and unconnected my SIL and her family had the same.

I'm in the post flu stage of being completely knackered.

I could happily sleep for a week. Literally fantasising about being asleep.

I had it in early October and seem to have known at least one person with it at any given time since then. Horrible! Absolutely wiped me out, the fatigue was the worst part and longest lasting symptom.

Yep. Four adults here - three of us sick. Not covid. The fourth seems to be immune to whatever it is, the jammy sod.

Do you have kids? HFM been going round near us - DH and I caught it off my daughter 2 weeks ago and it was diabolical! My throat has never been so sore!

Definitely current Covid strain.

How long did the fatigue last?

I am tired on a deep cellular level 🤣

Yes me. Awful headache, ear ache and swollen glands. Feel knackered but can't sleep as my extra loud snoring keeps waking me up!
